How can i save an extracted image to be able to edit it

How can I save an extracted image in pse9 to be able to edit it - i.e. move it around on the layer to another spot and also to be able to resize it to make it bigger or smaller before repasting it back into another image/background?
Thanks

A really simple method is to use the quick selection tool to outline a person or object in a photo. Holding down the alt key changes the tool action from plus to minus - so you can perfect your selection as you go along (e.g. if you accidentally select part of the background)
When you are happy with your selection of the person or object press Ctrl+J - this will automatically create a new transparent layer with your selection as shown by the checkerboard background.
You can then add any other picture or background - here I’ve used a simple green background to illustrate the point by selecting Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color
I then clicked on the transparent layer in the layer pallet and dragged it to the top - to reveal the green background behind my person selection.
I then selected the hand tool and the bounding box appeared - by holding down the shift key you can drag the corner handles or sides of the bounding box to resize and then click the green checkmark to confirm OK. You can then drag the image to any position in the frame of your chosen background. Save as PSD to keep your layers for later or click Layer > Flatten Image to save as Jpeg.

  • How can I save a PSD image 'full size' in a PDF doc for printing

I have a Photoshop image we've created that will be taken to the printer for a 3x6 banner. I need to save it as a PDF document, but when I do, it doesn't save as the original size of the image. I'm a total novice, so can someone help me with instructions to creat the PDF with the appropriate size image for the printing company to create the banner?

Seconded! I have a 1039x697 PSD which comes out as a 249x167 PDF! Every time! What am I doing wrong?

  • How can I save front panel images each time a loop iterates

So I've been working on some optical codes in LabVIEW for a while, I've read a lot of these similar questions but I can't seem to apply them directly to my situation in all cases.
I essentially have a code that shows an intensity graph that is continually modified in a for loop, I want to save a picture of that intensity graph each loop without having to manually label them. Is there something similar to the get image node that can do this. I've looked through the image acquisition in the vision VIs but only see references to hardware like cameras.
Attached is a simplified version of a changing intensity graph. With the get image I have to establish the names of 10 images and the path there before it will run and save like I want it to.
A million thanks to anyone who can help

    Sample image save.vi ‏19 KB

That worked wonderfully and is exactly what I need for the phase diagrams Im working with. I have a new and similar issue, I do have a camera showing us our laser source in a CCD image within my code. I was hoping to get a picture of that each iteration and hoped the solution you provided would work for both but the CCD jpgs are just black. I'm assuming I may have to use a different acquiring technique with that but dont know the best way to go.
Any help there? I cant really post a VI since the camera stuff wouldnt work but heres a screen shot of the front panel and the CCD image that id like to capture.

  • How can I "save as" image in iPhoto to thumb drive?

I am most comfortable on my PC, so let me ask this question this way:  How can I "save as" an image in iPhoto to a thumb drive?
I have 50-plus photos I want to transfer from the iPhoto library to my thumb drive.  But when I try to export an image it does not allow me to select the thumb drive as an option, even though the little thumb drive is stuck in the iMac's rear just fine.
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

    THis is iMarkM again.
when I drag an image from iPhoto file to icon for my thumb drive, sometimes the image drops into thumb drive, other times nothing happens.  What's the best way to drag and drop without creating a clutter of thumbnail images on the computer screen surrounding or on top of the icon for the thumb drive?

  • How can I save the project?

I asked before how can I create 3D canvas looking image
and Terri gave me this tutorial, which worked very nice.
    http://www.rtbmediaonline.com/blog/?p=129
Now my question is if and how can I save this entire project to be
able to apply it later to other images without going through the process manually with each image ???

One way you can do this is by using Actions. You can record a set of modifications you apply to an image, save the action and play it later for another image, or even apply it to a batch of images.
Press F9 to open the Actions Panel.
    Then, create a New Action...
Name it, and change the settings. Here you can assign a Keyboard Shortcut for your new Action:
Then, click Record to begin recording.
Follow all of the steps in the tutorial, then Stop the Action:
Now you can play the action again for any image!

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
If you want to back up the Photos only:
Export them using the File -> Export command.

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I updated to one of the firefox versions (Not sure which one it was)

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

  • How can I save my images like a "wedding photographer" does?

    I have a Pixma PRO-100. . . with a Windows 8.1 PC. . . and printing through Adobe Photoshop Elements 11.
I just printed some wedding pictures of my daughter - which I got from the "wedding photographer"... when I printed them - they were an exact match to what I saw on my screen (which I've calibrated)... and dead on crisp, great quality.
I'm wondering what a wedding photographer does to their images to make them so "solid" in printing.  How do they save them?
when I print something from a my files, (Raw, NEF, or JPEG's) - there always seems to be a color or quality problem? Never a match.  It takes several adjustments and print samples before I get what I want.
Is the ICC Profile a problem - or How can I save my images like a wedding photog does?  So they print exact?
    Joe B

    " ... (Raw, NEF, or JPEG's) ... "
I suspect there are some minor differences you are not seeing and/or noticing on screen.  But right off, no real wedding photographer will shoot in anything except RAW.  You should be using RAW, only, too.  The RAW file to start with has way more info in it than any jpeg does.
Next I would bet your wedding photographer does some tweaking to highlights and shadows, plus s ome other stuff that you are not.  In other words he is getting the photos ready for printing. Remember printing on paper and "printing for on screen" is two different things.

  • How can I save the 12-bits gray scale image ?

    Software & Hardware
    NI-IMAQ Vision 6.0
    NI-IMAQ for 1394 2.0.0
    Hamamatsu C4742-95
    I acqured the 12-bits gray scale image (Format7 , 640X512 size , 12bits) successfully.
And CWIMAQViewer display the correct image of which the range is from 0(black) to 4096(white).
But, I don't find the way to save this image with 12-bits format T.T
Always, CWIMAQVision object save this image to 8-bit format.
I tested all formats - tiff, bmp, aip, png.
I think there are two possible problems.
    1. I dont't know the way to save the 12bits gray scale image. :{
    2. I dont't know the way to read the 12bits gray scale image that saved correctly.
How can I save and load the 12-bits gray scale image ?
What is the solution for this problem T.T ?

    Hello,
I would recommend taking a look at the "ReadImage" Visual Basic project for more information on setting the image type and saving the image to file.  When you run the program, make sure you select 16 bit for your image.  You can also add another button to this example for saving the image.  Within the click subroutine for the button, you can add the line:
    CWIMAQVision1.WritePNGFile CWIMAQViewer1.Image, "C://image.png"
This method will save the image in the viewer as a png file.  As long as it was loaded as a 16 bit image, it should save all of the 12 bit information into the file.  You could then test the new image by loading it using the example (you can see the pixel values by right-clicking on the viewer and selecting Settings>>Show Image Info.  The pixel value displayed in the info bar corresponds to the mouse position.
