How can I remove print margins when manually setting them to zero doesn't work?
I'm trying to print a web page that I've created with a custom paper size of 4.5x10.25 inches. I want the page to be printed right to the edge of the paper, with no margins at all.
I've been reading for a few days and the best thing I can find is to use Mac's Page Setup dialog to create a custom paper size and custom margins, which I've done and set to the default for all of my printers. (Hopefully I'm able to post links to images --> http://i.imgur.com/kVbOZLk.png). No matter what I do though I can't get the margins to go away. There's always always always a .75 inch margin when I print and when I print preview (Again, hoping I can post links to images --> http://i.imgur.com/cxlVS8o.png). Just to note: The same thing happens printing other websites and documents (i.e it is not a problem with my website).
Things I've tried:
I've read that the margins are only visible in print preview and printing the page will remove them. This didn't work.
I've tried tricking the system by setting my margins to 0.01 inches
I've tried adjusting the website to not be exactly the size of the page (I made it smaller) and the margins were still there.
I've set "print.print_extra_margin" to 0 in Firefox's about:config page.
I've tried a different printer.
I've tried a co-worker's machine running a newer version of OSX.
I've made absolutely sure that my page size it set correctly.
I'm using OSX 10.6.8 with Firefox v21.0.
The closest I can come to this is using Google Chrome, where there is a specific option for "none" in margins and the Chrome preview looks okay, but I'm not able to specify paper size unless I click "Print using system dialog" which gives me the same problems as above.
How do I remove the margins and just fit to the exact size of the page?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
Does your Print dialog offer photo 'borderless printing' settings for various paper sizes?
Every photo printer I've ever encountered leaves some unprintable margin, unless 'borderless' and/or 'photo' media are specifically selected.
On many of the Canon inkjet color printers I've used, borderless printing is only available when one of the photo papers is selected, even when a custom size specified that is smaller than the actual paper, trying to make it 'borderless'
I stitch together and print panoramas of theatre sets for my local community theater, so I end up with an image about 4.5 inches by 11.5 inches to be printed.
Selecting a photo and opening in Preview and selecting 'Fill Entire Paper' illustrates the standard unprintable borders for my specific printer.
When I open the panoramic image in Preview, I get this print preview. (The set image is of course rotated left)
By selecting Letter and Borderless in the Paper Size dialog for my Canon MG5320 printer, I get this result.
This particular Canon printer of course does NOT actually 'know' what paper is inserted, but the ink is applied assuming that a photo paper is being used, so it will saturate a standard paper.
Hope this helps!

Hit the num lock button again. Num lock forces only the numeric keypad underlying keys to work as a numeric keypad, and the rest of the keyboard won't work. Unfortunately Apple stopped including the numeric keypad hidden keyboard key labels on its keyboards. They used to include them. They are known as mouse keys: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/cdb_moskys.html

You can't. Either get your phone fixed at a third-party repair shop, or go to an Apple store & they will replace your phone for US $199.

The tool bar has a category "most Visited" sites and lists the top site. How can I remove this? Clearing the history has not accomplished this.
Hi,
Usually the category is emptied when the entire history range is erased. You can also permanently remove the '''Most Visited''' category by right-clicking on it and '''Delete'''.

