How do I choose which email address to send a calendar invite from?

I use iCalendar for business.  I don't want to send company calendar invites with my personal @.mac account.  Years ago I had a Bberry and could choose which email address to send it from while creating a meeting in the calendar.  Is this not possible with Apple Technology?

Open Mail app. Click where it says mail on the upper left corner of the screen, choose preferences choose accounts tab on the top then select the account you don't want anymore and click the - button at the bottom.

  • In a Smart Group in AddressBook 6.1, how do I designate which email addresses I want to use?

In a Smart Group in AddressBook 6.1, how do I designate which email address I want to use for contacts who have more than one address when I'm mailing to the whole group? The "Edit Distribution List" is grayed out.

Thanks, Barney, but that's not really my question. The "Edit Distribution List" is in the Edit menu on my version, too, but I can't use it to edit the email addresses of contacts who are in Smart Groups. In the version of AddressBook I was using before I bought a new MacBook Pro and upgraded to Mac OSX Lion, I could use the "Edit Distribution List" to pick which email address I wanted to use for contacts in Smart Groups with more than one address. Apparently that isn't an option in Lion. The Help menus for AddressBook 6.1 even say that "Edit Distribution Lists" doesn't work for Smart Groups.
Okay. I get that. But some of my contacts have more than one email address, so how do I choose which email address I want Mail to use for these contacts when I send an email to a Smart Group they're in?

  • Choosing which email address shows when emailing

How do you  select which email address appears when you click on 'write' in Apple Mail? I have 5 addresses but for some reason it has started choosing one that I do not use that often rather than my main usage one. I'm using Mavericks.

No, it's your reply to my solution.
Mine say Csound1 at top left.
But it works now, enjoy the accolade.

  • How do you specify which email address to use in a group list?

    Hi All,
I've got several group lists created in Address Book. When I want to send an email to a group using Mail I cannot specify which email address gets used for a person that has multiple addresses in Address Book.
My process is as follows: create a new blank message, address the note to myself, move to the bcc field, click the "Address" button at the top of the message pane. When I click on a name that has multiple email addresses I can click on the one that I want, but when I click to another name and click back the previously selected address is highlighted again. It seems that the selection of the address won't 'stick'. Is there any way to force the selection? Also, I originally thought that the group list defaulted to the home address, but I noticed that some entries have their work address selected by default.
    Thanks for any help.
    -Chris

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I knew there was an option to do that somewhere. For some reason I had it in my mind that you made those selections in Mail.

  • How do I change my email address when sending a PDF file:

How do I change my email address (correct it) when sending a PDF file?

You'll need to add the email address you want to use to Reader... If you're not prompted to do so when clicking the Submit button, you can do it via Edit - Preferences - Email Accounts.

  • ICal & attendees: how do I select which email address?

When I add attendees to an iCal event (local or CalDAV, it doesn't matter), from either the Address Panel or dragging names from Address Book itself, they're automatically added with their 'top' email address. This is somewhat expected, but I cannot change the address that their name is linked to.
    For example:
a friend of mine has two email addresses. The top one is their school account, and the bottom one is their gmail one.
In the Address Panel, I can see (and select) either address, and drag to the event's attendee list. But it always selects their school account, and the drop-down in iCal doesn't give me any other options.
If I drag from Address Book, the behavior is the same.
I've occasionally encountered apparent glitches, where an attendee is added TWICE with one drag-drop action. Stranger still, these result in the first/top name containing only their top email address, while the second contains all of their email addresses (the expected and desired result).
If I type in their name, the drop-down list contains all possible matches and all their email addresses, and if I select one, it behaves as expected, and selects that address, and not the top one. The name now in the list only contains the selected email, however, instead of all of their addresses.
So... is there a way I can get all those email addresses to appear all the time? Or at least some way to enforce which email is added, instead of randomly adding the 'top' one, which may or may not be correct?
And if this isn't the normal behavior (which it doesn't seem to be), may I HIGHLY recommend that it become the normal behavior? Obviously, an email address must be chosen by default, but why limit the choices when you have access to all of them? Especially when it makes groups nearly useless when used to add as attendees?

To view a different account in the Mail app tap the email account name at the top left of the Inbox, then tap Mailboxes at the top of the folder selection window, and you should then be able to select a different email account and navigate down into it's folders

  • Choosing which email address to be used in an alert?

