How could the page background be changed?

It will be useful if in Adobe Reader the color of the page background could be changed, when possible (as in other PDF Readers). There are people like me who find stressing for the eyes a white background.

Click at bottom of the first page:
Menu > Insert > Section break
Click somewhere in the 2nd page (not the header/footer)
Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > Start at 1 > Configuration > uncheck use previous headers and footers
Click into the header or footer of the second page:
Menu > Insert > Auto Page Numbers…
If there is anything in the header or footer on the first page that you don't want just select it and delete it.
If you really wanted to manual place page numbers on each page you will have to use a section break between each and every page. I can't imagine that would be useful.

I want my page background to change automatically after a set period of time (almost like a very slow slideshow). Is there any reason (other than file size) I can't simply do this with an animated gif as my body background image? I haven't got the expertise to do anything too technical. Thanks

BG images are not meant to be animated. It's a performance problem - the browser would have to continually re-render the whole page, since GIFs work on specific increments. That's why it's not supported. What you wanna do would be best done with jQuery/ JavaScript or Flash, where the substitution can be controlled, so the browser only needs to work hard when there is actualyl something changing. whether that's a good idea, is another matter, though. Personally I really despise such toy-ish features, as they severely impair usability and readability.

The page setup has changed to 'portrait' and Page Setup will not change it back to landscape.

When I switched on this morning Adobe Reader installed an update and recommended removing Realplayer. I looked up how to do this but it doesn't seem to be on my machine. When I started Firefox the page setup had changed to portrait. Going into 'PAGE SETUP' and changing the setting to landscape had no effect.

Try to reset the print prefs on the about:config page via the right-click context menu.

I am in Muse 2014.3. When I edit a page, in the preview everything looks fine, but when I upload it to FTP, the page does not change, even when I upload the whole site. Is this a bug? I don't know what to do.

Are you sure about your FTP credentials (FTP folder and site URL) that you are using for the upload? Are you able to see the updated files in the remote directory of the FTP server, after you finish uploading the muse file, using an external FTP client like FileZilla?

When I right click on a graphic to view image, the page background is dark. How do I change the color?

When I right click on an image and choose "view image" from the list, it opens a page with the image on it but the background of the page is dark gray. How do I change the background color that the images appears on?

It is a new feature in Firefox 11+ versions to display a single image centered with an almost black background.
It is added by this stylesheet:

You can look at this extension to set your preferred background color and remove the centering if you display a single image in a tab.

After I got a 27" screen, I had problems with the interface text being too small as well. That can be fixed with Mozilla applications if you set up a userChrome.css file in the profile inside a subdirectory called chrome. The code I used:

When viewing some websites my desktop background image shows as the page background...why...and how do I fix this?

It seems that the current version of Firefox does not understand how to process style sheets. Instead of the stylesheet background color or image, I am now seeing my PC's desktop background image. The problem started shortly after I installed two new programs, a graphics program, and an anti-virus. I just removed both programs and restarted the computer and that seems to have solved the problem. Your idea about Aero gave me the idea that one, or both of these programs changed some of my system settings. I am now going to install them, one at a time, and see if the transparency problem returns. I'll post my findings.

How do I get the dock background to change back to the normal one?

How do I change the window background colour ,in Grid View, from the new, default, white back to the good old, more easy on the eye, black?
Apple did this to us in iPhoto some time ago and had to add a preference for shades of grey other than white. Why didn't Apple learn from this mistake?

It is good to know I am not alone. The first thing I did after downloading iTunes 11 was go into preferences to change the background color. But alas, the option for a dark background is gone. I also was kind of disappointed in the lack of ability to resize the artwork, but not to the extent of some other commenters here.
I will say this though. I love the way the albums expand with custom colored backgrounds based on each album's artwork colors. This looks fantastic. Still it would be nice to accomodate those who prefer to use a dark background for the overall application's theme.
So, Apple, I join with my fellow users in requesting the return of resizable artwork, and the option for at least a dark (or an even further customizable) background color for the overall theme of the application. Thanks!

I wish to change the look of a page background color in photoshop. Where are the backgrounds that are used by iWeb? I am trying to change: Freestyle/about me tan background.

Find the iWeb application icon in your Applications folder. Control-click on it and select "Show Package Contents". Then open up /Contents/Resources/English.lproj/Templates/About Me/. You'll see another package file called "Freestyle About Me.webtemplate". Control-click on it and select "Show Package Contents". You should see aliases to all the elements for that template there.
Just be careful with all this stuff. Keep backups of whatever files you alter, just in case. Make sure not to change any names or file formats, or else iWeb may not be able to find them.
