How do I delete when opening home page "Meet Mozilla Foxfire" and 8 easy steps to become a Foxfire Expert

When I log into Foxfire the main page shows "Meet Mozilla Foxfire" and then below that it says Become a Firefox Expert in 8 easy steps. I'd like for the home page to show something like news, etc. in lieu of the above.

Music when opening home page?

I am trying to have music immediately come on when my home page is opened!
(without clicking on anything)I am successful in placing music, but you have to click on it! Can any one help ? Thanks

if you just want music to play when you open the webpage you need to do several things.
1. drag the audio file into iWeb. if you want the visitors to see the bar to allow pausing and more, then put it somewhere you want. if you want your visitors to see NOTHING, then put a box in colour of the background INFRONT of the audio file.
2. then you need to do something a bit complicated. publish your website (i assume you use .mac). find your iDisk. open Web/Sites/iWeb/YOURWEBSITENAME/ then look for the page name that contains the audio you placed in iWeb, ITS A FOLDER . i'll call it audio , in the folder should be a file that ends in .js open it up with Text Edit (((((if you see your website go preferences and change the formatting into text, So you see a lot of text you dont get. lol))))))))k. now it gets complicated
2a. find in the using the search function, for the name of your audio file (spaces are changed to %20).
2b. in the same paragraph there should say something like controller (controller bar at the bottom), autoplay, loop (repeats the song foreever) and stuff. behind in quoteations it should say true or false. Change the values to what you want.
2c. you need to change the values twice to make it work. one looks like this <para name="autoplay" value="false" /
the other like a bit more down autoplay="false"
2d. CHANGE each value to true or false depending on how you want it.
3. save the file.
4. go to your web adress and see if the music plays automatically
5. if not working, write back
hopefully that long text told you how to do it

How can I set the opening home page of FIrefox to display the current bookmarks. This used to work with bookmarks.html but I understand this file is no longer current.

I wish to display my current bookmarks as my opening home page in Firefox. I do not wish to use the Bookmarks sidebar instead. It used to work to open with bookmarks.html, which was and still is stored in my Firefox profile. However, I understand this file is no longer kept current but is only retained for legacy/compatibility reasons, and that the current bookmarks info is now stored in places.sqlite, etc. Is there a way with the new versions of Firefox to display as a full opening webpage the assuredly current bookmarks? Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps

I entered some web addresses today & I want to be rid of them. how do I close the site so they don't appear on my home page & history?

In Firefox for Android, you can find the "Clear Private Data" function in the menu under Settings. So:
menu > Settings > Privacy > Clear Private Data
This should launch a list of several categories of data. History is obvious here. The sites that were in Top Sites only because they were in history will be cleared. However, bookmarks may still appear in Top Sites after clearing history.

Repeated aspx downloads when opening home page

Every time I open my home page (att.net) in safari I get adownload of aspx file . This keeps repeating everytime I go to the home page. However, it does not happen in Firefox. I have searched and noticed this was a problem in 2005 without a definitive fix. Can anyone help. Thanks...Imac G5

I noticed in the linked discussion a user had the same situation as yours if I read correctly. They were having the problem with it using Safari and not Firefox. Others had it with both. It sounds as if it is a problem with a change with the attyahoo homepage changes. Very confusing. If you have no luck I would suggest contacting them and see if they have any tips for remedying the problem.
I have attyahoo myself but do not use their homepage for anything (webmail etc.) nor Safari for Panther and prefer Camino browser for my older 10.3.9 OS so I am not the best for troubleshooting it myself but did want to steer you at least to that discussion.

When I downloaded Foxfire the home page came up with "Meet Mozilla Foxfire" then below that it shows "Become a Firefox Expert in 8 Easy Steps". hello Vidabg, you can't restore this old homepage. it wasn't maintained after firefox 4, but it was still hosted by google for the time the search contract between google and mozilla was in place, which is now no longer the case. the new default homepage that firefox uses now is '''about:home'''.

Command-Click the filename at the top of the Pages window. In the list that pops up, click on the second item, the parent folder of the document. A finder window will open. Control-click the highlighted file and select "Move To Trash". Close the document.

yes you are correct, I just had a problem to find it in finder but it worked! I don't use pages much as I am retired so I just forget some little things sometimes. Glad you guys are around to help out..... now where are my glasses....
