How can i transfer microsoft office to my new macBook air?

How can I transfer microsoft office from my old MacBook Air to my new one?

All your data will be transferred if you use Setup Assistant, which starts automatically the first time you boot the new machine. You may need to contact Microsoft to reactivate the product.

how can I transfer microsoft office from macbook pro to macbook air?

Assuming you have the 2011 version the easiest way is go to Microsoft's Web site and download Mac Office 2011 onto your MacBook Air and then run it. If you have the 2008 (or the 2011) version on disc you can turn on DVD sharing in the Sharing control panel of your MBP and install it by remotely sharing your MBP's DVD.
Since Microsoft uses activation when you start Office on the new computer if you use the same activation code as you used on the MBP you'll probably get a message to call Microsoft. Do so and just explain that you got a new computer.

  • How do I get Microsoft Office unto my new MacBook Air?

I recently purchased a new MacBook Air to be able to complete my online courses, and soon after I noticed that I don't have Microsoft Office pre-installed. Is that standard that Mac computers don't have Microsoft Office already installed? How can I get MS without having to pay an exuberant amount for a new license?

yes it is normal, mac computers don't come with MS office on them
unfortunately the only (legal) way of acquiring microsoft office is to buy a license - as a student you might be entitled to discounts depending on your country (in the UK we have http://www.software4students.co.uk)
there are alternatives - Pages/Numbers/Keynote are the Apple equivalent of Word, ExCel and PowerPoint respectively. office documents can be opened using these apps too. i hear complaints from people who need certain features only available in MS office but for the average user the Apple versions are brilliant
then there's the free openoffice, etc, if you were looking for something along those lines

  • How can I transfer Microsoft package from iMac to Macbook air

I hope this is answered ASAP

The easiest way is to use the original install disks, always assuming that your version of whatever application/s you refer to are compatible with Lion.

  • How can I download Microsoft office excel  for my MacBook Pro Mac OSX version for free. Please help me!

How can I download Microsoft office excel for my MacBook Pro  for free?

You can't. Excel is a commercial product sold by Microsoft in an Office "package" and not as a stand-alone product.
If you need to be able to open and save Excel documents on your Mac, however, you could try the free LibreOffice.

  • Can I transfer Microsoft Office from my old Macbook to my new Macbook Air?

I've recently bought a new Macbook Air.
I use to have a Macbook (white version early 2009) When I first got my mac, I bought the whole microsoft series.
Now I want to see if I can transfer word (I'm not too bothered about the rest) over to my new macbook air.
When I purchase Microsoft office 2008 it was 3 discs and I used one 'go' and sold the other 2. My boyfriend does have the discs, but this is useless for my Air.
Only other thing is I've transferred everything over to my air (I did it manuallay with a usb as I wanted a sort out of photos, music etc, so didn't do migration assistant or whatever it's called.)
If I use migration assistant will it take off all the stuff I've already sorted on my Air? Because I haven't backed it up. I have icloud for my pages documents and itunes match but thats as far as I go.
My operating system is Mac OS X 10.7
I'm not THAT great with macs, only the basics.
    Any help would be appreciated:)

If your own MacBook's optical drive works you can use its drive to install software. Start up the MacBook and turn on CD/DVD Sharing (open System Preferences and select the Sharing tab). Put the disk in the MacBook then start up the MacBook Air open a window and down near the bottom under Devices you should see Remote Disc. Open it.
If this doesn't work you can use Migration Assistant to copy all your applications - you can't pick which ones. You'll have to reactivate Office. You don't have to select any of your data for migration.

  • Microsoft office 2008 on new macbook air

I am trying to install my old microsoft office 2008: home and student on my new macbook air with os x mavericks. Microsofts home page is telling me that this is an unsupported product. Can i still install it or do i actually have to buy a new office-package? I can't afford this and would like to use one of the two remaining users on my old office-package, since i hav only used one. Can someone help me with this?

Good question, all I can find online are updates, not full versions. Assuming that it is no longer available for download (it is 6 years old now) you will have to buy an external drive and use it to install from your discs.
    Edit:
Found a download on CNET, download it, then very carefully install it, CNET has a bad habit of 'adding' things to downloads so read what the installer dialog boxes say.
    The download is here
Here is a better source to download from, Microsoft Office 2008. version 12.3.3

  • I have all my old photos from my PC on a Maxtor external hard drive.  How can I transfer them from this to my Macbook Air?

I'd like to transfer my old photos from my PC which are stored on a Maxtor external hard drive to my Macbook Air.  Is there an easy way of doing this?  I don't know if the Maxtor hard drive is Windows specific or if it's compatible with Mac.  Anyone know?

It should be fairly simple.  The Maxtor should be recognized as "read only" since it's formatted for windows.  Connect it and in iPhoto select, iPhoto > File > Import to Library..   > Point to your external hd.

  • How do I load microsoft word on my new macbook air?

i need help! I have no idea how to load this!! this is probably the most easiest thing in the world but I can't figure it out!!!! Thank you!

