How do I change the Apple Id on my iPad app updates?
When updating apps on my ipad2, the wrong Apple Id shows up (an id from another family member's iPhone). We use the same pc with itunes. How can I change this so only my app updates are shown? This is the only place that this Id shows up incorrectly. My correct id shows up in Settings.
Apps are always associated with the Apple ID that was used to purchase them. AFAIK - as long as you are using apps on your iPad that were purchased with another Apple ID - those app updates will always popup when they are available. The only way to remove the updates is to delete the apps.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

if you just want to change the apple id sign out in settings>icloud, settings>messages>send and recieve, settings>facetime, and settings>itunes and app store. Then sign into all of these locations with new apple id. ONLY PROBLEM WHEN DOING THIS WAY is when apps left on device from your apple id need updated they will require your apple id and password -

Settings->iTunes and App Stores->Apple ID->Sign Out Sign in with another Apple ID.
However all Apps purchased with the previous ID will be forever tied to it and will always require it to update.
So if you plan on changing owners its better to wipe the iPad clean, and let the new owner set it up from scratch.
Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings will put the iPad back to the way it was when it was first taken out of the box. -

You do not. Apps and any content purchased from the iTunes store are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

I installed some apps using an apple I'd that is no longer active. I can't update them because it asks for the password of the old I'd instead of the I'd I currently use. How can I change the apple I'd associated with these apps? I still want to use them. One app I paid for using the old I'd. The other app is free. I have already tried deleting them and reinstalling them.
If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account -

Tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap 'sign out' on the popup and then log back in with the updated version - if that is also greyed out then check to see if you currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts (under the 'allow changes' heading) set to 'Don't Allow Changes'

Did you try getting the password for the old account reset ? You should be able to do that via http://iforgot.apple.com - all of the content that you downloaded with that old account will remain tied to that account, so only that account can potentially redownload that content and/or download updates to its apps.
To log out of an account you can tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and log out of the account and you can then log in with a different account. If using the account for iCloud you can log out of it for that as well via Settings > iCloud > Delete Account - if your iPad is on iOS 7 and Find My iPad is enabled then you will need to type in the account's password to disable Find My iPad. -

A family member would like to begin to use his Apple ID now on his own iPad WiFi mini running the new OSX 8. Under the Settings, iCloud we cannot find a way to switch from my Apple ID to his Apple ID which was opened with the purchase of his iPhone 5C a few months ago. When we select the "Edit" option only the name of the Apple ID can be changed, not the iCloud email address. Is there a way of signing out of the current ID and signing in with the one we want to replace the old ID with?
To change the iCloud ID, you have to go to Settings>iCloud and tap Sign Out (at the bottom). When you do you will get an option to keep a copy of the iCloud data on your device. Choose to do so if you need to migrate the data to the new account. On a Mac, you go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out, then sign back in with the new ID.
To change the ID for other services (iMessage, FaceTime, iTunes Store, etc.), you tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. -

No, go to http://appleid.apple.com and Login in with your current email and pass.
Then tap/click on Edit near your email address to change your email address to the new one.
This will keep all your purchased content available and associated with the new email. -

Go to Settings > Store and tap on the current ID. Sign out of that one and then sign in with the new one. If you downloaded any apps under the first ID, you will have to go back to settings - sign out of the current ID and then sign back in with the old ID or you will not be able to update those apps.

ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them. Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password. Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another. -

Settings>Store. Tap on your Apple ID, sign out and then resign in with the correct Apple ID.
