How can I recover an earlier version of an Apple Notes document

Hello,
I must have deleted an earlier version of an Apple Notes document.
My Mac is running OS X version 10.9.2. Apple Notes runs on my Macbook Pro and my Iphone 4S, and I've seen my Apple Notes documents on Icloud.
However, the particular  doucment I am loooking for has been superceded by later versions on my Macbook Pro, Iphone 4S & on Icloud.
Is there any way to recover a much-needed earlier version somehow?
As a very poor alternative I used to use Time Machine until my Macbook Pro reached it's limit; My last backup goes back to Jan. of this year. Is there a way to recover this Apple Notes document via Time Machine? I really wouldn't know where to look for Apple Notes douments on Time Machine. Like I said, I'd prefer to recover the Apple Notes document that I erroneously deleted today but as a poor 2nd if I can recover that same document, although 6 month's older, beggars can't be choosy.
Thanks for any/all advice.
Jim

If you synchronize Notes with iCloud, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Notes. If you sync Notes with another mail service, disable that in the Internet Accounts or Mail, Contacts & Calendars preference pane. You may be warned that notes stored on the server will be deleted. If you trust your backups, confirm. Leave the window open.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.apple.Notes" selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash, then restore it from a backup that predates the unwanted change. If you back up with Time Machine, enter it and select the snapshot from which you want to restore.
Log out or restart and empty the Trash.
Re-enable synchronization in System Preferences, if you disabled it.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • HT5422 Can I install an earlier version of the Apple Remote Desktop from a disc on OSX 10.7.5?

I cannot install an earlier version of the Apple Remote Desktop from a disc on my OSX 10.7.5 It says that the installation requires an earlier OSX version.
I cannot upgrade with the RemoteDesktopAdmin361 available on line, since no Remote Desktop application exists. Any suggestions?

Assuming your disk is for ARD 3.x, try this:
    • Insert your ARD CD
    • Open in Finder
    • Right click on the Remote Desktop.mpkg and show contents
    • Navigate to contents/installers
    • Drag the RemoteDesktopAdmin.pkg file onto the workstation and install
    • Run Software Update
    • Upgrade to the latest version of the admin application before attempting to launch the app

  • How can I recover a useable version of iPhoto to work with 10.5

My wife uses my G4 Powerbook for email, eBay and photos. A few days ago iPhoto disappeared from the machine (sounds crazy but it happened), the photos were still there. As the Powerbook runs on 10.5 the version of iPhoto on my other machines will not run. I used the original backup disc to re-install everything (10.2) and then upgraded through 10.4 to 10.5 but iPhoto is version 2 which is incompatible with 10.5. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can upgrade to a workable version of iPhoto?

Usually, you'd get and use a retail iPhoto version which would be part
of the iLife suite of apps. Since there are a few different older versions
of iLife, some better suited for use in aging PowerPC G4 Macs, you
may need to do some research as to which one(s) may work best for
use in that PowerBook G4. The vintage hardware is a possible issue.
Since there were several PBook G4 models, across some years, to guess
at what the configuration of your machine is, won't happen this early AM.
Some iLife software sets prefer certain hardware equipment to exist in a
computer for best results when considering the use of iLife's apps.
You may find an iLife version '06 to '08 adequate; and if you are not needing
the other apps included, just install iPhoto and then get the updates online.
However, if you may need the other apps, these tend to share between them
selves, so a compatible suite (upgrade old iLife bits; if they exist, remove.)
Files created in an older version usually will also be updated when opened
by a newer version of an iLife app; however they won't go back again to be
opened or used in an old version after such a conversion process.
Also, if you have a suitable software set not in use in any other computer, yet
capable of containing an iPhoto version (in PPC discarded restore/install disc)
you could experiment with using Pacifist to extract the correct section and use
that utility to also install iPhoto from the desktop of the computer, from a non-
    booted install DVD. You can look into the Install/restore disc set via Pacifist;
just don't attempt to use Intel-based Mac software in a PPC-based Mac via
this utility; and do not use a software set already installed.
I've experimented before with a discarded eMac G4 restore/install disc set
some years ago, and was able to install some software using Pacifist into
an iBook G3 500 (white) to match a later OS X version it didn't ship with.
So, sometimes it is possible in a pinch or dire necessity, to make stuff work.
There is no legal full iPhoto download available, only updates to retail or
versions included with certain install/restore disc sets for specific machines.
At some point, it would seem that when your computer was upgraded to a
newer OS X, the iPhoto app may have been moved into a 'previous system'
folder since it probably wasn't compatible anymore at whatever upgrade that
had taken place; not all apps are compatible. The Support site has info on
the iLife sections and what they need to be supported in a computer & an OS.
You could check into some online resellers of Mac software sets, to see if they
have an iLife 06 or 08 set for sale. I bought five Mac items: keyboard, OS X 10.5,
iLIfe 06, Garageband extras, & iWork, all software in retail packages; for $50 total.
So, the luck of checking any local ads & being careful, you may find iPhoto cheap.
Sometimes, craigslist or other local second-hand or a thrift store may have stuff.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How can I get an earlier version of iphoto?

