How do I close 'DashboardClient' in order to to install Adobe Flash Player?

I am using an iMAC OS X version 10.9.5. I must update my Flash Player to watch videos. However I can only download to 97% unless I close down 'DashboardClient'. How do I close down 'DashboardClient'?

I have tried several times to install Adobe flash player 11.0.1.152. It keeps stating to shut off Mozilla. How do you shut Mozilla off?

Right click the Live Messenger icon in the system tray where you see the clock and choose Exit.
