As for splicing them together, you will need a video editing package for your PC. I don't know if Windows Movie Maker (or whatever they're calling it now) can handle this or not. Have you tried resetting your device? Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you see the Apple, then the reset is processing and you should see your Home screen shortly.

Alright Hernan there are a couple of steps you could try.
Your first step has been mentioned twice, that is a "Hard reset". This can be done by holding both the Power/Lock Button (Top left hand corner of the device) and the Home Button (Circular button in the Bottom-Middle of the device) for about 3-5 seconds until the device shuts down, then attempt to start it up again.
If this fails, you may have to take a rather drastic measure and put the device into "Forced Recovery Mode". This will erase all your data on your iPhone (So I'd hope you won't have to do this unless you backed up recently) and reset it to an empty device.

Is there anyway to tell from the Settings menu on the iPhone or from a menu in iTunes that the phone has been unlocked. My wireless carrier has allowed me to unlock my phone because I will be spending an extended period of time in another country. Leaving in a few weeks. When I purchased my phone from ATT, they copied my contacts from my existing phone memory card to the new iphone. When looking in the iphone, the names aren't first and last, they're just one name so instead of 'Bob Jones' it came as 'Jones;Bob/H - it was Bob Jones Home phone number.' . No way to sort by 1st name because there isn't anyfirst name.
I would like to unload the contacts from the iphone into my pc, edit them and then load them back into the iphone. Suggestions??

Previous to starting this, I synced to icloud. And I believe that itunes backed up all the info to windows contacts, so they were in 2 places and the phone.
From windows contacts, I deleted all the contacts and created several 'good' entries in windows contacts.
I went to the phone and went to settings>icloud>contacts and turnd the contacts OFF and I have a choice of 1)keep on my phone, 2)delete from my iphone, or cancel. So no choice to MERGE; nothing referring to ADVANCED. Am I in the right place to do what you're suggesting?? I don't think I am.
