How do I create a screensaver from an mov file that other mac user can download? Is there free software or shareware available for this?

I have seen iScreensaver and PulpMotion and several others but I simply wish to convert an mov file to a screensaver that other mac can download. I haven't been able to come across a tutorial for this that works on Lion. Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

If that doesn't work you can purchase iLife 11 on disk (don't get the download) for about $29. You WILL get iDVD.
or if you like downloads, go to the Apple Store via the Store button at the top, (not the App Store) and look for iLife 11 it will list iWeb and iDVD. It IS available online.

You don't need conversion programs, iTunes can copy most of your content over to the iPad via the file sharing section, and some apps also support Dropbox, email attachments, transfer via your wifi network. There are a number of apps that you can get that support Microsoft office file (microsoft don't make an app versions of their software) e.g. from Apple there are Pages (word support), Numbers (excel) and Keynote (powerpoint), and from third-parties there are apps such as Documents To Go and QuickOffice HD

Contact Form: How do i create a link from an XML file to another domain to read a PHP File

So i purchased a template from Template Monster and im having a little trouble with the contact form. The server that im uploading it to is a privite server that the company owns. It supports ASP and not PHP. I cant seem to get the ASP form to work so all i want to do it create a link to another one of there servers that supports PHP and have the contact form link to there and read the PHP file (that i will upload to that server) and send the email from there.

You can open both Muse files at once, copy the content of a page on one site, then paste it into a new page on the other site. You might have to redo some of the page styling.

How do you restore the system from a backup file that you created previously

I have a notebook, Pavilion g6 - 1031TX running windows 7 64bit OS, and ran the backup utility a few weeks ago before running a full system recovery to attemp to fix an issue - this issue was fixed by warranty, and now I need to recover everything from the backup files, I have run the restore executable in the folder and it created another folder on my C: drive (System recovery files), how do I use this to restore the system to its previous state?

Unfortunately, the backup utilty portion of Recovery is not optimal solution for restoring many files.Unless you know exactly where they go you are stuck. Most of the important stuff such as photos,music,etc will be in the 'Users' folder under your user name. You will have to manually move them to correct location.
A better option in the future is Windows 7's backup app in Control Panel.

How to Create a DVD from a .mov File?

I have a .mov file of a concert and I want to make a DVD out of it. Ideally, I'd like to have full menu options just like a normal DVD. From the main menu, I'd like to have two choices: 1) being able to watch the full length concert, and 2) being able to select individual songs (much like a scene selection on a regular DVD). The .mov file is in really great quality (the concert was filmed in HD) so I'd also like to keep as much quality as possible. How can I separate my .mov file into separate chapters so I can place each individual song into the menu choices? Thanks for any help!

NOt sure what you mean by "first play." I've done the tutorials on iDVD, but still can't figure it out. Is it possible to delete a movie that in the right box, i.e., previously selected? For some reason it says i've exceeded the size of the DVD even though it's only 1.8 GB. So i want to delete it and compress what i have, but i can't get rid of what's there. I suppose i could just delete the whole iDVD file and start again, or change the file name of the movie on the HD, but that seems very unMac-like.
There's nothing in the iDVD help either on "project validation" errors or how to correct other errors. But right now a simple way to delete a movie would be helpful.

I want to be able to create HD/SD hybrid files like the ones you automatically get when you purchase HD items from the iTunes store. I have several home-made band videos that were shot with my HD camera, but I want to also keep them on my ipod, but I don't want to have to sort through tons of videos with 'iPod' or '720p' in their titles. Anyone know how to combine both versions into a single item in my library so I don't have to maintain two files?

