How can i open a windows unc link in a email on the ipad?

I work with my ipad in my enterprise and my exchange is sync on it. Sometime i receive some links for a doc or else on a windows share like \\server\path\example.doc.
I want to be able to click and open it directly instead using Filebrowser. Sometime the path can be long.

Unless you can get an "open in" (or "open with") option when you tap and hold on the URL, then you can't. iOS does not natively support connecting to any file share. You need to use a third-party utility such as FileBrowser, and if the app doesn't register and allow the "open in", then you'll have to copy the URL and paste it into File Browser et. al.

Numbers can store pdfs pages or clippings but does not directly open pdf files. To get the bank statement into Numbers as a table I would open the bank statment in Preview (or Skim) or some pdf viewer.
Then hold the option key while selecting a column of data.
Then copy
Then switch to numbers and paste the column into a table
Then repeat for the other columns in the pdf document
It would be easier (in my opinion) to download the QFX or CSV version from your bank

Microsoft has not written IE for Mac for years so unless you want to create a parition and install Windows, or user a Windows emulator, you're out of luck for installing IE on a Mac.

Stupid apple won't let you. You have to use a personal computer. I have a windows PC. How dumb is it of apple to make me have to go to PC. I ain't buying a Mac just to see my balance. Is there a way to open two browser windows from one click of a button to submit a form? I have a button on a screen that does some processing of the data and then generates a PDF file with the output. I would also like it to run a report and show the output of that in a separate window. I realize that using regular HTML with a target of "_blank" on the form, you can have the results show in a new window, but how can I launch a second window from a single button click, if possible?

It can be possible using two different popUps instead windows. Onclick on the button just make vissible true of those two popup in the event method, before making visible true, do the business operation to show on the popups. So simple :)
Note: Popup has modal=false attribute

In contacts I would like to know if there is a way to open two windows side by side so I can edit my group lists with my all contacts?

Thank you for your reply. I am trying to edit my Christmas Card List (group) with my All Contacts List. If I had a window side by side with each group in separate windows I could just compare the lists. The only other way I can think to do this is open my contacts on another device and have different group lists display on each device.

How can I open my Windows 7 firewall just for FTP use?

I originally tried this question at the regular user forums, but after no success a Microsoft Support Engineer suggested I post here.
On my Mac, if I use FileZilla to connect to an FTP (not sFTP) server, it works fine.
However, in Windows 7 or Windows 8, if I use FileZilla or WinSCP to connect to the same server, when it gets to the point where it starts to list the remote directory I get an ECONNABORT error and get disconnected.
Here is a transcript from FileZilla:

However, if I turn off the Windows firewall it works and I can use FileZilla and other FTP clients just fine.
My question is, rather than turning off the firewall altogether, how can I make an exception just for FTP, or just for FileZilla. I believe ports 20 and 21 are used depending on whether the connection is active or passive.
It isn't just me either. I was trying to help somebody else who is experiencing the exact same thing in his Windows 7. If he turns off the firewall completely FTP works. Otherwise it's the same error. He is on a different network altogether, in a different
country. Neither of us are behind proxy servers. In my case, it's just my home network.
I tried the following so far:
1. Make sure that FileZilla was listed as allowed in the firewall control panel. It was by default, so that didn't help.
2. Creating an "inbound rule" in the advanced settings for ports 20-21. That didn't help either.
Just completely turning off the firewall lets it work.
Any suggestions?

How can I recover from Windows login failure: User Profile Service failed the login

I have Boot Camp installed on a separate partition on a MacBook Pro, late 2011 model. I have Mavericks installedd (10.9.1). I use, variously, both Parallels and VM Fusion to access the BootCamp installation of Windows 7.
Except for having recently installed updates of both VMFusion and Parallels, I got this failure message when trying to login to Windows:: The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.
I had just been on Windows a few moments previously to access a business site that only accepts IE. Appreciate any useful insight on dealing with this issue without having to totally replace the BootCamp installation. A lot of the suggestions on Microsoft Windows repair sites are either incomprehensible or don't seem applicable.

Same problem here. Windows 7 support gives several so-called fixes (including regedit tweaks, eliminating the blocked user account), but all require access to that partition. So far as I know, I have only one user, since this is my personal computer -- unless there is some sort of default "administrator" logon.
Windows support says the problem might be caused by antivirus software running while we try to logon, but this problem has never happened to me before, and I have not made anti-virus changes (maybe AVG or Avast did so automatically)
I tried to access regedit through Finder, but get a garbled text-edit with the message that regedit cannot be opened by DOS.
So I wonder (a) is there a default admin logon? (b) Can we tinker with the settings inside Windows from Finder, or (c) how else can we get into Windows?
My setup: Macbook Pro (Fall 2010), 10.6.8, boot camp, Windows 7.

You first need one or more apps on your iPad that support word and/or powerpoint documents - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version which allows you to create and edit Powerpoint docs) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

photos that were synced to the pad can only be deleted by re syncing. When you do the resync, on your computer running i tunes, select the photo tab, and uncheck anything you do not want put back on your pad.
