How can I put Lightroom 4 video into a format for viewing on DVDs?
I have made as slideshow in Lightroom 4. It translates well into MP4. This MP4 file runs on some computers and all BluRay players I've tested.
I want this slideshow to play on all DVD playeres. How can I take the MP4 file... and make it into an AVI or other file format? Is there a better file format than AVI?

I don't do a lot of video. But when I do I use Adobe Premiere Elements. Since I don't do a lot of video, I don't have the most current version. But it is a pretty good program. You can use AVI or mp4 and I think some other file formats. You can trim your video and add special effects and transitions as needed. There are other video editing programs as well. I started with a program called Pinnacle Studio. I prefer PE, however. I'm sure there are numerous other video editing software programs available. Just do a Google search.

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

How can I put an image onto a postcard format?
By postcard format do you mean crop the picture into a postcard shape?
If so, here is one way: Activate the Rectangular Marque tool. Set Style to Fixed Aspect Ratio, and enter the dimensions for Width & Height. In this example I used a standard postcard size of 6" x 4.25". Open your picture, draw out the rectangle, and Image > Crop. The picture will now be in the 6 x 4.25 proportion.
To get it to the actual 6" x 4.25" size, do Image > Resize > Image Size. Check the Constrain Proportions Box, and enter either the true Width or Height; the other dimension will change accordingly.
If this is not what you are trying to do, please be more specific. -

ZachYou can put a QuickTime clip on a Keynote slide just by dragging the movie file onto the slide. If the clip is in your Movies folder in your home directory, you can also use the Media browser to insert it. Finally, you can use the Insert menu, and use the Choose... item to pick the file.
To grab one of the "Get a Mac" ads, go to the ad page. Hover your cursor over the thumbnail of the ad, hold down the Control key, and click and hold the mouse button to pop up the contextual menu. Choose "Download Linked File", and the file should be saved to your hard drive. -

How can I get MPEG-2 video into Final Cut Pro X?
Hello! I have several MPEG-2 video files on which I need to perform some edits. When I tried to import them into Final Cut Pro, I learned that Final Cut Pro can't import MPEG files. Okay, so I went into QuickTime and exported one as 720p. 20 minutes later, I had a video that I could load in FCP. Awesome. Except that when I watched the video, the audio was waaaaaaaay out of sync. So, is there a different way I could get this MPEG-2 video into a format that FCP will like while keeping video and audio together?
I would keep trying a few different things without direction, but these videos are like 90 minutes long and the conversion process is lengthy.

I don't know why you had the sync problem with QT. You could bring it into FCP and detach the audio and manually line it up it's off by a constant amount.
Or you can use MEG Streamclip. You will also need the playback component, which is $20. Follow the instructions on the Squared 5 site to install it. Streamclip is worth having even if you don't use it this time around.

but the most important one (the one where she was born) wont go in because its not the (mov) format, its (3GP). Can anybody help?You could use QuickTime Pro to export your file to DV Stream. This .dv file will work with any version of iMovie.
Because your .3gp file has small dimensions the export will resize it and image quality will suffer. -
I need help. I have completed my video and now realize it is too big for a single DVD. Is there a way I can split the video and not lose the current info so I can put video on 3 different disks?

If you burn a Timeline content to a video file saved to the computer hard drive, you can use Publish+Share/Computer/and one of those choices to get a video file (.mov, .mpg, .avi, wmv, mp4, m2t). But, this route does not allow for menus. You can take the saved video file and transfer it to USB Flash Drive or memory card, and, if your player supports that, you can playback the file with the player.
When you burn a Timeline content to DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, menus are supported. And, what you have on the DVD after the burn to disc are two folders (OpenDVD and VIDEO_TS) in the correct disc system format. It is the VIDEO_TS Folder on the disc that has the video files and menu files for DVD-VIDEO format.
When you take the Timeline content to Publish+Share/Disc/DVD, but use Folder (4.7 GB), you end up with a saved folder which contains the same OpenDVD Folder and VIDEO_TS Folder that you would have gotten from the direct burn to disc. But, now you need to take just the VIDEO_TS Folder from the saved folder and get it to a DVD disc in the correct disc system format. You do that with a free 3rd party software such as ImgBurn.
If you go the ISO Image route, your DVD video files (video and menu et al) are saved as a file in format represented by the .iso file extension. It is essentially a copy of your DVD-VIDEO data including menus. The .iso image produced can be taken to DVD disc to produce the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc.
So, in the case of burn to folder, you are looking for a saved folder with OpenDVD Folder and VIDEO_TS Folder inside.
In the case of the burn to ISO Image, you are looking for a file with the .iso file extension.
The Save In: location of the burn dialog should point to where you are going to find the folder or file after the burn to.

Back then when I had the older update with iTunes i never had this problem with trying to put my mp3 files of music into my iTunes library. Now it doesn't want to be put into the library. Once I try to drag the music file to the iTunes library nothing happens, it just keeps showing a cancellation sign with my mouse. So how can I fix this?

The problem is probably that the index is corrupt and you need to completely re-create it rather than rebuilding individual mailboxes. I have no idea what the situation really is now after having tinkered with the contents of ~/Library/Mail/, though, so the following procedure may or may not work.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
4. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder. -

Thankshmm. get a file converter like audioconverter. i'd suggest going to a torrent site, like torrentz.com, and searching for "audio converter." if you have a bittorrent downloader, download the file with "crack" in the name, so that the bastards who made audio converter wont take the program away from you after 30 trial days. if you don't have a bittorrent downloader, google search azureus, download that, and then you should be able to download the cracked audio converter. follow it's instructions to un-trail-period it, and then use the program. odds are, you'll try to convert the file and it'll say it failed to convert because. ask for details and it'll take you to some site where you can download additions to the file converter, so you can, finally, convert mpeg movies. and midi, and all that.
