How can I put favicons on the bookmarks bar?

I am used to seeing favicons next to my bookmarks--in fact, I have several that have favicons only (such as Google Reader, ESPN). Can this happen with Safari (Windows)? After favicons, seeing all text bookmarks on the bookmarks bar is so 2000s.

How can I put asterisk in the beginning and end of a search parameter..?

I'm developing a program for a user where he wants a search parameter for the description about some purchase orders....
The problem is if the user want to make a search for any word he need to put asterisk in the beginning and end of the word because if the user don't put the asterisk the search will not find anything because the program don't know if the word is in the beginning of the description or in the end or in the middle...
How can I put one asterisk in the beginning and end of the search topic entered by the user internally in the program..? I was thinking using the concatenate function but for this will not work because the program think that the asterisk is part of the word and not..
The search parameter of the Description is in range.. (Select-Options).

In the code desc_search is the select_option that I tell u. I use the DESCRIBE to see first if it is not initial... if desc_search have an entry then access the DELETE to remove all the records that are diferent from desc_search.. This desc_search will have the word with the asterisk... and the question is if it works if I use the concatenate before this... anyway I will try but I think that if I use the concatenate the program confuse and take the asterisk as part of the word..
DESCRIBE TABLE desc_search LINES desc_count.
IF desc_count IS NOT INITIAL.
DELETE core_table WHERE desc NOT IN desc_search.

GUI organization is messed up - how can I put it back the way it was

was running fine, then somehow the GUI got messed up so now connections view takes up half the screen and I can't see the SQL windows and the tables windows. How can I put it back to the way it was? Any time I try to drag and move a window around, it gets worse. I would like to have the connections view only in the left quarter of the window as the default.

If you simply want to reset everything to default you can backup/delete the settings directory usualli located in:

documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\SQL Developer\systemXXXXXXMind you will lose all your other settings along with the layout, you may want to at least export your connections before trying.
The layour file itself should be somthing called windowinglayout.xml located somewhere in the above config directory, but last time i checked deleting only this file had no effect.

How do I move my movies from iTunes to a portable drive in oder to free up disk space?

I have less than 10% of disk space free and often receive a message that my strat up disk is nearly full. I therefore want to free up space by moving my movies to a portable drive. How? I want to keep the movies on my iPad, though.

First, we need to know if the audiobook chapters are being treated by iTunes as music files or as audiobooks. If they are not audiobooks purchased from the iTunes store, they might be getting "shuffled". You will need to look at "File" - "Properties" (I think - I don't use iTunes under Windows - or right-click on the file and choose "properties") and look at the media type. If it is "Music", change it to "Audiobook". If this is not the problem, or does not fix anything, please post back.
Actually, looking at your post again, a second thought occurs to me - assuming there are less than 100 chapters in the book, just renaming them with a leading zero on the first nine chapters might do it. A computer will alphabetically sort filenames in the order you quote (1, 10, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 21, etc.) but a leading zero will fix that (01, 02, 03 ... 10, 11, 12)

HT2729 How can I put songs into the album they came from but were split because of multiple artists on a tune?

I need help in finding out home to combine songs from the same CD into one Album. When putting CD into the iMac, it auto loads into iTunes. If the artist is singing duet and the songs show more than one artist, it gets separated in iTunes. I want to combine all tracks together like they are on the CD.

One way around this is to edit the album info for each song on that album and make the album artist 'various artists', or you can remove that duet artist and make all the artists the same.
Seems to be a glitch or change with how iTunes sees albums now. THey alphabetize them by artist and, as you've noticed, if the artists are different, it sees them as different albums.
I had many albums like this and spent a whole weekend editing the info to 'various' to clean it up.

How can I put content on the AppleTV and have it STAY there??

I want to put movies on the AppleTV and delete them from my computer. I want the movies to be persistently on the AppleTV How do I do that?

Most important thing to realise is that AppleTV cannot be regarded as a storage or backup device - once content is on AppleTv you cannot get it back to your computer.
Assuming you have a backup copy of a movie elsewhere in case your AppleTV fails or needs a factory restore you could either:
- Show the files location using a right click on it in iTunes and delete it from the laptop drive directly but not delete the entry from iTunes. (Not ideal but apparently works)
- Keep larger files on an external drive and change iTunes Preferences not to import to the main library - when the drive is connected you will be able to add new entries to iTunes and synce them. When disconnected iTunes won't delete them from AppleTV as again there's still an entry in the library, just that the file isn't available.
These are workarounds - it's a shame you can't just drag and drop media to AppleTV manually rather than having to sync things.

Wish I did. I tried the group function but that didn't help in iTunes. The search function is the best I came up with. I can answer the question do you have susch and such artist. But I can't browse for an artist I don't remember exactly or have misspelled. Fortunately I don't think I've bought anything from iTunes that i already had. If you can't see an artist it's possible you think you don't have something you actually do have. Sorry, still hoping for a better work around or better yet a fix.

How can I highlight part of the frame and track it as it moves around in Final Cut Studio?

I'd like to highlight part of the frame by reducing the brightness of the surroundings. My idea was to duplicate the layer, reduce the opacity of the lower layer to 80% and crop the top layer to the area I want. Problem is this, how can I then follow the area of interest as it moves around the frame without laboriously keyframing and adjusting the cropped area every frame. Moving the cropped layer moves the content so that's no good. I definitely have the wrong approach here ... struggling ...

Regio blur (which I have and love btw) won't help me as I want everything sharp. I thought of using a box wipe transition the san duration as the clip with a cut in the middle to set the effect on and having it at 20% for example throughout and keyframing the center postion as required. Two problems with that, can't find a simple box wipe in effects (only centere wipe) and when I try it with other unsuitable wipes the size of the wipe changes when I adjust its centre position despite having the start and finish at the same percentage ... still working this one!

I have been using LR5 on a Mac mini. The LR was installed on an external drive. Now I would like to use Smart Previews on my Internal drive to take advantage of the speed. When I make previews they go to originals. How can I put them on the internal drive

when started with LR 5 on my Mac I used advise from Adobe's LR5 book, I installed it on an external drive, processing originals was a little slow so I decided to make smart previews on my internal drive to get faster processing. However the smart previews hook up with the originals and so there is no advantage just a bigger file. Is there anyway when I make the previews stay on the internal drive or am I locked in with the current setup. I can find no LR5 folders on the internal drive.

Are you doing a lot of spot removal or brushing?
This doesn't sound like a disk drive issue at all. Once Lightroom reads the file from the disk, and you are editing, the disk plays no further role. Using a faster disk drive here will not make the slightest difference.
So, I would check your graphics drivers to see if they are up to date. I would also temporarily disable your virus checker and firewall.
How much memory does your computer have? What CPU do you have?
How big (in megapixels, not megabytes) are the photos you are editing?

Open a blank, new file from the File menu (File>New>blank file). Enter the width & height of your paper stock, resolution 300 px/in, background white, or any other color. This will be your canvas. Ideally, the resolution should be the same value as that of your 3 pictures.
Open picture #1, and with one of the selection tools, e.g. selection brush, lasso tool, select the object that you want
Go to Edit menu>copy to place it on the clipboard
Go back to the canvas
Go to Edit>paste, and the object will be on its own layer.
Use the move tool to position the object, and to resize with the corner handles of the bounding box
Repeat for pictures 2&3
