Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
Click File
Scroll down to "show duplicates"
A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.

If you want to free up your memory, maybe first checking to see if you got duplicates. -
From the File menu in iTunes, choose Show Duplicates. iTunes will then list all of the duplicate titles in your library.
If you delete a music in the iTunes folder, then when you try to play that particular music in your iTunes, it won't work as iTunes wouldn't be able to find it. However, when you import music on to your computer, always import straight into your iTunes, no where else.

I imported music from my old laptop, and now there are duplicates and triplicates of most of the songs in my library. They were all added at the same time though, so I cannot simply delete the older ones. Is there any quick way to get rid of extra copies of songs? Deleting them one by one would take a whole day.

The progress for some games will transfer since some games synce progress to a cental server. For other games you will have to have the backup of the old iPod.
You can restore from backup or access the backup. See:

If you have acces to the old iPod yu can make a backup by connecting the iPod to the computer and right click on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup.

Deleting duplicate songs off of iTunes??

Hi. I just recently downloaded some songs on my iTunes and they came up as stuff like "#3: [Artist]-[Song Title]" and stuff like that for the name of the song. Well I manually manage my iPod, and so I renamed all of the songs that came up like that before and then I went through and added all of the recently added songs from my recently added playlist and now the ones that came up with jacked up titles AS WELL AS the ones I renamed are on my iPod. I tried going into iTunes to right click on them and delete them, but in iTunes, they only show up in my iPod's recently added playlist, not in the library, and they won't let me delete them. Can someone please tell me how to delete the ones with messed up names? Thank you!

You can change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos" if you want to delete songs from iTunes. Your iPod will not sync with iTunes in this mode so it can have different content, you can get details here:

One major word of caution. If you delete songs from your PC and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

Since this other program I use for CD copying and DVD copying, or as we say back up, I don't want to delete it, but I Tunes will notcomplete with me using this, and I don't know what do do.

Apple's official advice on duplicates is here... HT2905: How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as lost ratings and playlist membership.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background, this post for detailed instructions, and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.
(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to show it temporarily or CTRL+B to keep it displayed.)
The most recent version of the script can tidy dead links as long as there is at least one live duplicate to merge stats and playlist membership to and should cope sensibly when the same file has been added via multiple paths.
