I am trying to control the F4 help values from check table coming in the form of pop up.

When a user uses SM30 to add an entry into table, you often need to add more checks. If you were to add code inside, there is a big chance that it would be overwritten.
The solution: go to table maintenance generator ( se56) => Enviroment => add event.

I want to be able to specify paths and/or filename patterns that should NEVER be indexed in the catalog: not that they don't show up under certain circumstances, just that they are NOT THERE (in the catalog) to begin with!!
I also do NOT want to have to respecify these criteria when "synching" the catalog; criteria should be PERMANENT (or at least 'til they're changed in LR preferences).
I cannot be the only person in the world with this problem--but it sure seems like it, because I've spent an inordinate amount of time doing online searches & I can't find anything that addresses this issue.
Can anyone PLEASE HELP me?
BTW, Adobe employees (if there are any of you out there), I'm simply trying out LR now. If I can't get this (seemingly fundamental) thing worked out (with relatively little effort), Adobe is going to LOSE A SALE of LR, because it's useless to me without this feature.

Thanks for the info... but how to you TELL LR to EXCLUDE images in a particular directory/directory structure? The intuitive place to indicate this would be a right-click on the folder itself (or particular images), but no such option exists.. "???" Thanks again, -pt
The same way that you avoid buying things in your local convenience store. You don't stick a lot of labels on certain shelves, slap a credit card down on the counter each week, and announce you are buying everything that doesn't have a label on its shelf. You just choose the things you want to buy.
Your mention of "synching the catalog" suggests that you are expecting the LR library, to mirror the total images in the computer by default. This is not IMO a useful way to think about it. LR contains no images at all, by default: the Catalog starts out empty.
Then you Add just those selected images that you want to import, among those already in the computer. That's a one-off process which is IMO best achieved controllably in batches - which you can keyword and otherwise organise in LR terms as you go. For new incoming images, ongoing, it is a question of Copying, Moving or Adding these in defined batches as they occur - from the relevant location only - there is no need to re-consider the import of a wider body of images. And one would not want to repeat that whole task anyway: one's prior investment in achieving the right selectivity, has a positive value.

The only possibility I can think of, is to consult with an Apple Store Genius. See if there is some kind of Apple proprietary software or diagnostic tool that can do it.
I do not think you want to, but you could go to Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings. If you decided to do that, you might be able to restore from a previous backup when you get home.

The key constraint for Home Sharing in this context is that both PCs need to be on the same wifi network. So once you get out of range of the wifi network covering your home PC, the laptop is not going to be able to Home Share.
Have you considered importing your iTunes music to the laptop? Then you could listen to a local copy of the music on the laptop while you're on the road. (You can do the import via home sharing when both computers are on the same wifi network.)

I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

I am a new user having received the iPad air/2 from my family as an 80th birthday gift. (at my request).
At this stage my principal usage is to transfer photos for PC to show family when visiting. I tried iTunes but it caused many problems with my PC, so I un-installed it. I found an ap which did the job simply and easily via wi fi transfer.
My other main usage is to be able to play my music transferred from my PC to the ipad and held in it's memory so that it can be used even when off line.
In other words iCloud doesn't seem to be able to do this.
I sent myself a song via an email, downloaded it on to the ipad, listened to it, then closed the email.
I cannot now find where that song has got to to retrieve... ipad search says it can't find it.
Basically I want to transfer a folder of music into the ipad and play them back at will.
Can anyone help me?

You shouldn't be worrying about 'hackers'. Apple have good security & so long as you pick good passwords the data should be safe.
There are parts of using iOS & iTunes that requires an Apple ID & iCloud, however you can disable many of the feature you do not need, and avoid syncing any files into iCloud. It can be annoying, but a lot of the services help to make backups easy.
You may want to visit into an Apple store if you are near one, they may try to sell you on the benefits of iCloud (it's kind of their job), but they may also be able to help you get the iPad under control. See if you can get the PC setup with iTunes, that is probably where you need to start.

