How can i set up a apple id account for my child without a credit card?

Hi i have set up family sharing but now want to set up a apple id for my daughter. i have attempted to do this but i do not have a credit card only my visa debit card or visa electron. I was wondering if there is any way i can set one up for her ipod with just one of my cards? I really dont want to lie about her age just to create one

Creating an Apple ID for a child requires the use of a credit card for your payment method in Family Sharing. See this article -

Specifcally -
Before you begin, make sure that you're using a credit card as your iTunes Store and App Store payment method. To comply with child online privacy protection laws, you will use the CVV or security code from a valid credit card as part of providing your parental consent. If the card on file is a debit card or another payment method, you’ll be asked to provide a credit card before you can continue. After you create the child's Apple ID, you can change your payment method back to a debit card.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

I setup an iCloud account and now I do not have a 'none' option for payment type. This is a business computer, so I can not put a credit card on the account. But without a credit card to put in the Apple Id account, I can not update much of the software, even though it was pre-installed on the laptop and not purchased through the App Store.

I've read that manual & I tried: there is NO OPTION to select None, whatever way I try.
Perhaps there is an issue with the newer iPod Touch OS version (tried this on a brand new iPod, iOS version 5.0.1)?

You already have an Apple ID, or you wouldn't be posting here. I presume you mean an iTunes Store account. If you only want the free apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free content without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

I think I understand what you mean. You were asked if you wanted to merge the contacts with your iCloud account. Contacts take up very little room and are probably not the reason that your iCloud is full. If you're now backing up two devices to iCloud rather than one, that will indeed take up more room.
You cannot undo the contact merge. You can go to Settings>iCloud on either device and see what categories of stuff you're backing up and make selections. You can also purchase more iCloud space there.
