How do i delete photos from photo stream
i have a slide show on my tv, but there are pictures that i don't want things that downloaded automatically on my phone that transfered into my photo stream. they were deleted off my phone, but are still on the stream. how do i delete these off photo stream so that they will not be included in the slideshow?
This has been covered to exhaustion in the forums so if you want more detail, do a search, but the bottom line is no you can't delete from the photo stream. The purpose of the Photostream is to be a conveyer belt of information your devices borrow what they want off the belt but for 30 days or 1,000 snaps, the belt stays loaded.

How do I delete Photo Stream from Win XP PC
I have turned off Photo Steam on one of my 2 iPads, and both iphones, and should only have 30 pics in Photo Stream from the 1st iPad. However, when I look at photo stream on Apple TV, I have all of the photos that were ever in photo stream (hundreds). I have reset my iCloud photo stream online to empty, but I can't get rid of all those phoptos that I don't want. I can't install iCloud control panel, as I only have an XP, and I don't find the photos in the C dive/Users.
Where would I find the photos?Maybe it is answered here
iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ -
A couple months ago, I activated photo stream using my apple ID. I was under the impression that all the photos uploaded to my photo stream would only use server space on icloud and wouldn't actually utilize disk space, or at the most, the option was available to only download specific photos to my hard drive. My hope was that I could upload the photos to a specific drive, and view the uploaded thumbs or low-res comps on any device as a reference.
This is not the case.
What I have found is that iphoto has been automatically downloading any and all photos uploaded to my photo stream. Not just the thumbnails, the entire thumbnail + all resolutions. I shoot RAW photos so in my case, the original averages about 15-25MB per photo.
I have been uploading directly to an iphoto library on an external hard drive specifically designated for handling all my RAW high-res images.
What has been happening is all those RAW files are also being uploaded directly to my iphoto library on my iMac and eating up memory which I cannot reclaim, even after deactivating my Photo Stream in preferences. We're talking almost 100 GB of memory is tied up right now.
I don't want to just go in and start deleting files and folders in my Masters folder, since I have heard this will break iphoto, but the photos in my photostream do not show up in any event and I need to reclaim the hard drive space.
How can I safely delete them?If the files are loose inside the iPhoto library package here's one way to get them out:
1 - open your library, select all of the photos in the library and add a unique keyword, XXXX, to all of them.
2 - Rebuild the library with iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
3 - open the library, create a smart album with the criterial "Keyword is not XXXX".
4 - the smart album will include those photos that were not visible in your original library. Select them and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move them to the iPhoto Trash bin.
5 - empty the iPhoto Trash bin via the iPhoto ➙ Empty iPhoto Trash Bin menu option.
6 - empty the Trash bin in the Dock to remove the files from your hard drive completely.
Be sure to read Note 1 above. You can use the new library without your books, slideshow, etc. and it will not contain those errant files. Of course delete the original library if the new one is satisfactory. -

I am trying to clean up my iphoto because my computer is a snail due to too many photos & I've transferred my photo stream photos onto a thumb drive but now want to delete them from iphoto BUT I DON'T want them to be deleted from my iphone & ipad?? Is it possible to specify that? What are my options??
THANK YOU!!Welcome to the Apple Community Katie.
It is the purpose of photo stream to sync all photos to all devices, the only way to remove the photos from the computer without affecting other devices is to turn photo stream off. -

How can you restore photo stream photos back to Apple TV after accidentally deleting from your iPad
After accidentally deleting photo stream photos on my iPad, this deleted photo stream photos on my Apple TV. How can I restore these photos back to my Apple TV and also to my iPad? Suggestions welcomed
If you have a backup of your iPad prior to the date of deleting your photos, you can find them. Otherwise, you might be able to find them.
If you do have this backup, then you'll have to restore your iPad to that point.
If you had a Mac with iPhoto, then when you connected your iPad, iPhoto would store the photos separately from Photostream.
I despise Photostream. It's turned off everywhere on my system. It is one of the most useless pieces of junk that Apple has foisted on my Mac and iOS. But hey, that's just my opinion. -

How can I delete photos from iPad but not iCloud?
Before setting up iCloud, my girlfriend downloaded photos from her camera to her iPad. We now have iCloud set up, but the photos on her iPad remain in the "Photos" album instead of Photo Stream. I would like to delete the photos from the iPad to free up storage space, and move them to the Macbook. I'm guessing that I would need to somehow move them to Photo Stream then delete the old album where they were stored on the iPad... Any ideas?

How do you delete photos in photo stream?
How can I delete photos on my photo stream? My daughter added a monster photo that I would like off my phone and iPad. I know how to turn off photo stream i want to delete a photo. Thank you.
You cannot actually delete photos a la carte from Photostream unfortunately. I am sure this is a huge request for Apple, but right now, it is an all or nothing deal.
What you can do is completely reset Photostream to clear out everything that is there. Make sure that you save your images to an album or event in iPhoto, the Photo app, or a folder in Windows so you don't lose them.
You can then go to iCloud and click the "reset" button in Photostream to purge the images form the server. Then go to each device an turn Photostream off and back on to purge the local cache. -

How can i stop icloud from downloading all my photos onto my iphone 4s each time I sync. Then, how do I delete them from my phone, there are no delete options. I'm slowly going crazy.
Hi iprover,
Let me first say that I am NO EXPERT with anything Apple and really have only started looking into this iCloud stuff a few hours ago because I'm trying to help my mom free up some space on her iCloud. But anyway, here's what I'm learning and what I THINK might be happening to you.
Also, if any Apple support people (do they browse the forums to dish out helpful hints?) or people who probably know infinitely more than me about this stuff, please do chime in and confirm / correct my statements!
This is what I gather.
iCloud for Windows is set up with a local folder (let's call it "C:\Users\Administrator\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream") where iCloud will store photos uploaded to the Photo Stream. This will allow you to view your Photo Stream photos on your PC.
This does not mean that this is a PC backup of your Photo Stream photos, but just a way to view your Photo Stream from your PC. That being said, the general Photo Stream rules apply: 1. No videos are on the photo-stream, and 2. Photos on the Photo Stream will be removed after ~30 days and/or after hitting the Photo Stream limit of 1000 photos.
My guess is that the iCloud Windows App will delete photos from the local folder that are older than ~30 days and/or delete all but the most recent 1000 items if the 1000-item limit is reached.
That is a scary thought! I really hope you did not lose all your pictures, but my guess is that the iCloud local folder is NOT meant for backup but instead is the iCloud Windows App's sandbox for updating and managing Photo Stream photos.
All that being said, I'd say it's important to back up your photos in a separate folder not related to the iCloud local folder. -

HT4859 How do I delete photos from my icloud?
I am sure I am just reading right over the information, but how do I delete photos saved in my iCloud to free up storage?
Photo stream photos don't use your storage so deleting them won't help. Only camera roll photos are in your iCloud account, and they are included (by default) in your iCloud backup. This guide will explain how to exclude your camera roll from your backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847. If you don't back them up to iCloud, be sure to import them to your computer or you will eventually lose them (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083).
