Are you using an external audio controller or the line-in and headphone jacks on the side of your computer? You shouldn't have an issue using headphones when you're recording through the line-in but you may want to make sure you have monitoring on and it's going to the right place.
If you're using an external audio controller, try making an aggregate device combining the controller and the "built-in output" into the same device. Go to Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup, click the "+" sign at the bottom left to make a new device and check the "use" boxes to the left of the physical devices you want to use as part of that aggregate device. That is how I use the computer's speakers or headphones to monitor my input as opposed to only being able to use the output on my audio controller.
Now that I see some of the questions on the side of this page I realize that the 13" MBPs seem to have only one combined input/output jack... That is an incredibly stupid feature. What on Earth could possibly justify that design decision? I suppose if that's the problem you're having you'll have to buy some sort of splitter (if they even make them) or get an external audio controller like an Apogee Duet or something along those lines. I would be furious if they combined those two jacks on all of the MBPs.

Are you using an external sound card?
If so, go to system preferences under the apple in the top RH corner of the menu bar. Open sound and select thus device as your audio output.
OS X automatically defaults to the laptop's internal speakers ans mic input.

Do you currently have automatic downloads turned 'on' for apps on your iPhone : Settings > iTunes & App Stores (Settings > Stores if it's not on iOS 6) ? If you do then try turning it off, that should then mean that any apps that you buy on your iPad don't automatically download on your phone as well.
Or if it happens when you sync the phone to your computer's iTunes, then when you next connect the phone on its Apps tab make sure that the 'automatically sync new apps' tickbox under the listbox of apps is unticked

My iPhone has more than 12gB of photos & video - some 1200 of them. I have transferred them all to iPhoto on my MacBook Pro. Now I want to delete about 75% of the photos on my phone while I keep the rest safely on my Mac. You can't because the actual photos are in the camera roll. The albums only contain links to these photos, not duplicate photos.

Record your voice using iPhone (for ringtone only 35 secs or under are valid), sync iPhone with iTunes.
In iTunes the recorded voice is listed under Music as some_numbers.m4a.
Right click on the item and choose Create AAC version.
Drag the converted voice onto the desktop.
Delete the voice copy in iTunes. (important step)
On desktop, rename the some_number.m4a to something_more_intelligent.m4r
Drag it back to iTunes and you will find it under Tones.
Now select it (for sync) and connect your iPhone, do a sync.
If everything works out, it will be in Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Now choose a contact you want to assign this ringtone, tap Edit and add the ringtone.

Hi, I have this exact same problem. I haven't been using an iRig, just a cheap USB-jack cable. I managed to do this with the first cable I bought, but since it broke I've been unable to find a replacement that allows me to hear the drums while recording. DId you manage to get over this issue? Hi. I am trying to record multiple midi instruments simultaneously into Logic Pro 9 through a MOTU USB Fas Lane so that it is similar to recording a live band.
Essentially:
Track 1: Midi Keyboard - Motu Fast Lane Input A - Logic Pro - Software Instrument (Absynth)
Track 2: Midi Drum Kit - Motu Fast Lane Input B - Logic Pro - Software Instrument (Battery)
Neither Midi device can be set to a separate channel.
I would have thought this was a really common application (recoding from multiple live midi sources like a band would normally do) yet it seems unnecessarily complicated.
I gather what I would have to do involves:
1) Going into the Environment.
2) Creating a Physical Input
3) Creating a Sequencer Input
4) Placing a transofrmer between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input
Where to go ffrom there I have not got a clue!
Any help would be appreciated.
Incidentally I would also like to record two audio tracks at the same time as the midi track, but hoepfully that does not complicate things further.

Photos that were synced from your computer using iTunes can only be deleted by de-selecting them from the folder from where they were synced - and then re-syncing.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
If you want to remove all of the Photos - uncheck the Sync Photos from Heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Have you ever even used skype on an iphone or ipod? We tried it and there is no way to type to each other while you are video chatting. You can do the typing during the video on a COMPUTER, but not on an iphone or ipod.

Help with recording 2 tracks at the same time

Basically I recently purchased an Audio Interface (BEHRINGER XENYX Q802 USB) and I'm having trouble recording multiple tracks at the same time while using it.
When I set up 2 MONO tracks in my DAW (one using input 1, the other using input 2) all that happens is that I get a recording of one mic over both tracks in my DAW.
This is probably a beginner post and I have looked it up on YouTube etc. but it just doesn't work for me... Maybe it has something to do with my Interface, but any help will be much appreciated.
