  • How to delete archive log files from ASM through Grid Control

    Hi
    Anybody suggest me how to delete archive log files from ASM through Grid Control.
    Thanks

    It is important to specify both, the oracle version and os version when posting, so confusions can be avoided.
    In this particular case, since you are referring to asm and grid control you could be talking about either 10gR1, 10gR2 or 11gR1; but I strongly suggest you to avoid us to be guessing. In either case, you sould go to the maintenance tab of the target database and program a scheduled 'delete noprompt obsolete;' procedure. This will purge the information stored at the Flash recovery area, which I assume you have declared inside the ASM.

    How can I delete two .jpg files from my desktop that refuse to be deleted?

  • How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?

    How can I delete hidden video files from the iPad?  These files were created on my MBA and when I changed the media type to iTunesU and then copied it to my iPad via iTunes, they did not appear.  I can see them using 3rd party software, but they don't have delete functionality.
    Thanks
    York

    Interesting note:  I can see the files when I use the search function, but when I tap either file, I return to my home screen.  The video does not open.  I can transfer the file to my MBA, and it plays fine, but I cannot figure out a way to delete them.

  • How can I delete an old file from my library on iTunes

    Occasionally I have to replace PDF manuals with ones that have been updated.  But after I sync the new file the old one remains on my Mac itunes library.  How can I delete the old file?  So far all I do is deselect the old file but it's still there.  Sooner or later there will be more old files then current ones making it hard to manage.
    Thanks in advance.

    You can do this with or without the iPad connected to your Mac.
    Launch iTunes on the Mac. Click on Books under the Library heading. Click on the PDFs. Then click on the PDF that you want to delete in order to select it, and go to Edit>Delete and follow the on screen prompts.
    if you are using iTunes 11 and do not have the sidebar enabled, and wish to do so, go to View>Show sidebar or use the keyboard shortcut OPTION+Command+S.
    If you do not want to enable the sidebar, the library items can be accessed in the button in the upper left corner of the iTunes window.

  • How can I delete a Log File in EM

    I created a log file in the Log Configuration from "SOA Infrastructure -> logs -> Log Configuration", but later I found I cannot remove the new created log file. There only are Create, Create Like, Edit Configuration, View Configuration options in EM. Is there any way to delete the log file? I am using SOA suite 11.1.1.3 Thanks.

    Highlight the said file on the Music section of your Library, and press the Backspace key.  When asked whether you want to move to the trash, say yes.  Then you may download it again looking in Your Account in the purchased section.

  • How can I delete an infected file from backup folders

    ran Sophos anti-virus recently and it told me I have a malicious trojan on my Mac, Mal/PDFEx-H (which supposedly only affects windows, but it turned up anyway.) Sophos couldn't remove it automatically, so I was instructed to do a manual removal; however, every time I try to delete the file from the backup folders in which it is located, I get a message that "backup files can't be altered."
    so, my question is: how do I get rid of some malicious trojan (even though it's only for windows) from my backup folders? Btw, the backup folders in which it is located are all over 2 years old...don't know if that makes any difference, like maybe the entire folders could be deleted without any adverse effects?
    thanks for any advice.

    just wondering why you said that about Sophos? it's a download from Apple's web site and it did catch this, even though it couldn't remove it...
    thanks, again!
    I think that Linc means (and I concur) you don't need it to protect your Mac and it wastes resources, if it makes you feel better because it alerts you to windows viruses then remove it and install ClamAX or AV or whetever it's called.
    But you don't need AV software.

  • How can I delete all music files from my iPhone and start again?

    I rebuilt my iTunes library. I was under the impression that the first post-rebuild sync would erase all media from my iPhone.
    Under the Summary tab in iTunes, I checked Sync only checked songs and videos, and in my music list all songs are unchecked.
    Under the Music tab in iTunes, I checked Sync Music, and because all my songs are unchecked it shows 0 songs.
    However, after syncing, the status bar at the bottom of the Music tab still shows all my songs previously loaded as taking up memory, and when I open the Music app on my iPhone all those songs are still listed (although they are not playable).
    How can I clear everything out and start from scratch?

  • How to remove archive log files from ASM managed 11g R2 database?

    Hi,
    I am planning to automate deletion of older archive log files from my 11g R2 Production instance which is ASM managed.
    Also want to remove the archive log files files from standby database.
    Please provide your inputs on how can I remove the older archive log files.
    Regards,
    Avinash

    Greetings
    Did you check RMAN,
    RMAN>show all;
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY . . . .
    CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO [CLEAR | NONE | APPLIED ON STANDBY];
    DELETE NOPROMPT EXPIRED ARCHIVELOG ALL;
    DELETE NOPROMPT ARCHIVELOG ALL COMPLETED BEFORE 'SYSDATE-10';
    This will be part of your RMAN Backup scripts/process

  • TS3899 How can i delete multiple e-mails from my iphone 4S. There are indicated more than 1500 e., but when i open the file there is indicated: no e-mail.

    How can i delete multiple e.mails from my iPhone 4 S. ? It shows the presence of more than 1500 e-mails. But when I try to open the account it shows that there a no e-mails. So i cannot delete them.

    I would disconnect the email on your phone...
    And reconnect again and if it still does that go on an actual computer, log on and delete the mails with ease...
    Hope this helps..it may just need to be refreshed...

    How can we delete the icloud accounts from main website.Iam trying to log in to my account and it says that MAXIMUM NUMBER OF FREE ACCOUNTS ARE ACTIVATED?What can i do guys plz tell me?

    You can't delete an account, you can only stop using it.  If you're getting that error message you won't be able to create a new account on your device.  Your only options are to re-use one of the accounts previously created, or create a new account on a different iOS device or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

  • How can I delete all the files in the Adobe CS4 Master Collection from my machine?

    How can I delete all the files in the Adobe CS4 Master Collection from my machine. I have tried Control Panel but it will not do anything, there are no error messages, it is like as if it is ignoring my instruction. Why should it be so difficult to delete programs one does not want. Any ideas please.
