How can I restore my data from iTunes? It won't recognize my Password.
The Apple Store reset my iPhone 4 today and told me that I would be able to restore all of my data via iTunes restore. I have been going crazy because the "restore from backup" will not recognize my password. All other aspects of iTunes recognize it, but not Restore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Quit iTunes if it is running. Transfer your iTunes folder from the /Music/ folder on the old computer to the /Music/ folder on the new computer.
You can connect the two computers using Firewire and Target Disk Mode.

If you forgot your encryption password:
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.
If you can't remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and chooseset up as a new device when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore.

iTunes does prompt when it is going to erase a device, and the message is clear.
She said in her message that she was able to successfully sync the old ipad. This indicated to me that itunes wiping the data was not an issue, because either it had been setup at the apple store (in which case it doesn't actually wipe the ipad despite saying it will*) (*based on a single case I saw), or because the itunes media folder was migrated.
Furthermore, my solution was to tell her how to backup her ipad (by either doing it manually, or as a last resort, by deleting the corrupt backup -- that she couldn't access anyway.)
I got that last part of the instructions from the "Taking Control of your iphone" book which I found samples of when I did a google search for "corrupted backup itunes".
She marked this as a solution, so it worked for her. -

How can I restore my data from a backup with different Phone name?
I recently had to restore my iphone which erased all the data. I have a backup of that data in iTunes and I want to restore it to the phone. However when I connected the phone to iTunes the first time after resetting everything, I accidently chose to create a new phone instead of restore settings and data from the backup.
My question is, how can I restore the iPhone from this previous backup? My iPhone is currently called "untitled playlist" and the backup is called "JC's iPhone".

If you restore again, you will be prompted to choose a backup or setup as a new phone again. Then you can just choose your old backup.

How can I restore the data from a single application in icloud?
Here is my situation. My iPad2 is constantly crashing. Whenever I use an app it runs for about 30 seconds and then the screen blinks black and I go back to my my home screen. At first I erased all the data and settings and tried to restore my backup from icloud. When I did this, it started crashing again right away. Then I erased all the data and reset it to run as a new ipad. In doing this, I redownloaded all my apps and everything is working fine. However, I have about a years worth of data in NoteShelf (note taking app) that is on icloud but that I cannot access. How can I just restore the data from that one app?

When you restore from an iCloud backup, you have to erase the device first, then set up the iPad again using the iCloud backup. If you tried this and the entries did not download to the iPad - they are gone. They should be in the backup - but if they were not restored, then they apparently are gone.
If you still have access to a computer go to your icloud.com account using a web browser and look in the calendar to see if the entries are in there. -

I just lost my IPhone 4S 32GB. Using find my IPhone app in iCloud, realised that, because of being shut down immediately after loosing, there will be no chance to get it back. So I choosed to remote delete all data from that device.
Although one day later I still had all my data in iCloud, after another two days everything was lost! After another day, I was able to see only one contact in my contact list, as well as calender activities up to one month before loosing the phone.
As sync was activated also with my outlook, I have there an empty database as well.
Mails are also missing, from all the servers (even if for one of them IMAP was the setting), also for the last month.

This can appear to happen if you are saving them to multiple locations
Notes can be saved to
Email accounts
iCloud
iPhone or device
You most likely lost access to one of the sources of Notes.
Make sure that each of the accounts that can use notes has them turned on.

If you own this iPhone, and were the original owner, and it's your Apple ID and password that are used on Find My iPhone, then go to http://www.icloud.com/find and remove your iPhone from Find My iPhone that way.
But I suspect it is someone else's Apple ID and password being requested. You will need to contact that person, otherwise, your iPhone will remain Activation Locked as described here:

Connect the old phone to your computer, right click on it in iTunes, and choose Transfer Purchases. That should put all of your music in iTunes except any tracks that were not purchased from iTunes. Having a bad day my iTunes library got corrupted and my back up disk has failed how can I restore my purchases from the iTunes store? When I try it tells me the pruchases have already been downloaded to this computer.
Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
