How can I stop my home page from opening OVER a page from a link I just clicked on?

If I click on a link from an email, Firefox always opens 2 pages with my home page (Google) covering up the page I clicked the link to go to. How can I stop it from doing that?

There's a good chance this is related to a bug that kicks in when you do not have Flash running in any tab and you open a new window to a page that does use Flash: suddenly, the previous window (typically the one from which you launched the link or bookmark) comes back to the front.

When you open a local file with Flash Content that links to a website, that warning is automatic, because it's one of the top ways viruses are delivered. If you "trust" the local file in the Global Settings, the warning goes away. It's that simple.

Typing o and / gives me a slashed o (ø) instead of the two characters. How can I stop this? I am a newbie to Pages.

If you didn't already did, download the free trial of iWork '09.
It will install a set of fonts which replace most of the old AppleWorks ones.
It may be why I was unable to reproduce your problem.

Because when I started using it in OS 10.6, lots of things broke (menu items stopped working) and there is a 10-15 second delay every 10 to 15 seconds during which the program becomes unresponsive. This makes it unusable for me. Do you know of a fix for these problems?
I use AW 6.2.9 everyday under 10.6.8.
I got two kind of problems :
(1) Running PPC code via Rosetta is more critical than running a true PPC processor.
So, in databases I can't click in a field if it isn't entirely visible.
If I do that, the application quits.
(2) Applescripts must use the exact features described in the AppleScript dictionary.
For instance, the open command is described as requiring an alias to define the object to open.
On a true PPC machine,

I don't believe that there is any way to set the order of selection of known available networks. Your solution of changing your network name may be the best available workaround.

How can I stop Pages automatically detecting and converting hyperlinks

Whenever I type or insert a web address or email address in Pages 5.1 it automatically converts it to a hyperlink. Even if I edit it and remove the link, it still adds it back again later while editing the document. How can I stop this happening?

How can I stop tab order get changed/switched?

I am on 10g platform. I have a page with 2 tabs [tab A (1st tab) and tab B (2nd tab)] and need to navigate to another page from tab B and come back to tab B and display tab B which I achieved using “disclosed” property. However the problem I face is that the tab order get changed/switched (tab B become 1st and tab A become 2nd) when I come back from the other page to tab B. How can I stop tab order get changed/switched?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for jzip via the Filter at the top of the about:config page. 
You can reset all jzip related prefs that appear bold (user set) via the right-click context menu to their default values.

Did you check the network setting?
Sounds that you have set to connect automatically when a connection is not available.

If you prefer not to see snippets on the about:home page then you can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to an empty string on the about:config page.
Delete the storage\moz-safe-about+home folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default set.
You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref to the default value to re-enable the snippets.
