How do I delete apps on my iPhone that no longer exist on the app store?

So, I finally took the time to clean up my app library tonight. What resulted is a little frustrating. After deleting all the old apps I no longer use, my iPhone decided to sync for some reason and 24 apps that I had just deleted were synced to my iPhone. They were in a waiting state and difficult to delete, but I figured it out. I just had to re-download them from the app store and then re-delete them. My problem now is that 2 of the apps don't exist any more on the app store, so I can't re-download them to delete them. They are both dark and have with their name below them until I touch them, then they say waiting but nothing happens. If I touch and hold to delete them, they do start to wiggle with the "x" above them, and hitting the "x" brings up the delete screen but nothing happens when I press delete. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I did try restarting my iPhone to no avail. And, the 2 apps are "Emoji Free!", and "ZJ", which I think stands for Zombie Jombie.
Thanks in advance.
Kenneth

If they are in itunes and selected to sync, then they will sync back to the iphone if you do as the above post suggests.
You can deselect them in itunes and sync.  This will remove them from iphone, but leave them in itunes.
You can delete then from itunes and sync and they will be gone from iphone and itunes.

  • How do i delete file names showing up that no longer exist? thx

I have bought Groupons that convert to PDF files. Once I print them, the file name remains on Adobe Reader X. I can't figure out how to delete these. The file itself is basically empty. Can't figure this out and I don't see any way to delete the title. I don't use PDF myself and have no idea what to do to delete. Most stuff, I can right click, scroll to delete and it's gone. Not so on Adobe !!! Just want to clean up the computer. These files have been printed & used - they need to go !!!!
    Thanks for any help

I'd personally advise against using any kind of cleanup tool, however. They frighten me.
Don't be fightened of CCleaner; it's benign.  And it can be tailored to do exactly and only what you want.

You should be able to delete the photos by syncing with iTunes. Either remove the checkmark beside "Sync Photos From" on the photos page of iTunes or change the selection of photos to be synced. Each time you sync it is supposed to set the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selection in iTunes.

How do I delete songs from my iphone that are not on my itunes account?

You mean music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store?
If so, that means the music was transferred from your iTunes library on computer via the iTunes sync process - unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber.
Music transferred from your computer can be removed the same way - via the iTunes sync process or you should be able to delete individual songs direct from the iPhone.

There is NO other way to get photos off your phone, that were synced to your phone, other than through the iTunes sync process. Just make sure there are no checks, in any boxes, for any photos, that you do not want on your phone.

  • TS1702 I LOST CONTENT WITHIN AN ADDRESS BOOK APP, THE APP WAS REGULARLY BACKED UP, I REMOVED THE APP FRONM MY IPHONE AND SYNCED IT BACK IN .THE APP SYNCED OK BUT THE CONTENT IS STILL MISSING

I LOST CONTENT WITHIN AN ADDRESS BOOK APP, THE APP WAS REGULARLY BACKED UP, I REMOVED THE APP FROM MY IPHONE AND SYNCED IT BACK IN .THE APP SYNCED OK BUT THE CONTENT IS STILL MISSING

That's because app content is stored in the iPhone backup, not the app. What you should have done, is first restore from backup, then sync your iTunes content...the app in question...back to your phone. That would have restored the app data. However, if you've synced, since restoring the app to your phone, the app data is gone.

  • How do I delete items from menu bar  that are not part of the OS

How do I delete items from menu bar  that are not part of the OS

Perhaps you could be more specific, as it is a little difficult to answer your question without any details.  I can give you some general ideas though.
On my machine there are a few applications that have installed items into the menu bar - I'm assuming you are talking about the icons on the right hand side of the top bar. To remove those items, I would generally need to uninstall the program that created them. To do this varies a little from application to application.
Also, sometimes an application will have preferences that allow you choose if you want to display the item in the menu bar.
So, my general advice would be that you need to identify the application that placed the item there, and remove it from your computer.  If there is an uninstall program for that application, I would run that in the first instance.
If you don't actually wish to uninstall the application, you may need to click on the item or run the application and see if there is a setting to not show the menu bar item.
    Hope that helps.

  • I have a third party app installed on iphone 4s and ipad 2 gen the app is different file size say 1.1mb on ipad vs 888kb on ipad any idea?

I have a third party app installed on iphone 4s and ipad 2 gen the app is different file size say 1.1mb on ipad vs 888kb on ipad any idea?

its possible that since the ipad version of the app is the version made for ipad and the one for phone is made for phone that they could be different sizes because they are programmed differently. Also possible that since they are this way one may have had more updates to it than the other so it may have more added data to the app than the other one

  • In Iphoto, How can I delete photos on my iphone that have already been imported?

I've just spent over the hour on the phone with my sister (who has a law degree, I have an engineering degree), and we could not figure out how to delete photos from our iphones that have already been imported into Iphoto.  I thought Apple was the company that made things easier???  This is a nightmare.
    The way it should work:
    - Launch iPhoto
    - Stand on iPhone (Under Devices)
    - Select photo to delete (under Already Imported)
    - Right-Click Delete (or Send to Trash, or Something)
Obviously we are not thinking like Apple thinks...does anyone know how to do this, or are these programs as crap as they seem and you have to go back to your iphone and select each photo one at a time (all several thousands of them).
Don't even get me started on how messed up my photo libraries have become now that I have (fully) switch over to Apple.
By the way, I like my Mac for everything else...but its photo capabilities suck.

Thanks, I was hoping for something a little more selective that I could do from my computer, but I think this is helpful.
Maybe the best approach to get this under control is:
    - Import all photos into iphoto
    - Delete all photos per your suggestion
    - Selectivly sync the photos you want put back on your phone
Thanks again, I didn't know this and is a helpful trick!
P.S. I still wouldn't mind finding a way to selectively delete files that are on my iphone from my computer.  (In Windows, you can go to My Computer -> Iphone, open the folder and delete what you want).

  • How do I delete photos from my iPhone that have been downloaded from my pc?

I am not sure how to delete photos from my iPhone that I have downloaded from my pc or that I have taken with my iPhone (on my camera roll)

"I am not sure how to delete photos from my iPhone that I have downloaded from my pc"
The same way you put them there.  The sync process.  open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want on the iphone , sync
"or that I have taken with my iPhone (on my camera roll)"
You can delete them when you import the photos to your computer - using whatever softare that you import them with or you can go to the pics and hit the trash can on the bottom of the screen.

I recently transfered most of my photos from my iphone to iphoto on my macbook. A couple of days later I transfered some of them back onto my iphone, but now when i look at them on my iphone there is no way to delete them there. Ive tried everything but nothing works. Correct. You need to Un-sync them using your Computer.
Basically do the opposite of what you did to get them on your Device.