How can I generate printer spreads when using an Indesign Book?
Our design team utilizes the Indesign Book feature to tackle magazine design. This convenient feature has become part of our workflow for both print and dps versions of the content since we do not work in the same locations yet share design responsibility. We're able to see when someone else is working in a "chapter" and keep our overall content synced.
Is there a way from the Indesign Book palette to generate a pdf that is in printer's spreads? The export options included within the Book Palette appear geared to reader spreads only. It seems the only automated option is to work from 1 large Indesign file and use the File > Print Booklet option. Is there a better solution that is geared more toward the Indesign Book user that offers the same outcome without a lot of manual work?I usually (when needed as sometimes is) export the entire book to a PDF using the pdf settings- bleeds etc. but I don't include inside bleeds.
I then create a new document the original size - and use the MultiPage importer script http://indesignsecrets.com/zanelli-releases-multipageimporter-for-importing-both-pdf-and-i ndd-files.php
You can then offset the PDF to the bleed using a negative value in the placement options (it's tricky to get the hang of this so try a few pages first)
Then I can use File>Print Booklet and Choose PDF.
It's a hack and a half but it can work - but I'd never send this particular file to a printers to be printed.
As always - be careful. -
HT3771 How do I adjust print margins when printing from Safari?
When I try to print email from Safari, my messages go all the way to the edge of the paper and get cut off. I can't find any page set up adjustments for margins when in Safari, like I can in other software (Word, Excel, etc.). All I can find are page size, orientation, etc.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We're all users here.
Let me hazard a wild guess that you're using Outlook, formerly Hotmail, for email in your web browser.
When the forced 'downgrade' from Hotmail to Outlook occurred, they decided to hide some frequently used commands and made simple message printing from a browser print command nearly impossible, at least for Mac users.
The trick is to use the Print command now hidden within the Outlook menu bar.
It's in the "..." section of the Outlook top menu bar following Categories along with "Mark Read, Mark Unread, Flag, Unflag, and View Message Source".
Select Print from there, it will open a new Outlook Print Message window. You should once again be able to print emails in their entirety. -
How can i remove MobileMe now when I am using iCloud
And why can't I synk Notes whitout a [email protected] account/adress ??
Followup question. How do I remove my old MobileMe account and the [email protected] adress??
/JesperIf you bought the apps then that is one problem, but I am wondering if you bought the machine with all the apps installed already since you said the previous owner removed only his data? If so then that is not supported by Apple. The apps "belong" to the account that purchased them and that is the account that has to be logged in to get updates to them as well.
If that sounds like your situation then I am afraid you will have to delete any apps that you haven't purchased yourself. If you leave them on the machine then you won't be able to update them and they will eventually stop working. You should also make sure the computer is deauthorised in the App stiore and then re-authorised with your account and you ought to check if it is registered under "Find my Mac" to your iCloud ID or the previous owner's. This last one matters if the unit is stolen or if his account gets compromised someone could wipe the computer you have bought from him. -
How do I remove automatic margins when using list tags?
Hi there,
i'm trying to create a list of links on my webpage using Dreamweaver CS4. I've created a .li tag using CSS so that no bullets/numbers show up and i've then created .ul a:link, ul a:hover etc compound tags to make all list items into rollovers.
However, the text in the lists indents automatically (as if I have set some sort of margin) and is thus, out of line with the text above it. No margin/padding is set in any of the CSS elements so I am confused.
Any help would be appreciated.yeah sure...

How to reboot a guest domain when hung and ldm stop-domain doesn't work
Hi, the configuration is as follows.
SF T1000 (32 threads/16gb) memory
Latest Firmware and the LDOM patch (-02) applied.
This is how the LDOMs are setup.
Instance CPUs Memory
Service domain 4 2g
ldom1 4 2g
ldom2 4 2g

All guest domains are running on disk-images on mirrored BE on service domain. Size around 7 gb and SUNWCXall installed.
However, I have had a few hangs, especially when working over the virtual switch on the domains.
At the moment ldom1 is totally hung. See below for info:

I purchased Acrobat Pro for Mac on Amazon. When I try to register with the registration code they give me, it doesn't work. (It has letters and the registration boxes won't accept letters.) How do I get this to work?
If you don't have original install disks for your Mac, you can order replacements disks directly from Apple at a nominal cost. The original install DVDs are required to reset the password.
If you have no data on your drive that you want to keep, you can boot up from the OSX Snow Leopard disk and install OSX SL.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and hold the C key during startup. The Mac should boot from the CD/DVD drive into the installer.
Follow the prompts, erase the disk and install OSX Snow Leopard.
