How do I create a new account for an iPod that is on an existing account? My brother and I have shared an account for five years, and now that I'm moving out, I want to create my own account but still want to be able to play the music I've purchased.

In order to continue to play and sync the music you purchased with your old account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to do so. You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer and then entering in your old account credentials.
That's all you should need to. Then just create your own account and start purchasing and using it the same you have with the old one.

Apple do not repair iPhones they exchange for a factory refurbished unit either free if still under warranty or for a fee if out of warranty
Normally an iPhone that has failed (but NOT through user misuse ) will be replaced on the spot at their Apple retail Stores genius bar -
My dad and I have shared an iTunes account for years and I just created a new apple id but I have no Idea how to get all those purchases to this new account. Help please?
The old Apple ID (presumably your dads) owns those songs and your new Apple ID does not. However, your dad can authorize your iD to use the songs by going to Store > Authorize This Computer from your iTunes menu and entering his Apple ID and password.

My ipohne and ipad use the same account. My wife wants to setup her own account for the ipad and utilize family sharing. How can I change the account in my ipad?
Hi,
Are you talking about changing the Apple ID used for purchases in iTunes? If so go to 'Settings->iTunes & App Store-> then 'tap' on the Apple ID that appears and click Sign Out on menu that appears. You can now login with a different Apple ID.

I have shared an acount with my mother and now i have moved. Is it possible to create my own acount and still have all my aplication and games available?
Yes, you can keep the apps and music, but not transfer them to your new account, so if you want to download past purchases or update any of them you'll need the password of the apple ID with which you first bought them.

I moved from USA to South Africa and now cannot play my music on my new PC. I cannot remember the password for my USA account so cannot deauthorize that account to allow me to play my music on my South African account. How can I now play the music? When I try to use my secret questions to access my old account I am told I have the wrong answers, including my own birth date!!!
There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them: -
I want to start my own account separate from my parents. Can I transfer my music from one account to another? If so, how?

Lisa,
Just get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library. With the exception of any DRM-protected files (purchased before mid-2009 and never upgraded) they will play fine, even though they are technically associated with the original account. -
My wife and I have shared one iTunes account for 6 years. We want to create our own Apple IDs, so when we sync to our new iMac we won't see each others contacts, photos, calendar, music, etc. Is there a way to move music/apps from one ID to a new ID?

No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library). -
my kids set up itune account on my computer years ago and no one remembers the password. They started new accounts on their macs. I want to start my own itunes account, but I would like to get some of the music off this account. Any suggestions?
The easiest way would probably be to recover the data of the old account and change it to match your current info, after that you can continue to use the account without any problems. To recover your account go to: Apple - My Apple ID
Alternatively if you want to start a new account do it and then contact iTunes support to see if the y can transfer your purchases (I know of cases on which they have done it) -
My email address has changed and when I try to play purchased songs it asks me to authorize another computer under the old email address. How do I play the music that I have purchased? My account is current with the new email address.
You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

I have the new version of Itunes and have upgraded from 1st gen. Ipod to 4th gen. Ipod touch, I am unable to sync all my music from my old Itunes to my new Ipod, also when I try to play the music on the computer through Itunes it says it needs to be authorized but keeps using my Old email account (which I don't have anymore) for me to authorize, is there a way to fix/ change this so I don't have to buy that music over again?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Try syncing using the manual method
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
Backup the iPod to iTunes and then restore from that backup
]iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes -

As noted, this forum is for questions and discussions about the TechNet Wiki. We don't have enough information to move this question to the right forum. For example what operating system? I think it best that you ask your question in a Microsoft Answers/Community
forum here:

I cannot move this thread there, so will need to post again there. Select your operating system first.

Hi, I've just upgraded to an Iphone 4s but still want to use my Ipod. Can you have music and apps on both and if so how do you keep them updated? Is there a step by step guide anywhere? Thanks
"Can you have music and apps on both "
Yes.
"how do you keep them updated?"
Not sure what you mean.
"Is there a step by step guide anywhere? "
Guide for what?
Sync each of them as always. There is no need to do anything, just sync them to your computer.