Was your phone locked to T-Mobile? If so, it needs to be unlocked before you can use it here. I believe you can use it with AT&T or T-Mobile here, but you won't get 4G/LTE speeds.

I think you have to have the files on your HD. So either put them in iPhoto or copy them to a folder in Finder, and from there you can upload to Facebook.

I have added 'ProConn Latte' to Firefox which serves that purpose but my teenager figured out that he can simply open Firefox in "safe mode" (an option under the START menu) and bypass the control. Hi, I'm a newbie with LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.
I have just finished creating a Quote Template.
After I finished creating the Quote Template I saved it as an Adobe Static PDF Form (.pdf).
I double clicked on the saved file and it opened in Adobe Acobat 9 Pro.
I then e-mailed it to myself as a test and found that after downloading the file from my email, I could edit the text and numbers.
It will not be a good idea to email an editable Quote to a client.
What should I do that a Quote Template created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 is secure from being edited by the client once the client received it per email?
I did not find the answer to my problem from the Help Menu, or overlooked it.
I will really appreciate it if someone can educate me in this.

you can protect a pdf from being edited in Acrobat Pro using the security features. (Advanced -> Security).
The easiest way is securing the file with a password and allowing no edits.

Of course that also means the recipient can't fill any forms any more (unless he removes the security with the password).
A word of warning: as with all kinds of security the safety of it is only relative. There are tools out there which allow you to remove this protection in seconds.
(which probably would be illegal under these circumstances)
Background: the pdf specification only suggests that any pdf compatible application should care about the edit password. You practically can't enforce it. The tools I spoke of just ignore the security and save a new file.
The only way to improve this is to use digital certificates or to set an open password.

I was using pages in my ipad. Then I bought a Mac Pro and signes with a new iCloud account. In order to sync it with my ipad I deleite the previous iCloud account from the divise and started it with the new account. I previously choose to keep all the documenta before deleten the account.
Now when opened pages I can not see any of my previous doccuments

You'll need to copy the Pages documents from the old iCloud account to the new one. To do this, go to iCloud.com from your Mac and sign into the old account. Launch Pages beta and confirm that your documents are still there. Assuming they are, select them, then click the gear icon on the menu bar and choose Download Documents and choose the Pages format. This will download copies of the documents to your Mac. Drag the downloaded documents to your desktop and double-click on them to extract them from the .zip files. Next, sign out on iCloud.com and sign back into your new iCloud account. Launch Pages beta in the new account, then drag and drop the documents from your desktop to the Pages beta window to upload them to the new account. You can now access the documents from devices signed into your new account.

How can I restore deleted file attachments from further back than the history tool will let me go?

I have a open form that collects registration information from customers, including documents and images that they can upload using file attachment fields. Back on 2/24 I inadvertently deleted the several hundree responses that the form had collected up until that point. Using the history tool, I accessed older, intact versions of the form, selected the deleted rows, and copy/pasted them back into the latest verskon of the document. It seemed to work fine, but I didn't look closely enough to see that the attachments had been lost. The file referenvces were still there, but they had little red exclamation marks next to them and couldn't be opened.
A couple week later, I discovered this and tried to go back into the form's hsitory again until before that accident on 2/24. However, I can no longer go back in time that far. The system only seems to let me go back around 10 days.
We need to recover the lost file attachmentrs. Is there a self-service way for me to restore my form back to 2/24, including file attachments? If not, could an Adobe supprrt technician hele me to do that?

lol, nevermind. I came across an article that made it easy. For anyone else with this problem it's real simple.
Open itunes
File>Add Folder to Library
select 'itunes' and it will add your music to your library
Although it went through all my apps asking if I want to replace or don't replace with newer, when it finished all my music appeared in itunes just like I left it before reinstalling Win 7. Easy Peasy. I've seen others with same problem but nobody seemed to have this easy solution.
Now I can finally plug in my iphone and sync without losing all my music from my iphone.