Do you already have Microsoft Office?  If so it comes with it's own installer.  Just double click it and follow the instructions. Word is only one of its components that is installed.
If you don't have Microsoft Office then you need to purchase it from Microsoft.
If you don't have Microsoft Office and don't want to pay the purchase prices then there are some Office substitutes to choose from:
    LibreOffice
    OpenOffice
    NeoOffice
These are all permutations of OpenOffice.

  • How can I transfer Apple app licenses to new MacBook??

    Hi All,
I have moved off my G5 onto a MacBook Pro. I TimeMachined my G5 and installed the Pro using the backup in a hope that all my apps would work... Appears all but the Apple ones do!! I am now challenged for the license key... unfortunately during one of our many office moves most of the boxes, media etc. got binned I have installed and officially bought Final Cut Pro, Aperture, Soundtrack Pro and various other apps... I spoke the the specialist shop that sold the software to us and they said they were unable to help. I spoke to the guy who sold me the MB Pro and he said that if I send the license files to Apple they can 'sort it'... Unfortunately I can't see how / who / where
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I now have no apps and all my pictures and work is next to useless
    Thanks,
    S

    no problem
    HOWEVER
for a stable system I would recommend doing fresh installs of your programs as you migrated them
NEVER NEVER NEVER migrate complex programs
    all Apples pro apps
    all Adobe's
    Office
    etc
I know it is a pain but they install stuff over all over the system, as well you are "migrating" from a PPC system to Intel
ok for simple apps like iCal or mail but not for the complex ones

  • How can I sync my iPhone with my new macbook air that already has music on it?

I need help! I have an Iphone 4 that has all my music on it but I recently got a macbook air that already has all my songs. I want to sync my phone with my itunes but it says i may not want to. What do I do?

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Make sure everything is on the new computer.

  • How can i use microsoft office on the mAC - what app do i purchase? help?!!

how can i use microsoft office on the mAC - what app do i purchase? help?!!

What aspect of Microsoft Office? Office is a suite of programs... Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
You've got several potential options. Libre Office and Open Office (both googleable) are 'open source,' free, downloadable programmes that will open most MS Office programmes and perform many of the functions of MS Office. Might be an idea to have a look round for reviews (etc) first, to see if they sound like they'll match your needs.
If you're keen to use the App Store, there's Apple's own suite of programmes: Pages, Numbers and Keynote. They're a word processor, spreadsheet programme, and presentation-type programme with similar functions to Word, Excel and Powerpoint respectively. They're pretty good for most functions, and are better integrated with Macs than MS programmes. They're excellent programmes for what they do, and relatively cheap (about £14 each?).
But if you're heavily reliant on MS, want ALL the bells and whistles of MS, or need to regularly transfer files between MS programmes on other computers and your laptop / desktop computer, then they might not be the best of ideas. Keynote - IME - can have some difficulties in transferring formatting to Powerpoint.
Finally, there's MS Office Mac 2011. You can't download MS Office from the App Store, but can order the CDs from most online stores (including Apple's own store). It might be worth price hunting - if you're a student, you can usually find the programmes relatively cheap (£38 at the moment on Software4Students, though you'll need to belong to an academic institution / have a UK .ac email address). Apple's own prices on MS software are unlikely to be the best prices out there (though the product will be identical).
MS Office includes Word, Excel and Powerpoint in the basic version. The slightly more expensive version (which, I think, is the £38 one on S4S) includes Outlook. Which - IME - is far more of a nuisance than Apple's native Mail programme.
(I should probably add - I'm an academic. I own both Apple's own programmes, and MS Office 2011. I tend to use the MS programmes more, if only because they're the ones that other people tend to use, and transferring between Apple and MS programmes is a minor inconvenience. Pages also lacks Garamond, my favourite work font. The Apple progs are, however, far more beautifully integrated, and would be MORE than good enough for most users...)

  • How can i open microsoft office word documents on my ipad 4 and edit it.

How can i open microsoft office word documents on my ipad 4 and edit it. How to transfer my scaned documents on it

There are a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go,  Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
    Regards.

  • How can I install microsoft office

how can I install microsoft office or any other product that requires dos

You are showing 10.6.7. You should be able to run any Office PPC/Mac Compatible version (e.g. Office 2004) with Rosetta in Snow Leopard.
As noted, you can't run a Windows version except on a Windows partition.

  • Can I transfer Microsoft Office from my Macbook Pro (2008) to my new Macbook Pro (Retina Display)?

    Hi guys,
So I recently decided to upgrade to a newer model of my Macbook. As we all know, Apple have had to remove the CD/DVD drive in order to make the new models thinner and lighter, and so now I can't install Microsoft Office 2011 from the disk that was used to install it onto my old Macbook.
I don't particluarly want to part with any money for a USB to CD/DVD drive, and so I was wondering if there was a way of simply copying or moving the old microsoft office onto my new macbook?
    Thanks in advance

There are basically two choices; but first you must remove Office from your old Mac (be sure to do that first).   This is important because you need to remove the license file and other stuff in order to be able to reuse your license on your new Mac.   Then, you can do either of the following:
Get an external Superdrive and install Office on your new Mac, using the Office install DVD.  I suggest this is the better alternative.
Download Office 2011 from Microsoft and install online
