How do I create a new mailbox file, not folder. My primary mailbox file is getting too large and I want to split it into multiple physical files.

I have done this multiple times in the past (I have several files - not folders - that contain mail). However due to the fact that II was somewhat brain damaged several years ago I can no longer remember (or figure out) how to do it. For instance, I have a "MoreJunque" mailbox file that is (from the "Properties" dialog) at mailbox:///C:/Users/Daniel Mathews/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/bxk6ngnt.default/Mail/pop.att.yahoo.com/MoreJunque. However, my inbox is in mailbox:///C:/Users/Daniel Mathews/AppData/Roaming/Thunderbird/Profiles/bxk6ngnt.default/Mail/pop.att.yahoo.com/Inbox. These are unique files that contain folders.

right click on your account on the left and select new folder.

  • How do I import folders from one library to another? My original library has become to large and I want to split it. There is not enough memory to select all the folders I want to move to create a new library.

I also created a new library and tried file-import but cannot see / access any files in the original aperture library with that command.

If you use the Command to Export Project as New Library, then such a Library can be imported into another Library with the command to  Import Library/Project.  The first such export as New Library can be the"seed' Library for starting the process.
But the most important point is there is no performance gain from small Libraries where you think one has become too large, if the new Library is to be on the same disk drive as the original.  My primary library is 1 TB in size, and works as well as tiny test libraries.

  • This may seem a silly question, but how can I create a new mailbox on my iPad?

This may seem a silly question, but how can I create a new mailbox on my iPad?

A new mailbox/folder - you can't, not yet. If you're using an IMAP mail account, you can create a mailbox on the server (either through webmail or desktop mail) and it'll appear on the iPad.
We've been told the upcoming iOS5 will allow you to do so (I assume, provided you have IMAP).

  • How do I create a new mailbox? (Not account)

I can't figure out how to create a new mailbox or folder. (It even shows them in the manual) I know to tap the folder icon on bottom. It takes the email you want to file back to the INBOX, TRASH page. Now what how do you create a folder? Thanks.

If you are accessing an IMAP account, you can create additional server stored mailboxes with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account, or via webmail access for the account using a browser, and the server stored mailboxes created will be available automatically when accessing the account with the iPhone.
If a POP account, this is not possible by any means.

When I select a mail message to move to a mailbox, I receive "Move this message to a new mailbox" at the top of the Iphone 4, but I can't create a new mailbox.  I tried

Mailboxes/Folders cannot be created directly on the iPhone. They must be created on the mail server, then synced to your phone. This requires an Exchange or IMAP account, as such is not possible with a POP account.

  • How do you create a new mailbox

    Hi,
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 8.1.
I also have Verizon webmail which I access via the iPhone's Mail app.
I am trying to create a new mailbox in order to store certain emails on my iPhone somewhere besides the Inbox.
In the Mail app and at Mailboxes, I do: Edit->New Mailbox   and then enter a name for the new mailbox.
However, everytime I press "Save", I get:
              Unable to Create Mailbox
The mailbox couldn't be created on the server
              <OK>
    Any help is appreciated.
    TIA,
    Matt

  • How do I create a new .DS_Store file for the Desktop?

I have an account, in this case it is the System Administrator account (which I seldom use), where the Desktop icons all scrunch up to the right side of the screen. I can re-arrange them, but when I log out and sign back on, the icons are shifted back to the right side of the screen. I thought perhaps I had a corrupted .DS_Store file that needed to be removed. However, it turns out that I can find no .DS_Store file to remove for this account. Finder just doesn't seem to be able to create a new one. I'm not sure how or when the old one disappeared.
Any suggestions how I can get the Finder or something else to create a new .DS_Store for the Desktop so that icons will stay put?

I think I found an answer (not a solution) to my problem. Consulting with Apple Support, there is no way for the System Administrator's desktop to "remember" the positions of icons from one session to the next. They will always move to the right-hand side of the screen when you log back in. Apparently this is a change that occurred with OS 10.6.4. No reason by Apple given for the change, nor is it readily apparent to me why the Desktop or Finder in the System Admin account should work any differently than in any other account. Might simply be an oversight or a bug.
If anybody has a fix, I would appreciate learning about it.

To create a mailbox in mail the ipad manual says tap edit in the mailbox list. There is no edit in the mailbox list. How do I create a mailbox?

