How do folks like the "feel" of the iPhone 5 in their hand?

I went to the Apple store today to "feel" the new iPhone. My previous phone is the 3GS iPhone and I have loved, that rounded contour in my hand. The new 5 is VERY light, but doesn't feel cheap, but I'm not sure how I like the feel of it. I have one ordered - due here on Fri - so I can try holding it for a while before I activate it. I'm an old lady and I detest most "change" (but sure do like the speed of the new iOS6!), so maybe it's just that. Anyone else who can chime in on this?

It'll take some getting used to, I picked up a slim case for it today (incipio) and it feels alot better.

No. Apple has no part in the decision ot lock or unlock at all. Lock/unlock is 100% the decision of the carrier. Apple has nothing to do with this decision.

Try this:
Go into Power Manager, choose the Logging profile.
Go into Windows' Power Options, choose a different profile, then switch back to the Logging profile.
See if this clears any contradiction between the two.

How many contacts can the iPhone hold....now?

This question was asked back in 2008 and has been archived, however I'd like to revisit this issue.
What I'd like to know, is this:
How many contacts can the iPhone hold before it effects performance?
I have a iPhone user with an MS Exchange email account on the phone, Calendar and Contact sync is turned on. The problem is, the user has 10,000 contacts.
The contacts synchronized to the iphone, however, when writing emails or doing any task that accesses the contacts database (i.e. auto-completion of names), There is a good 35 to 40 second lag before you can enter the second letter of a name on the keyboard. I can only assume that this is due to the pure insanity of having 10,000 contacts on a mobile device... The search takes too long. Although it did work just fine on the blackberry (a lessor device ).
Can anyone tell me if there is a limit on how many contacts one can successfully store on an iPhone without running into the "lag" issue?

What is the overall size of all these songs?
This will determine how many songs the iPhone can hold.
The actual capacity of an 8GB iPhone is around 7.3 GB - OS X alone takes up approximately 500MB.
You should leave some free space available on the iPhone for general operating purposes and if you access any email accounts and for Safari cache purposes, etc.
So you have around 7GB available - as long as the overall size of all 9400 songs isn't greater than 7GB or so, you are covered.

apple i know you guys are trying to make things thinner but sometimes i dont like it because i have an itouch 4gen and it keeps slipping out of my hands and i have held the iphone4 and i love the design on it if feels nice. for the itouch 5gen you guys should make it it like the iphone 4 design so it downse not slip out of your hands. Iphone 5 seems unable to sync calendars with ITunes! The genius bar set mine to sync via Icloud, but it only worked once (?).
Finally I fixed it like this.
First, I merged the multiple calendars from ICal thanks to http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_merge_ical_calendars and I called it “only.”
Second, I unchecked the gmail calendar (seems iCloud had a problem with it): On the Iphone, open the calendar, go to the bottom of the page, click on calendars and uncheck the gmail calendar. Click Done.
Third, every time I want to sync, I go to the Iphone Settings, iCloud, and uncheck calendars. I respond “keep on my Iphone”. Then, check calendars on again, click merge, and.… voila!

craigslist is completely un-vetted. You can use it if you like. As far as I'm concerned, it's the wild-west of the Internet. Anything goes, no-one is held accountable. Sure, you can meet someone in broad daylight in a public place... no garauntee that the phone isn't jailbroken, or hacked, or stolen. At the moment, stolen only matters if it's a CDMA phone, provided you don't mind being charged with receiving stolen property if it gets traced to you.
Hopefully, that will change with the new stolen phone registry that's in the works. Still wouldn't do business on craigslist, though. Maybe I'm just old and crotchety, but I can tell you for sure that no-one there will rip me off.

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

It was never free for the 3GS.
It is if the initial sign-up is done on an iPhone 4, iPad or iPod touch 4th gen.

I wanted this function as well and I just downloaded "BBClendar Free" and it works perfectly for this, better than an inexpensive digital watch!
Just go to the Advanced section, enable the hourly beep and even set which hours (mine is 8 AM - 10 PM) and what minute of each hour it beeps on. Just be sure to leave the program open when you go on standby or it won't beep.
