How do I remove my email address from the lock screen? My dad bought me a new laptop after mine was stolen from my house on New Year's Eve. I'm a little tighter on my security now and when I turn on my laptop the lock screen shows me my name and my email
address. If my laptop gets stolen again, I don't want my email address to be displayed for someone to use or sell as I'm extremely picky about what I'm giving out my email for. If there isn't a way to hide my email address, I'm going to demand a "downgrade"
from this Windows 8 s**t and back to the more user-friendly and less confusing Windows 7. (And for the record, I hate Windows 8. With a passion.)

How can i remove the email account without deleting the email account?

I have an old email account which I want to remove from Mail, which I know how to do. However I don't want to delete these emails but rather park them off-site so that if I ever need them again I can easily re-import. By removing the email account in preferences it says it will delete all the emails etc. from my computer. Is my only solution to copy the emails to a different location, then delete the account and if needed re-import at a later date?

You can do a couple of things.
You can Export the emails to a .mbox file then Import them in which will create an Import folder in Mail; then delete your email account. Or you can just disable the email account leaving it in your list of accounts only disabled.

I created an appleID account to use with the mac AppStore without realising i previously had an appleID account from my first iPod touch.
Now with OSX 10.8 I want to use the email address from the old account with the new account for Messages.app without having to manage 2 logins.
I've followed the steps found on the support page http://support.apple.com/kb/HE68 under the section "How to add an additional email address that is already associated with another Apple ID" but each time I attempt to add the removed email address from the new account to the old account the input box shows the error: Email address is already verified for another Apple ID.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a solution?

Changing the password would only block them from accessing the iCloud information. They would still have access to the local copy on thier phone. To delete the local information, you would need to go to Settings>iCloud on the phone, tap Delete Account, then choose Delete from My iPhone. (This only deletes the iCloud account and data from the phone, not from iCloud.) This, obviously, must be done during the exit process as it requires access to the phone.

Everytime I go and send an email from maverick mail the window from (thats me) has a misspelt address in it and my email often chooses this hence it wont send. I can send this mail by dropping the window down and choosing the rite address i.e. FROM.

I am saying instead of manually having to type in your various emails which result in a list popping up including your error-
You need to create a list of emails you use. Therfore you do not have to type everytime you go to send a email, you just choose your correct email from the drop down menu. Simply click of the mouse.
I see now the correct path should read:
Mail>Preference>Accounts>Accounts information>>Email Address
I am suggesting this is the easiest way of dealing with the problem and why would you not already have your list of emails at hand in the drop down menu for ease of work flow.
You maybe able to route out the cache file if you prefer, and delete:

i got a new large drive for my expanding music collection. backed up to it, then went to preferences and changed where the library resides to the new drive..opened itunes and got a bunch of ? marks near my songs [ perhaps i didn't wait till they disappeared ] and then went to users>music [ on the drive i was moving from ] and dragged the "itunes music" file into the opened itunes on the desktop. Now i have duplicates of everything AND when i have both drives running [old and new] and play each individual song, each song will play from each drive. HOW DO I GET BACK TO ONE OF EACH SONG? I have thought of wiping the new drive clean and starting fresh .. but do i need to do that?

Recently my computer for some reason restarted iTunes and reimported everything.
When I plugged in my iPhone to sync, it readded all my music.
I now have duplicates of almost everything. There's over 4000 songs, so I'd really like to avoid having to manually delete each one by swiping.
I've tried unsyncing music and then adding it again many many times (it worked for my iPod Nano which had the same problem), but that hasn't helped.

Go to settings > General > Usage > and then try deleting the 'music' section under storage (swipe to delete).