An IMAP configuration will NOT allow one to create mailboxes on one's iPad - from personal experience - one requires a POP account.  Briefly, the Apple Mail app for iOS 6 (iPad, iPhone) has no capability to add mailboxes to the original ones that are included as part of the app - if (and only if) the email account is configured as IMAP.  So... Keniff is correct: One must go to one's laptop/desktop, open a browser, and add the mailboxes desired for your IMAP account. Unfortunately, one seems to have little choice for the account configuration.  Apple's iOS does the configuration quite automatically with one's account provider. For example, my Charter mail is IMAP while my Gmail account is POP.  The latter allows edit/add for new or existing mailboxes on my iPad 2.

How do I create a PDF file? All I'm trying to do is open a blank file to start creating a pdf.....

    Hi rainbowi62203236,
You can use either Adobe PDF Pack or Acrobat to create a PDF file. If you don't have Acrobat, please feel free to give it a try. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • HOw do I create a new PDF file that incorporates the text changes I made in the previous PDF file?

All of my edits appear properly in the saved file but as pop-ups etc. that cannot be seen when I print a copy.
This seems like an obvious thing to want to do, but I cannot find out how to do it from any of the documentation (including video tutorials).

    Something to try:
Create a Comment Summary report (a PDF file).
There are several approaches that can be used.
--| Work out of the Comment List (Comments > Comment View > Show Comments List or click the overlapped comment bubbles at the bottom of the Navigation panel)
--| Comments > Show Comments List
    --| Comments > Summarize Comments
--| Comments > Print with Comments Summary
In the Summarize Options dialog, select the desired layout, paper size, how comments are to be sorted and font size.
Select Include All comments. If you want to sort by review status, author, comment type, etc then go into the Comments List.
The tool bar provides various means of configuration.
When the Print dialog is present, under the "Properties" button (upper right), use the drop-down menu for 'Comments and Forms' to select "Document and Markups".
The imprint on the paper will have the PDF page content and annotations (comments) provided in the PDF by use of the Text Edit tools.
So, you can provide the text entered into a Text Edit's pop-up two ways.
First - You have the PDF of the Comments Summary Report.
Second - You have the hardcopy of this PDF.
Of note is that, with Adobe's Tech Comm Suite, you can author in FrameMaker or MS Word, output a PDF for comments and review, then bring these comments back into the source authoring file.
    Be well...

  • How do you create a new iMovie but not erase the old one?

I've been working on this iMovie for fun and I got an assignment to make a movie, but I don't want to delete my old movie. What do I do?

You don't have to remove your project. Just make a new project. They'll both be stored in the iMovie Ptojects folder and can both be accessed from the project library in iMovie. Perhaps you mean something else and I'm not understanding the question.

  • Exchange 2010 - Create a new Mailbox Database

Hello all and thanks in advance for your time and expertise.
    Here's my scenario:
In my ORG we have one exchange server.  The hard drive space on this server was quite low so we added two more drives which are independent and in their own Raid Configuration from the drives that were already installed.  In other words, the current
mailbox database is housed on drives with a total storage capacity of 837GB.
We recently added two more drives, each 2TB, and configured them in a RAID1.
I'm going to create a new Mailbox Database on the 2TB drives and move over some mailboxes to balance out the storage.
Question one:  When we move some of the mailboxes over to the new database - will this free up space on the existing database or do we have to reclaim it such as with an offline degrag.
Question two:  When I create the new mailbox database and I'm prompted to Enter the new file locations for the database (database path and log folder path) - do I just change the paths to the new drive letter path such as G:
We're eventually going to Office365 (hopefully sooner rather than later) but I just want to make sure I handle this process correctly. Your input here is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,
Your databse size is 650 GB.  As per my experience , it would not take more than 14 hours for total mailbox movement.
You will be creating new database of 2 TB , you have already allocated 2 Tb drive to exchange server.
If you are dividing drive into 2 or four part and creating that much databse, it will be helpful for maintence activity in future.
It is recommended that you move mailbox during off bussiness hours, it will fasten the movment,as there will be no load on exchange server . You can do it on daily basis Or you can do it on weekend .
You need to take care of logs generated during movment, are you going to  use seperate log drive for databse, or combine with database drive. If you are moving all mailbox to one database, It will genrate same size of logs file as of total mailboxes
size (650 GB). You neeed to handle it properly. Enable circular logging on database, after movment ,you can disable it.
Moreover, if you will create move request of all mailboxes, exchange will process nly 50 request, rest will be in queue state.
Regarding public folders, I understand there is no seperate disk for public folders, if you planning to delete old dtabse and free up disk space, you will have to move this public folders database to new disk also.
Would recommend that you take advice  from other expert in this forum, before implementation.
