Is there any workaround to print 2 pages per sheet (in MS Word) with bookmarks?
I always get the following message:
Acrobat PDFMaker has detected that 'Multiple Pages option in Page Setup' has been selected. It will not be able to create tags, links, bookmarks with this option selected...

How can I print a contact sheet with a repeated row of images?

Hi there,
I am hoping that it is possible with my version of iPhoto to print a contact sheet on which I need to have a row of 8 pictures that then repeat down the entire page.
I understand how to set the slider for the number of "rows" across the page. But, how do I then get these 8 pictures to repeat on the same piece of paper?
I am an art teacher...need to do this for a project for my class!

A contact sheet can only put each photo once on the page. I can't think of a way to do it in iPhoto.
I was able to do what you describe in Photoshop Elements. If you have access to that program you can give it a try.
In Photoshop Elements, open all 8 photos.
Choose File->Contact Sheet II
Source Images Use: Current Open Documents
Thumbnails: Place across first, Columns: 8, Rows 1 (Use Auto Spacing)
Uncheck "Use Filename as Caption" unless you want the names.
Click OK.
You then need to move the row of photos to the top of the page with the move tool. Then while holding down the option and shift keys, use the move tool to drag copies repeatedly until you've filled the page.

Printing two pages per sheet with equal margins

My first post here. I did a search but didn't see an answer to my question.
How can I get equal margins when printing two pages per sheet?
I print aviation approach plates 2 pages per sheet and fold the sheet of paper in half and carry with me in a knee board. I had no problem doing this until last week after my hard drive was changed. The steps I normally take are:
click file
print
print range: all
copies: 1
page scaling: multiple pages per sheet
pages per sheet: 2
page order: horizontal (for the first pass through the printer and horizontal reversed for the second pass)
print to file: box checked
the preview now shows a winder margin on the left side of the page than the right.
I can't figure out any way to even the margins. Anyone have any ideas?

How can I install Pages 4.3 with Maverick?

I recently purchaed a new MacBook Air (yippee) and unthinkingly put Maverick straight onto it Not being a fan of the latest Pages 3 & Numbers 5 I then installed iWork '09 from my install DVD, using my desktop Mac as a remote disc. Alll fine so far.
The trouble is the install DVD has Pages 4.0.1 and Numbers 2.0.1 on it, whereas what I really want is Pages 4.3 and Numbers 2.3, which I am currenlty using on my desktop Mac (also recenlty upgraded to Maverick). I tried to simply copy these apps from my desktop Mac but this didn't work - I got an error message when I tried to run them - so now I'm back with the original versions.
I can't upgrade them via the App Store, as this will simply give me the latest versions, whcih I don't want. Does anybody know where I can get a Pages 4.3 and Numbers 2.3 update?

How can I find a text box with a specific word in it ?

Hi,
I have hundreds of settlement names on a map created with the text tool. How can I search on the name of one of them and find it on my map ?
I am with FH9 but the method would no doubt be backwards compatible from MX. If it isnt I would launch MX just for this exercise.
Would this also work if the word was part of a text box text ?
I have the luxury of it being the entire text box !

If you have one large text box to search for the word, select it, then go to EDIT>FIND & REPLACE>TEXT...
Type in your word and click FIND NEXT button. If you have multiple occurances of the name, keep clicking the FIND NEXT button until the word hilites.
If you have scattered text boxes on your map, don't select any of them but still go through the EDIT>FIND & REPLACE>TEXT... routine I mentioned. FreeHand will look through all text boxes to find your word.
Oh yeah, this works the same in FreeHand 8 thru FHMX.

"Create Comment Summary" not showing in Pro 10.1.7?? How can I print document and comments with connector lines on single page?