I accidentally deleted iphoto from my mac, and need to reinstall an earlier version then the one currently offered at the App Store that requires me to upgrade to Maverick. Any suggestions? I have a macbook Pro, that I purchased after 2011 and so the software was automatically loaded on my computer when I got it. I do not have the original CDs.

    the choices are to
    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer - if it came with CDs and you do not know where they are then contact Apple to see if they can be replaced
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first
    Or
Purchase an iLife DVD for the version you need - eBay and Amazon are potential sources (going to #2 for the future)

  • How can I return to earlier version of Edge animate?

Since upgrading to Edge Animate 3 CC, I have not been able to work on my project. Is there a way to go back to an earlier version?
I uninstalled and installed an earlier version, but the file will not open, because it says that it was created in a newer version of Edge. Is there a way around this? Can I change something on the files in edge code that will identify the file as being from the earlier version?
I have been able to get any work done on this project since the beginning of Feb.

I was able to download Edge Animate CC 2.0 by logging onto my paid cloud account. Then I opened the edge.js file in Edge code and replaced the part where it identifies the version with...
    version: "2.0.1",
       minimumCompatibleVersion: "2.0.0",
       build: "2.0.1.268"
I had to do this once for the main stage and once for each symbol.
There is a drop down that only shows if you're logged into a paid cloud account, and you can choose to download the older version. It is installed to a new folder, so you can still run the newer version as well.

  • How can I keep the earlier versions without having Firefox automatically upgraded?

The earlier versions of Firefox operate normally burt as soon as you upgraded Firefox to recent upgrades such as versiion 7.01,I started to get a messae that says "this is so embarassing. Firefox will have to close." Also, Firefox wants to send the error report to Microsoft. I would prefer to keep the earlier versions of Firefox because these versions did not encounter this problem.
the earlier versioins of''' I know several of my friends that have this same problem and they have switched to Microsoft's Internet Explorer. I, too, have done the same but I prefer Firefox and would like to find a solution to this problem.

Perfect - easy. Thanks very much

  • Can I download an earlier version due to apps not working with 4 & 5 ?

My computer got a virus, and in the process of fixing the problem, my Firefox version ( 3.6 ) was deleted. I was using this earlier version of Firefox pre-Firefox 4 & pre-Firefox 5. I did not upgrade because a service I was using ( IKEA kitchen planning ) is not enabled for 4 or 5 at this time. The IKEA planning site is very important & necessary for me at this time.
    Thanks

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, get the Firefox 3.6 installer here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
You should be able to install Firefox 3.6 over whatever later version you installed. If you do choose to uninstall first, do ''not'' remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • How can I reinstall the earlier version that should have been replaced by the new version but has been wiped off of my 10.4.11 and left me with only sufari mac

I attempted to install the new version of Firefox as it would not load my Hotmail account. I clicked 'replace' only to be told the new version could not be installed; I now have no Firefox at all to run on my (10.4.11) Mac Book Pro.
Can anyone let me know if I can reload my previous version of Firefox to use for internet purposes?
    Thanks.

Current Firefox versions require an Intel processor, which you have, '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.6, 10.7 or 10.8, you have OSX 10.4.11.
*OSX 10.5 and lower version numbers are no longer supported by Apple, you no longer receive stability or security updates from Apple, and using those old versions expose you to significant security risks online.
*Additionally, more and more software will not work with the old versions of OSX.
    *See - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-10-4-or-powerpc
    *See - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/20.0/system-requirements/
One suggestion in the first article above is to continue using Firefox 3.6.28 (no longer supported) and could expose you to known security risks online while using Firefox 3.6.28. <u>All Firefox versions that will run under OSX 10.5 and lower make you vulnerable to attack by hackers when you are online.</u>
    Your best option:
    #upgrade OSX to 10.6 or 10.7 or 10.8
#<s>try using TenFourFox, a third-party build of Firefox for older OSX versions ('''''may not take away the associated risk of using the older OSX versions''''')
    #*See - http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
#*Plugins not supported (extensions are supported), and there are options on this page as to how to install replacements for Adobe Flash and Quicktime, if you use those Plugins - https://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported</s>

  • How can I find an earlier version of iTunes that will work for my new iPod

I am writing this for my technophobe friend. He has an older iBook g3, version 10.2xx. It came installed with itunes 4. He just bought a nano iPod, which I believe requires a newer version of iTunes. he downloaded 7.6, and it will not woprk with his older 10.2 OS. Where can he find a version of iTunes that will be compatible with his older system, and still operate his iPod?
    Thank you,
    Tom

I really almost no experience with this but from casual reading I suspect he may be in a bind. 10.2 is relatively long in the tooth in the OSX world and I think the new iPods really require you have the OS to run the iTunes they want. I see posts about people upgrading to Tiger so they can run their ipods and I think that's the story.

You need to either buy a newer Mac OS X version or install iLife 11 from a DVD; if desired, contact the Mac App Store support.
