When I go into Messages---Preferences---Accounts--- + ------ the options are AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk, and Jabber. Nothing for a phone number.

Thanks... I appreciate the reply. Since I wrote the previous email, I actually went and changed my apple id (the main id) and the documentation I looked at said iCloud will set mail up automatically(?)... I had it working before.
Also, I tried to manually set up the ID via the Mail Accounts screen(s) and I can't figure out what my server information is... Pop or Imap? What's the outgoing server and the incoming server?
I typically have never had problems setting up mail accounts (in apple mail) with no problem.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There is nothing stopping you doing so, but you won't be able to sync anything between them.

Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, sign back in using the ID you want to use.

My daughter and I both have Ipods, and want to setup SEPARATE accounts. Itunes 7 worked great, but now when we 'upgraded' to 8, it MERGED all our files. So I thought I had a separate account, but it turns out when I load a new song, it goes into HER Itunes files. She deleted all my info, and I REALLY want a separate account (that sticks).
My songs are still in my directory under "Mikes Itunes", but when I reloaded them into what I thought was a fresh entry, it turns out it went into my daughter's Itunes file too! What is up with Itunes 8? and how can you create a TRUE separate account so I have control over MY songs!?

First, let's make it easier to swap between accounts. In the Accounts pane of System Preferences click on the Login Options (after unlocking the pane). Enable fast user switching. This will put a new menu in the top right of the screen. You can then swap to the other account without having to log out of the current one.
Log into the original account. Select the folder you want access from the other account and choose Get Info from the file menu. There is a section called Sharing & Permissions. You will need to click on the padlock to make changes. Click on the + to add permissions for the other user account by selecting the user account from list that appears. Set the permission for that account to read only. Once you have it listed then choose the "Apply to enclosed items" from the gear menu below the list. This should give you access from the other account to that folder and any folders contained in it.
For iTunes you will want to do this to the Music folder, giving you access to the files below. From within iTunes you can select Add to Library from the file menu, and then select the music from the other account to that account's iTunes library. Once you have set up the new library whoever's library is the original can clean up the library to remove any music they don't want (now that it's in the new account).

You can delete the iCloud account from your device without affecting the contents of iCloud whatsoever. All you are doing by deleting it from your phone is removing the link to that iCloud account, so Photo Stream will get turned off, Contacts will no longer sync, and can be removed from the device if you wish (you will be prompted about this when you delete it). But the only thing that will be affected by the Delete is your device.
Once you have set up a new iCloud account with your new ID, then you will be able to back up your device to your new iCloud account if you wish!

I want to set up an iTunes account for my minor to use without having to input credit card information. I want to give him an iTunes allowance or prepaid iTunes cards for funds.
If this can't be done, can I create a user account from MY iTunes account to do basically the same? I do NOT want to tie a credit card to his account or user ID...

In order to continue to play and sync the music you purchased with your old account, you'll need to authorize your new computer/iTunes library to do so. You can do this by choosing Store -> Authorize This Computer and then entering in your old account credentials.
That's all you should need to. Then just create your own account and start purchasing and using it the same you have with the old one.

How do I create multiple FB accounts for uploading iPhoto pix?

I create content for several small business Facebook accounts.
I was hoping to create multiple FB accounts within the iPhoto sharing accounts preferences, but iPhoto doesn't seem to accept my FB alter egos.
I'd like to be able to have an account that goes right to my personal page pkus a separate sharing account for each FB page for which I'm an administrator. Doesn't seem like too much to ask, but I've been trying to figure this out for a few weeks now. Alas, FB has no real help to speak of so I throw myself on the mercy of the iPhoto community.
Any suggestions? It would make uploading to FB much speedier--so I'd do it whenever I import pix from my camera into iPhoto instead of being a FB slacker.

Ahh, no wonder.
I had assumed from the account preference choices that I ought be able to create multiple sharing accounts in FB, because of the + sign. And, in fact, for a while time I did have two sharing accounts for two different personal FB accounts. At that time it did work to upload photos directly from iPhoto to the two different personal accounts. But I was never able to upload directly from iPhoto to the intended business account. And since upgrading I can't seem to create a second personal FB account in iPhoto.