As I have never purchased an HD movie from iTunes, I did not realize they were even selling "hybrid" content. However, it does make for an interesting question and a problem that is easily solved. I assume, for the purposed of this discussion, your iPod is not a current model having built-in HD playback capabilities.
It turns out that iTunes actually scans the tracks before syncing/serving track data to various devices. So the easiest solution to your problem is to simply use QT 7 Pro to embed a secondary SD video track in your 720p HD file. It should be noted that iTunes appears to require both video tracks be in an "active" state. If not, the inactive video track will not be evaluated before attempting to sync or serve the video track. Thus, if the SD track is inactive, the movie will not sync to to an older iPod but play normally on TV, iPad, or HD iPhone/iPod Touch devices. On the other hand, if the HD video track is deactivated, then the SD video track will be sync'd/served to all devices.
Since all video tracks must be active, a secondary recommendation would be to set the SD video track on a layer behind the the HD video track. While the video content will sync/serve to mobile devices and play correctly on them no matter on which layer the HD and SD video is placed, the default cover art image and QT Players will reflect/display the tracks as they are actually layered in the player. Thus, as previously noted, you can avoid this by hiding the smaller dimensioned track behind the larger.
Also be advised that QT 7 Pro places the modified content in an MOV file. While this seems to bother some users, it has no significant affect on playback for software or hardware players/devices. Content can be wrapped/re-wrapped in M4V or MP4 files containers using third-party software if so desired and the process is compatible with your particular work flow.

Is it too much to ask that a Mac user can just OPEN and USE a PDF form created by LiveCycle Designer PC software?!?

My problem is just that- I have created all my forms using LiveCycle Designer because it is easier to make the forms accessible to individuals with disabilities. Apparently it doesn't make Mac users have access to the forms. I've received complaints from Mac users that cannot complete or submit the forms that I created. I'm not asking how to recreate using another software, I know how to do that. I'm asking is there a work around to allow a Mac user to open a PDF form or even XML (bedded within an HTML page) on a Mac computer WITHOUT having to use bootcamp, parallels, etc. and be able to complete the form and submit, print or email it????? I've exhausted all my knowledge on this thus far and I'm hoping to find something that will help. So far all forums talk about how Mac users need to have a PC side to their computer. Isn't there another way?

You should never load a resource file until it is actually needed. Prefetching resource files may seem like a way to save time, but this practice actually slows down your app right away. In addition, if you end up not using the resource, loading it wastes memory for no good purpose.

I have created a pdf file from a document. Now I want to post a link to the pdf document on my website and on Facebook. In my Adobe Reader XI there is a tab that says "Create Link", but when I click onto it, it just takes me back to the original file, where it is saved on my computer, I am not real techy. I have tried my best to fix it by adding another account to my computer and setting that one as the administator and mine as the regular user. When i did that the itunes worked on both, but when i changed my account back to administator and the other account to the regular user my account didnt work but the other one did. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall itunes. This message popped up when i tried to update the itunes to the newest one. And still it wont go away. Can someone help me please. Thanks!

How do I submit a private CD track listing so that other family members can get it?

I have created a CD of family recordings to destribute to different family members. I want to upload the track listing so that they can get the info for their uploaded CD from Apple. The drop down Submit CD Track Listing is inoperative with either the album or the playlist selected, so how do I do it?

How do you add cue points to a MOV file that Director 12 can read?

I have just downloaded the Trial of Director 12 - and unless I can add cue points to video that it can interpret - I am not going to be able to achieve what I need to. I've spent the last day and a half looking over the scant documentation provided by Adobe, and anything else I could find online - but the only answers that came anywhere near were for old versions using discontinued xtras.

You can do this by using 3 sprites in addition to the SWF. In this example, I've named them "videoPlay", "videoRewind, and "videoStop". The SWF in this case was named "video."

How do I save PSD files created in windows so MAC users can open and work

I have been designing photoshop files for sale to photographers online and all of my work has been created in a windows 7 system. I had a photographer contact me saying that the PSD was trouble to open and that the fonts would not work on his MAC computer.
Can someone supply me with information on creating/saving windows PSD files so that a MAC user can open them and also use the fonts I supply with the files.
The files I create are multilayered PSD's and contain fonts for windows PC use and I don't want to exclude MAC users from utilizing my work.
Any help appriciated.

Just save. There is no difference in files between platforms.
There are some Windows-centric font formats that aren't portable, by any OpenType or TrueType font will be portable between platforms.
