how can i transfer my song library from ipod to my iphone 4? the library on my computer from itunes is loaded with all my kids songs so i'd just like to transfer the songs on my ipod.

You cannot copy content from your iPod directly to your iPhone. It needs to be copied from your iPod to an iTunes library first and then synced the iPhone.

Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. i'm seriously considering buying an iphone. but before i do, i just have a couple of questions:
1. How can I transfer my music from ipod nano to iphone?
2. Will there be an iphone with higher memory capacity than 16gb? If so, when will it be out. (If there will be memory sizes of ipod similar to ipod classic, then i think it's better if i wait a little longer considering that there's only little difference in the price).

I don't believe there will be an iPhone with storage capacity equivalent to the iPod Classic anytime soon - at least not within the next month, or even this year or the next.
The iPod Classic has a hard drive. The iPod Touch and iPhone have Flash storage. Flash storage is more expensive than the hard drive equivalent, but the cost for Flash storage is coming down - supply an demand is probably helping this. The iPod Touch has double the storage capacity of the largest iPhone storage capacity since the iPod Touch doesn't include a cell phone - the case has more room for two 16GB Flash drives. More than likely there will be a 32GB iPhone at some point, but I believe it will be a while before we see a 64GB iPhone or larger approaching the storage capacity that is available with an iPod Classic.

If you haven't already done so then download and install iTunes : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Add the songs into your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library
Connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Music - if you select that tab you can then select which of your iTunes music to sync to the iPad (it should sync to the Music app on the iPad).
