How can I stop the display dimming when plugged into a powersupply. Cannot read playlist in car using music player.
My new ipod seems to dim after a short time, even when plugged into a power supply, unlike my previous ipod, which used to stay illuminated
when plugged into the car stereo and external power
Now in order to see the playlist I have to swipe or touch the home button, using the music player. However using a GPS app, the screen stays
fully illuminated......as it should!
Is this normal now for playing music?
Also, the new grey on white menu display for music is very hard to read in the car in bright daylight.......unlke the old white on black. Nothing I
can do about that sadly except complain to apple directly :-(

Subsequently I have done a litle research and downloaded a music app called "Track 8" which has a much clearer interface (larger type) and the abillity to change the background colour to dark or light.
This is much more readable in the car in bright light, and much better at night too.
You can also turn off auto-lock within the application, which is great, as it doesn't affect other apps.
Although this app is really only an interface sitting on top of the music app, it offers a much better experience
in my opinion that the stock player which seems to have devolved rather than evolved.

How can I change the display name when I call someone?
I recently gave a re-provisioned 8300 to a new employee. I wiped out the phone, and re-setup the phone in our exchange server to match the new user's settings.
The only problem he's having is that when he calls someone, the display name shows the previous users name as the person calling.
How do I change that?

howe132You don't say what model the device is, but if GSM, make sure the SIM card has not been edited to the preview name.

Is there a way to keep the display on when plugged into power?
My Nexus had this option....but I don't see it on the Note 3. At this point, I'm not having any issues, I have the display on the brightest, live wallpapers, gps, Bluetooth.....just about everything turned on, and it's sooooo much more efficient than my Nexus....I couldn't go anywhere w/o an external battery pack. Over night, w/o power, I'd wake up w/ the Nexus at 60-70%....now w/ the note 3 it might be 96%....it's great...now I don't walk around looking like a suicide bomber w/ wires from phone to external battery....but I WOULD like the Note 3 to stay alert when it's plugged in to power.

When I record an audio track using Logic Pro X, there is a visible waveform which appears as I record. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is still there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing? And can I do something to view it after it has disappeared? Anyone know the anser?

Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number. It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform. -

Flip the Ring/Silent switch. Make sure Vibrate when silent is off in Settings>Sound.

I am using wireless 4G Wireless Sierra dongle. I have a Mac Air. How can I stop the pop up screen trying to modify configuration when I connect. I can connect with no problems but I have to click 'cancel' (on pop up screen that says network needs to modify my configuration) sometimes as many as 50 times!!! very annoying as the pop up is in middle of screen & won't go away unless i click it. Thank you foray help!

Opening in the sidebar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.
You can check the properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the sidebar (Ctrl+B; Command+B on Mac).
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" is not selected. -

ThanksI'd have to say I think this is one of the biggest flaws in the OnDemand system currently. The solution I have come up with is to create reports and put them in webapplets showing the data I want to show. I have then removed the standard Related Info List Objects and added weblinks to create new records as the button on the List object is also gone.
Keep in mind that doing this does slow things down a little, so it may not work if you have a big user base.

While we are working on Delegate(provider) for JAXWS client handler in Weblogic10 , we have some technical issues and need some assistance.
Problem Description
In OUTBound of a provider, how can we stop the provider invoking its endpoint and send a response back?
Example:
I have a provider with some handlers configured for both IN and OUT flows. When the Jaxws provider is making a request, the OUTBound Handler gets invoked and in this Handler I would like to stop invoking actual endpoint and send back my own response. That means I should be able to tell the Handler chain to stop further processing of this flow, set a response message into message exchange and invoke the IN flow. How do I do that?
This kind of mediation/interception is possible in standard specifications like JAX-WS, Servlets etc… wondering if Weblogic10 JAXWS provides any sort of this kind.
Also we would like to know who is invoking a provider endpo int in JAXWS stack in weblogic10? Is it an OUTBound handler at the end of handler chain or some other transport component after the handler chain?

I recently installed an older version of Skype to run on Windows 8.1 because the new version is SO AWFUL. As much as I prefer the older version (6.14), the daily number of SPAM CONTACT requests is rediculous and most are just variations of the same spammer. Maybe it is time to look for a replacement for both?
