How do I add a preloader in Captivate 5

Hi
I have published a project as a swf file and my colleague has setup a link to the fine in Zendesk. When you click to play the movie there is a fairly long delay till the swf loads. How do I add a preloading icon that shows something is loading and how can I start the movie before the whole project is loaded.
Thanks

Hi there
Look in Edit > Preferences > Project > Start and End.

  • How do I add attachments to a Captivate 7 eLearn?

Articulate has an Attachments button in the player window.  In Captivate 7 -   I want the user to click a button and the attachments window appears for them to download a document/PDF.
I can not find anything in Captivate to add that into the eLearn.  I know that I can create a click box to hyperlink to another site but I actually want the document embedded into the eLearn similar to how Articulate has the ATTACHMENTS button and you can decide which file to download.
Any guidance will help alot!  I don't want to switch this eLearn to Articulate.

While it's not a built-in feature, you could probably get the same result with a little bit of creativity.
I haven't tried it, but you could probably make a text caption or smart shape with the text links formatted as you want, putting it on the first slide set to show for all slides, not visible upon viewing the project. Then you could make a smart shape button, also set to show for all slides, that show/hides the text caption/smart shape with an advanced action.
(Obviously you'd still have to do as Rick says, and make sure the linked document(s) are in the right place when you publish your project. )

  • How to add a preloader bar to a swf file made in InDesign?

I have created a swf file in InDesign CS4 and now that I added the swf to my website, it takes a little bit to download, but the problem is that it doesn't show a downloading progress or anything.
How can I changes this either in InDesign or using  preloader for the swf file so people don't leave my pages thinking there is nothing to see.
I'm not familiar with preloaders or actionscript.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hi Bob. this question is exactly what i was looking for too, However:
my cs5 crashes since the day i got it (i'm guessing it's because i'm using windows xp, though no-one at Adobe has solved it yet),
so for now, i have to work on the cs4.
is there a way to add a preloader on cs4?
    thanx. Lior

  • How do you add a percentage in the preloader?

How do you add text that changes on the preloader as your site loads? for example a standard "0%" ... "100%" or even controll what frame a gif image displays?
    Thanks

It is not easy to see and I found it by messing around. First of all put them in daye order by dragging the screen down and touching the little alarm clock at the top.  Then touch the space below the earlies reminder and a new one comes up. It defaults to 'today' so you have to touch the new reminder and then touch the 'i' button that appears. You can then change the date and time etc. No easy.
I dont understand why Apple do these thongs before updating the user guide!
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I add a FullScreen button to Project Playback Skin?

How do I add a fullscreen button to the project playback skin? I know how to load another skin (using Project -> Skin Editor) and how to add a custom playback skin (paste custom skin SWF into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5\en_US\Gallery\Playbars) but I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to add a fullscreen button when editing the Flash AS3 so that it will show up in my custom playback skin when loaded into Captivate via Project->Skin Editor. Any ideas?

    Hi there
I might assume that seeing as you were able to work the magick with the CC button it would be a simple task to pick apart the other elements and add the desired button without hijacking the CC button.
I mean, if you are that deep in Flash territory and all, it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to figure out how the buttons are added, no?

  • How do I add an effect to a SmartShape on hover?

How do I add an effect to a smartshape on hover. For example, I've created a green rectangle which is a smartshape and is being used as a button. I have two instances of this button on a slide and am trying to do the following:
    1) SmartShape A (Green rectangle) = On hover, I want this green rectangle to change it's fill color to blue.
    2) SmartShape B (Green rectangle) = On hover, I want this rectangle to have a 4px yellow border (the original had no border, i.e. stroke width =0)
How would I do this without using additional objects?
For example, I don't want to have a duplicate of this smartshape (for each instance), that is used as a rollover shape which superimposes the original shape on hover -- I dont even know if that would work, sounds okay in theory though.
But it would be great if someone could help me with this, I've been struggling for some time to figure out this effect.
    Thanks so much,
    Sean

LOL, in the words of my father: Wish in one hand and spit in the other. See which one gets full faster!
It's the same issue I have with the title of an old book written by Napoleon Hill. Its name is "Think and Grow Rich". It's missing a word! *ACT*. Nobody just thinks and grows rich. Everyone must *ACT* on their thoughts.
So that's why I'm posting. Sure, it's great to state that you wish something were a certain way in Captivate or any other app. What you need to do is to tell Adobe about it. And you do that by visiting the link below and completing the wish form!

    Hi Jacob,
You can buy a subscription for captivate from Adobe.com. Select the Subscription option when you add the product to your online cart. You are given a serial number at the end of your purchase. Just copy and paste the serial number when you launch your trial and follow the onscreen instructions to start using your subscription product.

  • How do you add controls to an inserted video?

I have inserted a video into a captivate (responsive) slide and whilst it works, it auto plays and does not have any controls.
How do I add a play button and stop the video from auto-starting?
    Thanks in advance.

I figured it out.  For those who might have the same problem make sure that when you insert a video you select 'event video' in the options box.  this then gives you the play controls.
