How can i tell calendar to wake me up with a song of iTunes?

since i got maverick i can't use songs of iTunes as alerts to wake me up!!!

Open Automator and create a Calendar Alarm.
Either use a Get Specified iTunes items to select specific songs, then add Start iTunes Playing action, or
Use the Play iTunes Playlist if you choose a Playlist.
Save the workflow and it will create an event in Calendar. Use something like "Music Alarm" as it will name the event with that name.
You can then edit, duplicate, etc that event to have it play the music.
If you want to use it again and can't find the event, choose Custom from the Alert menu. Set it to Open File and the file is located in your user/Library/Workflows/Applications/Calendar

If you are seeing "Installed" in the Purchased section of your iPhone, then it only means that the app is installed on your device. Is that where you are seeing the "Installed"?

[p7-1240] How can I tell which graphics cards will work with my motherboard?

I recently went through the nightmare of trying to install a Gigabyte GTX 650 in my PC. After a few days of struggling and scouring the internet for answers, I discovered that it is incompatible with the BIOS on my motherboard, and HP does not offer BIOS updates. I returned the card and am now looking for a new one, but I am unsure of which cards will work now, since my computer met all of the system requirements for the graphics card, and It stil ldid not work. Since GPU manufacturers do not list BIOS specs under system requirements, how can I tell if a graphics card will work with my sytem?
My computer is a p7-1240 with an upgraded 520W PSU and approximeately 11" of room to install the card.

Thexn, welcome to the forum.
The problem is, many of the newer video cards require the computer to have a full UEFI BIOS. HP began using one in mid-October, 2012. Before this date the BIOS is Legacy. This is why the video card didn't work with your computer.
I don't know what you want to spend for a card, but MSI makes a GTX 750ti that has a hybrid VBIOS. It has a switch to change to Legacy or UEFI. There is a video link directly below the picture of a card. Paul from Newegg gives a full description of the card.
I like EVGA cards the best. Their Tech Support has given me a lot of information about their cards. However, you have to go back to a GT 640 card to find one of their cards that doesn't require the UEFI BIOS. They do have some updates for their BIOS'es that solve the problem, but you have to call them for the exact cards.

I bought a MAC desktop for my business and immediately started using FACETIME. I did a software update and after the update it stated that I couldn't use my FACETIME because the Apple ID had not been set up. I tried setting it up under the email that I had previously been using but it said it was invalid. I then tried to set it up as a new apple id through Itunes and it said it was already taken. So I tried the "forgot password" for the apple id and it says nothing is available for that ID. So I am in a "catch 22" and now I cannot use my business email on my business computer for FACETIME. Contact Microsoft support and ask for help. You've paid for the kit, so installation-time support is part of the expectations. They'll probably suggest a Repair Permissions and a Verify Disk pass, both performed by booting the installation DVD and using Disk Utility from the Utilities menu item, and selecting those two repairs.

I need to look at a large amount of tiffs and determine if any of them were saved with the option in the second dialog box that comes up where it asks if you want to save the pixel order as interleaved or by channel.
I need all of them to be interleaved and some are not.
I would rather not open every image and resave. If I could run a script that would identify the culprits by changing their label to red for instance then I could deal with just those files.
If there was a way I could look at them without opening in photoshop that would be better but even opening in photoshop I get I don't seem to see the pixel order info anywhere.

I'm not sure if I clarified the situation enough. The collection of music is already in the iTunes folder. But iTunes itself only recognizes music once it's built a little database of what is in the iTunes folder. Normally you can do this by Add Folder To Library and selecting multiple folders, or even a folder containing all the music you want to add... and it would all go swimmingly except if it encounters a bad file at any point, it just chokes. This itself could be worked around, but it'd be a rather tedious process, especially if it turns out there are multiple bad files.

Well, I easily made the track with which I had this problem into an AIFF file by going to control click and "Create AIFF version." It changed the play time just as I wanted, but I can't seem to convert it back to MP3! The manual says to change Import Settings--I did--but now even when I change from AIFF to MP3 the next time I open the settings it still says AIFF! Help! I want my settings for MP3! Also, there doesn't seem an easy control click way to change the AIFF file to MP3 as there was to change the MP3 file to AIFF--so now I have two of them--an MP3 file the wrong length, and and AIFF file the right length--when what I want is an MP3 file the right length!

I have been downloading all those free songs that iTunes gives out every week. I just realized that I never listen to them because they are not all grouped together. Is there a way to do that? I tried using a smart folder to do that but I don't think anything in those files is labeled "single of the week" so nothing came up. Any ideas?

That would work. Another option I just thought of is that since most my iTunes purchases are music videos I could just say show purchased content that is not a music video. I would still end up getting some stuff that wasn't the free songs but the results seem close enough. Since my song library has 3494 songs it would be hard to pick the free songs out individually.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What I do for my web gallery photos is to flag them. That tells me in the Photos mode or Events mode which photos I've used in a web gallery. You could use a keyword to do that also.
There is no unique connection between a web gallery and Event. A web gallery can be create from photos in multiple events. Generally speaking most users will assemble the photos in an Album and then create the gallery from it. Just makes getting all the photos into one group easier. Once a gallery is created it is no longer directly connected to that album, i.e. adding new photos to the album will not update the gallery. New photos have to be added directly to the gallery.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
