  • Can i setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer

    Hi
My partner and I recently sold our laptops and bought an iMac and want to keep our itunes, music, playlists separate.  Is it possible to setup multiple Apple IDs on one computer?
    Thanks
    Denise

Each person in your home can have their own Apple ID provided it is tied the their own separate email address.
iTunes permits up to five authorized computers connected to a single Apple ID: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
For this all to work well, however, each user in your household should have a separate user account on the computer they commonly use.

  • How do you set up two different ipads on one computer ?

I purchased a new ipad for my wife and want to get her started but we both use one imac as our desktop system.  How do you set up two different uses on one computer.

Other options not covered in the article:
    1) You can plug both in under the same computer username and same iTunes Apple ID and give each device it's own name. You should be able to manage them as separate devices with different media, apps and screen layouts. All of your media would be in a common pool, though.
    2) Under one computer username, you can login and logout of two different iTunes Apple IDs. This option is cleaner with two computer usernames but it can be done with one.

Can you set up 2 iTunes accounts on one computer?

I had two accounts on one computer until recently. You need to use two user accounts on the computer. Note, I say I did it until recently, therefore I'm not able to confirm this still works, but assume it does.

  • How can i merge my two apple ids into one

Hi I am still getting my head around itunes, etc.  But i have two ids and now i want to merget them into one. Is there a simple way i can do this.
i have made some purchases on each.. can you tell me a simple way please.. Thanks

I purchased some music on my phone about 18 months ago but never put them on my computer. I dont have that phone now.I guess i could just ignore the old phone data and consider it lost. and move forward...
    Hello Rosalie,
You can get those songs back at no charge!  You don't need the old phone.  Follow one of these guides:
iTunes 10 for Windows: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH1619
iTunes 10 for Mac: Download previous purchases from the iTunes Store

When you do that, make sure the song files get added to your current iTunes library on your laptop.  Then just stop using the old account.

  • How can I set up multiple email accounts in one folder in Thunderbird?

    Hello; first time poster here.
I own a business that has several email accounts. I am trying to create a folder (titled my business name), then set up all of the email accounts for my business so they all are in that one folder. I have tried for two days to figure this out and can't seem to do it.
I have been using Outlook, but it has too many whistles and bells and is way to slow, so I thought I'd give TB a try.
Can anyone explain IF this is possible, and if so, how can I do it?
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

  • How do I set up multiple IPOD's on one computer?

Hi I have 2 IPOD (kids) and one IPAD (mine).  How do I set them up where I can control the content that get's loaded on them independantly?  Eg. Some songs I only want on IPAD or vice versa.  I currently have all devices linked to one account.

There are a couple of ways you can do this. The following article will help you with whichever way you choose to use:

  • After updating to iTunes 11, issues with multiple Apple IDs on one computer

My boyfriend and I both use the iMac, and both have Apple IDs. We are separate users on the iMac, and each logs in to his or her "side." Neither one of us had the slightest iTunes problem until we updated to iTunes 11. Now, I just discovered that the iMac is linked with his iTunes account for at least another 46 days, which means that I'm not allowed to download to the iMac purchases I made under my Apple ID on my phone.
Is there a way to fix this? It's ridiculous that one of us would be locked out for 90 days at a time when all we want to do is back up music we legally purchased.

Multiple users can "authorize" content on one computer, but in order to re-download content (including Match and stuff purchased on another device/computer), you have to "associate" the computer with that AppleID, and this can only be done for one AppleID per computer and can only change every 90 days.
This has always been the rule, but it's more obvious since iTunes 11, because all your previous purchases now appear as cloud content, and it's easy to screw things up by accident.
If you email the iTunes store, it's possible they will reset the counter and let you switch back to your AppleID (they did for me), but they will only do this once.
There's really no reason to "back up" stuff purchased from the store.  If you want to listen to it on the computer, you can do "transfer purchases" while syncing, so there are workarounds.  Still, it's unquestionably a stupid rule that punishes legitimate users and does nothing to stop illegal sharing.  I encourage you to write very nasty feedback about it.

  • How can I put 2 existing Apple-IDs on one ID?

    Hey there,
i have two Apple-Id with 2 two different email addresses.
because one email address will be be deleted in a short while, i want to put everything connected to it on the other one.
    But how?
    Thanks
    D.

You cannot merge IDs or the purchases that go with them.
I believe you can change (edit) the email address that is being deleted provided that you replace it with one that is not / has not, been in use elsewhere with Apple.
You will need to do this in order to be able to update app purchases from the deleted account.

  • How do i set up multiple apple iPhones with one account?

Iphones are merging contact info and text messages.  sharing icloud.

If you do not want to share contacts, calendars and email, then you need to create unique iCloud accounts for each device.  If you use the same iCloud account for all, then they inevitably end up sharing the same information.
As far as iMessages go, again, if you use one AppleID for all devices, then they all share a single iMessage account.  You can get separate AppleIDs for each and create separate iMessage and iCloud accounts for each, and then each device has complete privacy and separate information.
You can have as many AppleIDs as you wish (none need have any payment information associated with them, and none need be used for iTunes or App store purchases).

  • Multiple apple IDs on one computer

    Hi everyone,
I bought my MBA about a year ago.  At that time i set it up under my existing google account that i had.  Couple months passed and i migrated to @me.com account and deleted my google account.
I went into user settings of the MBA and changed account there to the new @me.com email address.
My problem is that now when i go to App store i see updates for the old google account also.  Why is it showing me the updated for google account?
App store will check for updates for both accounts, the new me.com and the old google.com even though i never use google.com any more and there shouldn't be any more references to it in the machine (that i know of).  So now there is always an update in the App store waiting to be installed and i dont really want it because it is update for the old google account.
I have two user accounts on this machine and none of them are set up under the old google account.
Not really sure what's going on.  I'm still on the Lion OSX.

OK, I just entered this discussion and I didn't see an answer to my issue above, but I believe you can help.
I have many songs on my iPhone/iPad/MAC that I purchased approximately 4+ years ago that are owned by
an old email address: [email protected]
I also have been purchasing music, etc. on my apple ID [email protected] for the past 4 years.
Can I get all of the music/content merged into my current apple ID and eliminate the older email address?
    Thanks.
