How do I add my own photos to my background?

I go to my System Prefences, then I choose Desktop And Screensaver. There are a ground of pictures under the folder Desktop Pictures. These are the pictures that came with the Macbook, and I can change those. When I click Folders, then Pictures to go to my pictures that I have saved on my computer, I can't choose any of my pictures to change to my background.

Document is a generic name for a document that Apple doesn't know what the format is. The fact that Preview opens it is kind of odd, unless it is a PDF document. I'm not sure that a PDF document can be made a desktop picture. If you can open it with Preview, you can Export it to JPEG and solve the problem right there.

You can't add text to a Photo in iPhoto. You need an external editor for that:

There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

Phone number missing on iPad or iPod touch
If your phone number is not listed on an iPod touch or iPad, follow these steps:
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Verify that you're using the same Apple ID that you are using on your iPhone.
On your iPad or iPod touch, sign out of your Apple ID in the following locations:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Sign in to your Apple ID with FaceTime and iMessage.

That's correct - Photos supports geotagging, but only allows viewing of that information. Once an image is in Photos, geotags cannot be added, deleted, or edited. This post suggests some apps for editing geotags outside of the Photos app. As you mentioned, you can edit the geotags in iPhoto, export to the finder and then import to Photos. I would guess (and hope!) we'll see this added in an update, and hopefully soon!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. if you're creating the slideshow from stills in iDVD use the Settings button at the bottom to bright up the pane where you can add titles and comments. The downside of that is every photo will automatically have it's file name or title entered. If you don't want that then while you're in iPhoto use the Photos->Batch Change->Title->None option before you import into iDVD. Then none of them will have the titles entered and you can add them to just those that you want. Or you can add them while in iPhoto before importing.

You might also be interested in this flash library named SWFHttpRequest Flash/Ajax Utility
Apparently, it adds a JavaScript object for performing XMLHttpRequest-like requests fro flash.
Hence you should be able to use you standard javascript like Ajax request using that.
Else check for similar libraries for flash/give the server request section of your flash documentation a good read.
You might have to play around a bit with the code and your flash documentation to get it working , but I hope this would have given you some pointers.
