How can you tell which computer that is authorized as the master?

I have several computers that I have connected my iPhone to. How can I tell which computer I should connect to before updating the operating system? I don't want to loss data if I don't have to.

I am not that familiar with Apple and iTunes and was getting help from someone who said that I can plug my iPhone into my computers but that I would have to authorize the iPhone on each but the limit is 5.
This is not accurate.
You can authorize up to 5 computers with the same iTunes account. There is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPads, and iPhones that can be synced with the same iTunes library and iTunes account on the same computer.
An iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on one computer only, and photos can be transferred from one computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first.
This is why I asked - you have connected your iPhone to each one of these computers for what?
I was not sure which computer I first used. Is there a simple way to check?

If you connect your iPhone to a "non-master" computer to install the update, you will be provided a warning.
How many computers are you talking about? If 5 or less, this should take you no more than 10 minutes to determine which computer you transferred music and photos from.

I know ipad albums are more like tagging photos rather than putting them in folders. I just have a nagging feeling I missed some pics and I have too many to try to go figure out one by one. the reason i ask is where i live there is only the bt-pcp and the drl-fttc cabinet and no others.
from what i heard is that both BT and DRL occupy the same fttc cabinet, and this would suggest so based on other information received.
yet from other information i'm hearing is that they don't and we're probably wired all the way back to the exchange which i would have thought was a bit odd seeing with 3 miles from exchange (as the crow flies).
so is it possible that they use the same cabs?

yeh am on infinity now and so far working fine
had one disconnection but thing that was caused by outage as took router a few attempts to re-connect, but other than that my pppoe has only dropped when made a change on router which required it to restart.
now been connected for 8 days without dropping (usually dropped every weekend when on DR) so continuing to monitor.
the engineer advised was connected via the cabinet in street, but only cabinets are the bt-pcp and the dr-fttc cabinets, and AFAIK BT and DR share the cabinet from what I've been previously told, but then someone else has said they won't do that and the connection is probably one that is underground if there is no bt-pcp.
i'll send Dean a message just so i know for future as i know the bt-pcp cabinet my number is connected too.

I went to do the 2.0 update for ipod touch but it says make sure you have the ipod connected with the computer you sync with. I sync with both my mac and laptop but I think they mean the origional one you started with. How do you tell which one?

What they want is to make sure you are not doing this somewhere that you may lose the ability to connect the iPod (work, friend's house, internet cafe, library) because there is a file that will be downloaded to the computer, and if you need to restore at some point, iTunes will need that file.

Here are the specs and configurable options for your HP Pavilion p7-1380t Desktop Computer. Here are the specs for it's H-Joshua-H61-uATX (Joshua) motherboard. According to the motherboard specs, this system has 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back as shown below;
(#1) USB 2.0 x 4
Typically, USB 3.0 port are blue and have a stylized "SS" symbol near by. There does appear to be a USB 3.0 header on the motherboard, which could be used for front or rear ports.

How can I deauthorize a computer I no longer have? I was trying to sign into my itunes on my computer and it said that it was already being used on 5 other computers and that I would have to deauthorize one of them before I could sign in. I don't have any of those computers anymore so what needs to be done?

How can you tell which files have backed up to external hard drive using Time Machine?

I have Macbook Pro (early 2011) and recently purchased a WD My Passport for Mac external HD. I have completed a back up using Time Machine, however how do I tell what files actually were backed up? I have a ton of audio, documents and photos that I would like on there. Its a 2 TB HD, my memory is 750 GB... Im using 632. At end of back up, the drive still had 1.88 TB left. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
tmutil compare | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
The command may take several minutes to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Don't post all the output; just read it yourself. Each line that begins with a plus sign (“+”) represents a file that has been added to the source volume since the last snapshot was taken. These files have not been backed up yet.
Each line that begins with an exclamation point (“!”) represents a file that has changed on the source volume. These files have been backed up, but not in their present state.

These lines show the total amount of data added, removed, or changed on the source(s) since the last snapshot.
Caution: Under some conditions, tmutil may falsely flag files as not having been backed up when in fact they have been. It can be confused by multi-linked files, or by files with a modification date earlier than the one in the snapshot. This will not be an issue for most users. If the results of the above procedure surprise you, inspect your snapshots directly.

Only if they went to the trouble of setting their device up as a "Managed Device" on your ID.

How Can You Tell Which Group a Contact is In (in Lion)?

Before Lion, you could hold the option key while viewing an address book entry, and it would show you what Groups you assigned it to. It would highlight in Yellow. That seems to be gone in Lion. Is there a way to go down your adrress book listeings and tell what group each name is assigned to?
(I know you can highlight a group to see it's members. That's not what I mean here. In Snow Leopard and before you could go through each address book name and tell what group it was assigned to.)

the most reliable way is to go on the phone and tap
Settings/General/About - that will tell you the capacity (among other things)
but remember the actual space wont be what Apple advertises - my 128 GB iPhone 6 + says it has 114 gb of space - there is formatting and the operating system to take into account
the size is also printed on the back of the original box but unless you have the phone and get get the serial number off the phone (which is in that same location) you cant be sure the box is from the phone you are trying to buy

How can you tell which clips have which presets?

I have dozens of presets in my library for various types of clips so aside from tagging everything, is there a place that displays which preset color correction I am using on a clip? If not is there another way to see what it is besides tagging?

Every time I boot up, I keep getting the same message from the lenovo energy management thing. "This system does not support batteries that are not genuine lenovo-made or authorized. This system will continue to boot. . . " It goes on. Is it just a reminder or something else?

Based from what i read in your post, seems like your bios is having some issue in recognizing the battery
Please try disconnecting the battery and then reinstall same when system is in shutdown condition
Also you can visit Lenovo support website to download the latest Bios update to check

Mail, how can you remove an image that shows up in the header?

I have no idea how this image got where it is, but I would like to remove it. When I open Mail, I see in the address area of the email as it displays in the message viewer, to the very right of that area, there is an image, that I have no idea how it got there or how to remove. The following is a link (I think) Mail/Users/alaska_juliens/Desktop/Picture 7.png ...... that shows what I am talking about. I have gone through my signatures and made sure that image isn't in there and it isn't. Please help, it is driving my husband nuts, we would love to change the image to his company logo if possible, but we don't know if that image even shows up when others receive email from us or not (we email ourselves and it is right there in the address header of the email). Thank you for your time and help.

Typically what shows up there is the address book picture for that contact. If they attach an image it will be added to the address book.
So go to the contact in address book and change or delete the image.

If you can't use the Deauthorize All function and repeatedly deauthorizing your computer individually doesn't work, you need to contact the iTunes Store staff.
