You need to select and sync them in one go. Photos that you sync from your computer can't be deleted directly in the Photos app, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync - so you've effectively been telling iTunes to replace the folder that you've just synced with a new folder

When syncing photos on my ipad3, why does it delete the previous folder?

This is on my ipad 3 that I am having problems adding photo folders to it from my pc. Using itunes, I chose my folder, apply....but every time, it deletes the previous folder I had added.
I also bought a camera connection kit so to avoid using itunes. It says no pictures to import even though I know they are on the SD card.
Getting to hate itunes more every day, thanks in advance.

That is how it works. You need to select and sync all the photos from your computer that you want on the iPad together in one go - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

I want to sync it to the original library bc that is the one that has all songs. It keeps giving me a library with just songs that I have bought on itunes. I never created a new library so I am not sure why it is doing this. How do I get it to sync to my original library? I have already tried to restore a previous version of itunes but that did not help.

It appears that something happened to yur computer/iTunes files. It happens sometimes. To recovery:
- Import the old music into the current iTunes library
- Make sure all the apps are also in the library
- If in the USA and therplaces where iCloud has benn released you can redownload most iTunes puchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are singned into the same iTunes account the originally purchased them.
- After all the suff in in the iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes.
- Restore the iPod from backup and restore as necessary.

I seem to have created an "alias" applications folder and am now unable to add apps I have purchased. How can I restore the original Applications folder and delete the "alias" folder? Thank you

hi all, i am in a mess !, some how a lot of photos have been deleted from my iPad, and i dont know how ?.
However i do still have these photos on my MacBookPro but i dont remember how i got them onto my iPad originally, over 2 years ago (this is nothing to do with Photo Stream)
So PLEASE PLEASE how do i get these photos back onto my iPad ?. I would rather not use iTunes, i think this may be why the photos have gone AWOL in the first place !!!.
iTunes always seems to be so dammed complicated for my liking
i have an APP called iExplorer but i cant work out how to get that to work, i can two Finder Windows, one for MacBookPro and one for iPad but something seems to be write (or read) protected, i can select all the photos on my MacBookPro in one window but i simply cannot drag them across to the iPad window !!!

Hey Timmy,
I use Dropbox to get my photos to/from my iPad to my computer wirelessly (no iTunes). The process below is one I posted a few weeks ago for the opposite process than what you're wanting to do (from iPad to computer) but Dropbox will work both ways. Just set up a Dropbox folder on your computer and set up the Dropbox app on your iPad and they will both be in sync automatically.

The Dropbox app has a very cool auto-upload process that will automatically upload photos from the iPad Camera Roll to Dropbox.
First sign up for a free Dropbox account from your computer.
Then, download the free Dropbox app on your iPad.
Log in to the Dropbox app on the iPad with your new account and click on the Photos icon in the lower left corner of the screen (second one from the left).
Select "Enable Camera Upload" and "Only Wi-Fi." The upload process will begin for all existing photos in the Camera Roll.
From now on, all future photos taken by the iPad will automatically upload to the Dropbox folder. You can then download your photos from Dropbox to your computer by going to http://www.dropbox.com, logging in to your account, and downloading the photos. You can then put the photos on a USB drive or burn to a CD or upload them to a photo processing website.

Pics taken with the iphone are imported to your computer as with any other digital camera ( as explained in the manual).

Connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes. Select the iPad from the sidebar on the left side under Devices. Click on the photos tab in iTunes at the top. Click on the Sync Photos heading.