Adobe's instructions for Acrobat X Pro say that to print the document with connector lines on the same page, I should go from the menu to "Print With Comments Summary." I'm using version 10.1.7 and that option doesn't show up. My menu bar looks like this:

I don't see any of the comment printing options Adobe refers to in their instructions. Am I looking in the wrong place for the option to print comments on the same page as the document? Or is there some reason this is not available?

You're trying to write to the PFI lines, which are part of port 1. Only the 8 lines on port 0 "Dev1/port0" support clocked/correlated DIO, port 1 only supports static/SW timed DIO (which is what you are using) and counter timer opperations. To do buffered output, check out the Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk shipping example at:

when you use this, you'll need to specify an external clock - M-Series DIO does not have its own timing engine so it has to get its clock signal from somewhere else. Most just use an onboard counter to generate a clocking signal, so the Dig-Pulse Train Cont example under counters can be combined with this.
Most of this is covered in the M-Series user manual, though I realize its not exactly lite reading

I want to print using only the black cartridge. I'm out of color ink. However, I see no option to print using black only. How can I print from my IMAC with Mavericks OS to the Canon MP560 printer's rear tray?

I have just moved from a Windows platform to Imac. On Windows, in Word, I was able to select where the paper was feeding (automatically select, rear tray, etc.) but now I can't select rear tray. You need to turn on Printer Sharing on both the PC and OS X. I can't help you on Vista but in OS X it's System Preferences - Sharing - check the Printer Sharing box.

The datamember configurations can be exported. In edit mode, File->Export Process Data Members...
But the connections cannot be exported.
You can open the .lks file by notepad, there you will see the source codes, including the connections you configure. But you need to extract them manually.

Printing multiple pages per sheet using a PostScript driver and GhostScript.

I have three PDF files containing a total of 165 pages. I would like to print 162 of these pages onto two sides of a 8.5 × 11 in. "Letter" size paper. That is 81 pages per sheet. I don't care about loss of clarity or readability, just that fact that there are 81 (or I suppose 80 would be possible and would fit much nicer) pages of the document shown. I've seen this done before, so it is possible. It involved printing using a PostScript driver. I don't own a PostScript printer, so GhostScript will take the resulting PostScript document and print it on a non-PostScript printer.
The first issue I'm having is with using the PostScript driver to print 80 pages per sheet. The only printing options I can find allow you to print 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16 pages per sheet, no customizable value present.
Does anyone have any words of advice or a source for information on the process of how this can be done? Thanks in advance.

There's no "Custom..." to choose from.
Edit: Alright! I solved my own problem. In order to print a customizable number of pages per sheet 'Page Scaling', under the 'Page Handling' section of the 'Print' window, must be set to "Multiple pages per sheet". At this point more options populate the window, one of which is a new but seperate dropdown for 'Pages per sheet' with "Custom..." as a selection. This is different, however, from the 'Print' window's 'Properties' sub-window which has a form entry drop-down for 'Pages Per Sheet'. Hurray for unintuitive software GUIs! Hopefully this post will help others.

I'm using Max OSX Lion 10.7.3 and Adobe Reader X 10.1.2.
I want print two PDF pages onto one printed sheet, and I want to print front and back. When I go to the print settings and select two pages per printed sheet, the sample window shows me what I'm looking for. But when I tell it to print odd only or even only, it changes the print selection. Here's what happens...
Let's say I have a PDF document that is 20 pages long. When I tell it to print two PDF pages per sheet, it shows me that the first pages printed will be PDF pages 1 and 2. When I tell it that I want it to print odd pages only, it tells me that the first printed page will contain PDF pages 1 and 3.
In other words, Adobe Reader wants to print the odd PDF pages instead of the odd pages of the printed document (PDF pages 1 and 2, then 5 and 6, then 9 and 10, so on).
So that I'm being clear...

Aside from telling it exactly which PDF page numbers to print (this would be a taxing job because I'm working with a 273 page document), is there an easy and simple way to print how I'd like?

I would suggest to use Adobe Ilustrator. Also I get an error message when I try tp access the sample document.
