I updated vietmobile remote files app. this app is broken on iOS 5.1.1 I do not have a backup of the previous version of the (paid) app, how can I roll back to the previous version? Is there a repository of previous versions? Am I boned?
Seems silly to not allow a rollback from a file repository of previous app versions.>All apps are tied to the account that downloaded it, so to be able to sync back the previous version you would need to still have your copy of that version
I'm not sure I follow, I have not sync'd the ipad with my computer. I just saw an update in the app store and took it.
I tried to del and install the app from the purchased tab in the app store, that reinstalled v2.1 of the app. This also fails to launch.
I have made two service requests to the developer, no response at this time.
Is there somewhere I can download and install Remote Files version 2 file? I can only find the new version 2.1 in the app store. -
I deleted the latest version of Firefox 3.6 in order to try to download Firefox version 4.0. The download of version 4.0 was unsuccessful, probably because I have an old iBook G4 (10.4.11). How can I reinstall/download the most recent version of Firefox 3.6?

How can I roll back from 3.0 to 2.21 ???
Since the update to 3.0, the app NetInfo doesn't work on my Iphone (company mobile) any more. I cannot sync with the Exchange server of my company any more. I wasn't allowed to do any changes or updates. So if I tell the IT-Service I will get into serious trouble.
So please tell me how I can restore to the old firmware version (I trusted apple when I did the update, so please help me).

EugeniusI get disappointed when I see problems like this. I have updated two iPhone 3G and two iPod Touch without the slightest hint of a problem and I know many more who have had no issues too.
What disappoints me is the immediate desire to return to a lesser past than to solve the problem and share the learning, nothing to do with whether X or Y was somehow falling-short.
Perhaps the NetInfo app wasn't quite so 3.0 compatible as its developers thought? I've found about 15% of the ones that I've bought fall into THAT category! I've also found that there are developers with apps that will be ONLY 3.0+ compatible, so staying at 2.2.1 (or lower) would not be an option.
Most problems CAN be solved - not least of all with Exchange by deleting the account on the iPhone and creating a new one (ideally AFTER a reset!).
If you're encountering problems with your IT then you're probably not alone, so why not have a go at finding out?

When I click on the Music tab on my Apple TV 2, a message tells me I have to set up iTunes Match to stream music from my iTunes library on my iMac. I don't want to set up and pay for iTunes Match. You need to look for your itunes library under Computers and select it, then music.
Music column is for web based content not local content, just to confuse everyone.

Once you are in Recovery Mode, it's too late to do any backup. I am afraid you are going to lose your data.

If you are in thumbnail view in the Camera Roll, tap the Edit button in the upper right corner. Tap the photos that you want to add to the existing album. Tap - Add To - in the upper right corner and then tap - Existing Album.
You can only add camera roll photos to albums that you have created on the iPad. You cannot add them to albums that you synced from iTunes. -

This morning we did our monthly take-down-the-server-run-all-the-software-updates, and it included "Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 16" Now our java software is totally hosed.

(We have Update15, but, a) apple has removed it from the support downloads site, and b) 16 came really fast after 15 -- so I suspect that 15 is broken somehow. The guessing game is a little annoying -- an article on the support page that would come up when you search for java for 10.6 update 15 saying that apple has removed the update and don't install it if you downloaded it would be, well, courteous!)
Note -- this seems to have worked just fine to clean up whatever update 16 broke for us, but I suspect that we could have used pacifist to install updates 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and then 14 and been really really likely to undo whatever bad thing update 16 did.
Another note... Got into this mess because I was trying to minimize downtime. I've never had a problem with a java update before so I got greedy/sloppy. Sure plenty of OTHER people have had problems with java updates, but, well, what is that old saying?

The only way photos are stored in icloud is in a backup from an ios device. This assumes that icloud backup was turned on and that camera roll was turned on. Note that photo stream is a slightly different service that is used to sync photos from one device to another, it's not really a storage service.
To retrieve photos that are in a backup, you need to reset a device (wipe all data from it) and perform a restore. Note that many users have had problems getting their photos back from a backup - for one reason or another. Remember, the suggested way of storing photos is to sync them to a computer or service like Dropbox.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup. -

Restore from the backup you had prior to installing Mavericks.
However, the upgrade should not have altered your partition scheme. Did your erase and format the drive prior to upgrading?
