How can I stop my iPhone from changing appointment times when I move between time zone?

How can I correct the automatic date/time updates for daylight savings on my iPhone. It updates these changes on the wrong dates and sends my calendar into chaos.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Is Time Zone Support on or off?

Niel, thanks for putting me on the right track. I had to go to the "advanced" section of the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences to find that option. I had almost given up searching the 4 tabs on the main page in vain.

Any application that is open when you shut down will re-open when you restart unless you deselect this when shutting down/restarting:
Also check System Preferences>Users & Groups>Login items tab and make sure there's nothing listed there that you don't want launched.

I have an iPhone 5, currently with iOS 8 GM, and the problem with my iPhone is after maybe 5 minutes of being locked, if you turn it on, it loses service, or drops down to 1 bar (circle) says "Searching..." Then after 30 seconds, I will get service again. It does this 9 out of 10 times I want to use my phone. But that part isn't the issue, the issue I'm having is, with iOS 8, if it loses service for a while, I get a "Activation Required" and I can't use my phone at all until I reactivate it. Not a problem if I'm around Wifi, it takes 4 seconds to activate it. BUT, I'm not always around wifi and I can't use Cellular Data to activate it. I get a "Could not reach activation servers" or something. So my question is, what can I do about this? Besides getting a new phone, I already preordered the iPhone 6, and that could take 2-6 weeks to replace this phone. Is there some setting that is blocking it from activating on Cellulor Data? Can I permittatly keep it activated? Anything that will stop the phone from becoming a brick 2-4 times a day.

I agree that it is a hardware issue and I would have replaced, but losing service was something I just delt with over the years, but now with iOS 8, its becoming a problem. Plus with the release of the iPhone 6...

Almost everytime I get my phone out of my pocket it's playing music! How do I stop it doing this it's always locked before it goes into my pocket.

It should only do that if you hold down the T key at startup. Otherwise the PRAM battery is probably near death, or the T key needs to be cleaned so it doesn't think it is being held down. To clean the keyboard properly, you will probably need to bring it in for service.

This has been happening for about 1-2 months.
My iPhone makes a sound which is a normal iOS sound, but without any reason for it to be making the sound. It happens randomly, perhaps 1 day per week although when it happens it happens several times in the same day usually, even after quitting all apps / processes and restarting.
As you can imagine it's not very easy to describe the sound.
I do have a lot of apps, but there is free space and I'm rarely using more than Safari and/or Mail when it happens. Often it happens when I am just charging or not using the iPhone and there does not seem to be a correlation with power.
I have tried restarting the springboard and I have tried restoring from prior states. I have also upgraded the software several times since the first time I had this problem. There are no other problems except for some freezing on occassion.
Any thoughts?

How can I stop my iPhone from downloading iOS 7?

I am currently trying to download iOS 7 to my iPhone OTA. However, it seems to be stuck but rather than showing up that an error has occurred, it keeps trying to download. I would like it to stop trying but nothing works. I have tried switching it off and on again and hard reset but when I go back it keeps starting the download again. I'm aware that there are server issues so it may take a while but I would rather try getting it on my computer.

I mean, isn't the point of streaming so that I don't have to download the movie? Even if the phone has to download the movie, why isn't there some option to delete the downloaded movie from phone to free up some space!?

eg. if someone steals my phone and plug into there computer the windows photo download box pops up when connected and allows photos to be downloaded even with passcode. It doesnt make sence to me that if you try and get on my phone you cant look at anything, but connect it to a computer and it allows you to download all pictures and videos.

How can I stop my iPhone from texting to an email address instead of a phone number? It is not an iMessage account.

Hi there here is my code, the basis is it is playing a mp3 from my library.
Basically as the topic suggests I only want the sound to play once each time the UP arrow key is pressed. At the moment when you hold the up arrow down the sound keeps triggering and looping and gets really loud and noisy.

If you want the sound to only play once when the key is pressed then you don't want to have it in the ENTER_FRAME event handler like you have it. It is starting new sounds at the frame rate of your file the way you have it now.
Try having an event listener dedicated to a KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN event where you detect when the UP key gets pressed and use that to trigger playing the sound.