I ical is a great organizational app. I have gone to this forum hoping to find someone else who has tried to do what I want to do, use this to alert another person via email. I "clicked" on the alarm catagory, "clicked" on the email choices, and I am unsure how to go to the all the address book choices. As all that is listed on the drop down menu is my email and I want to choose a new emailee. I have gone to both apps preferences, but no luck. You see I want to alert a "payee" that their bill to me is due.

i can assume by the lack of responses that no one came up with a solution

  • How can i choose which email client safari uses to email web pages?

Right now it tries to use gmail (google chrome symbol).  When i click on the arrow, next to the address bar, the google chrome symbol appears next to the option email this page.  If selected, it then opens google chrome on the gmail sign in website.

Nevermind I found out that my email reader was changed to google chrome, within my mail preferences.

  • How do I send a calendar invite from my phone to a non-Apple device (PC using Outlook) in a non-iCloud format?

I have searched but haven't come up with an answer yet.
Here's my situation:  I use multiple calendars across multiple platforms (work and home, Exchange & iCal).  To keep them in sync, I send an invite to one or the other (work email / personal email).  While I can fairly reliably send an email from work (Outlook / Exchange) to my iCal via email (using Mail on iPhone, iPad or MacAir), I cannot do the reverse.  The culprit, per se, is our corporate security policies.  Since the invite comes from iCloud and to accept it (and have it added to my calendar), I have to communicate with iCloud.  But alas, said communication is blocked (corporate stance:  since it's possible to do file sharing it's been tagged as such and blocked).
While I would love to change the corporate policy, I am unable to do so
So, my question is how do I change the invite to not come from iCloud?  I tried switching off iCal sync in iCloud, but when I do, the invitation option within iCal no longer exists.
Is there a preference switch somewhere that I am missing?

Is the message saying to log into iCloud on her device and not only a computer?
To use iCloud on a you must have an Apple device that can use iCloud.
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC (Windows 7 or 8 required), first set up your iCloud account on your other iOS devices or Mac, then install iCloud for Windows.

  • Choosing an email address on contacts with multiple addresses

Has anyone found a way, using Siri, to choose which email address to send to when a contact has multiple addresses?  She asks which address would you like me to send the message to and I have found no way to verbally choose and address.

You cannot rename the labels in Outlook except by modifying the Contact form.  Which, as a developer, I can do.  However, my fear is that it won't be pushed to the iPhone since they already have unique identifiers now and they are only showing up on the iPhone as "email".  While it may be that Exchange only labels them as email Android devices equate E-mail to Business Email and E-mail 2 as Home Email by default.
Maybe the next iterration of Siri will allows us to chose first, second, or third.
    Thanks for trying!

  • Event Invite - Select email address to send from

OK...this is close to my issue, but not the solution I'm looking for:
    discussions.apple.com/message/7009550#7009550
Not to mention it's three years old....we should've progressed by now.
So, here's my issue.  Basically I use iCal and Mail for both business and personal applications.  I have a business email address and two personal email addresses associated with my ME card and being used in Mail.  I have a number of calendars set up in iCal, but basically am only interested in dealing with my "Work" and my "Home" calendars.  Is there a way for me to select (or set) which email address I send my invites from depending on which calendar I am using?  i.e.:  if I set up a meeting in my work calendar, I want it to come from my work email.  If I set up a meeting in my Home calendar, I want it to come from one of my personal email addresses.
The closest solution I have found is setting the "send new mail from" field in Mail Preferences to the appropriate email BEFORE sending the invite.  This does work, but is cumbersome, and not something I would readily remember to do every time.  Not to mention that it is 2011....shouldn't the ability to select my send from email address be a basic function of iCal?

Thanks. That answers my question, but doesn't help my situation. Not much sense in having alias emails, other then with my MAC/MobileMe, if I can't use them from my iPhone. I have to wait until I return home to reply if I don't want to send from my main email.

  • How do i send a calendar invite

how do i send a calendar invite from the iphone?

The only documentation that comea withe iPhone is a quick start guide. The full manual is online. The section on the calendar says:
    Invitations
If you have an iCloud account, a Microsoft Exchange account, or a supported CalDAV account, you can send and receive meeting invitations.
so if you calendar is not one of the above (on the server side) is not one of the above you can't send invitations
As to when Apple will add the ability we are all just users so we would have no idea but it's not up to apple as it's having the support for invitations in the underlying calendar system
