Hi Andre,
I don't know if you have already figured out how to change the background color of the tabstrip, but I will explain how we have done it.
You might have tried to change the background color in "Tabstrip" (under the menu "Complex Elements") in Theme Editor. When you change the property "Background color of selected/unselected tabs", this will not change the color of the images on the tabstrip (ex. the triangle on the side of the tab). These images are on the server. We copied these images and then made changes to them, before we uploaded them again through the Theme Editor.
The path to find the images is /usr/sap/~/JC01/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/portalapps/com.sap.design.urdesigndata/themes/portal/the name of your theme/common/tablist
If this didn't work for you, you might have to change the properties in "Pattern Containers" (under Complex Elements") in Theme Editor. The tablist properties are under the header "Tab Container".
I think it should work for you then. We also found that there was some problems when we tried to view the changes in Firefox, but haven't figured out how to solve this.

In the property palette of the tab page, click on the "Background Color" property and click the "Inherit" button on the top of the property palette, this will revert the value of the property to the default when the tab page was created which is <Unspecified>.
But if your tab page has inherited the color from a property class it will revert to what was specified in the property class.

I'm using Premiere Pro CS5 on Win7 x64. I've imported a JPEG that's a different size than my 1920 x 1080 frame. The background of this JPEG is white, but the background of the sequence is black (by default), so the borders of the JPEG make it stand out. Jim and Ann are correct. I can see where someone used to After Effects might ask that question though because in AE you can change the background color of the composition. Same with Photoshop.
However, I think it would confuse things if changing the background color were to be allowed in Premiere Pro. Black tells me something. I suppose white could tell me the same thing, but at this time it is not possible in Premiere Pro.

The only way I can see to do this is to use an item renderer for your cells. This is really scruffy and would need tyding up, and maybe with a little more time could do better or someone else may have an idea but none the less this works.
Define a custom component as below;
This has logic to see what the value of the data is proveided by the dataprovider for the row, and if it matches the conditions in this case is equal to 5 sets the background color.

Perhaps you (or anyone else!) can help me with this too: is it possible to change the color of the border styles that you choose for the thumbnails on a photo page? There is no "fill" option in the Graphic pane of the inspector when I select one of them. I love some of the styles but would like to be able to match the color better to my pages. I have done this before by using a for loop to change the active cell of a row in order to give the appearance that the whole row is turning the color at once.

Try Preferences>>Colors>>Menu Background, but this will change ALL menu's background color.

How do i change the background color in pages

I am using the app on an iPad2. I I would like to know how to change the background color.

Create a rectangle, and fill the whole page with it. Change the colour and then use text boxes to put writing on the background. Its a bit complicated because the background can move when your moving text boxes and making the rectangle bigger but you'll get the hang of it. I hope Apple can make this easier to do!

Do you know how to edit the template? If not simply choose a rectangle shape, change colour to Black and using ARRANGE, send to back and bring forward till it replaces whatever is there.
The best way is to pull down the book slide to reveal the Layout - which shows you the chapters and section etc which make up a template. You have to use the same procedure on ever page from the template you intend to use.
In the Template Layout, select your page. Click on whatever your background colour is...IF its unlocked you see the square pull handles in corners - now simply select Black and it should change the colour - if not and its unlocked, it may be a black image, in which case delete it, Insert a new rectangle, pull to fit the page and change colour to black. It should now be hiding the other content, ARRANGE > Send to Back and it should sit behind all your content. Now go back to arrange and LOCK.
You should see a red marker on the left with whatever page you are editing "Save Changes" click it and its done... repeat on all other pages.
