How do I drop icons into my emails?

when i used hotmail plus from the web, it has little picture icons that you can insert in your text like music notes, or smiley faces......i have now added the plug-in so that i can use Mac Mail with my hotmail account, but now how do i get these little icons and drop them in my emails?
thanks!

You need to locate such on the web that are available for download.
The Mail.app does not include an HTML composer/editor as with a Hotmail Plus account via webmail access so such little picture icons dropped in a Mail.app message will be attachments to the message and not embedded.
Such attachments with the Mail.app appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message and depending on the recipient's email client and available preference settings, such attachments may appear inline or viewed in place within the body of the message when the message is opened by the recipient (as with the Mail.app) or as attached files only which must be opened separately to be viewed for which we have no control over.

    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The Email app accesses previously existing User accounts (like Yahoo, Comcast, etc.) It does not have a built-in Contacts section.
You will have to add new contacts another way - web access to the account for example.

  • Stuck at gdm how do i drop back into the console?

okay first off i'm ashamed to get stuck at this spot after spending a long time figuring out how to install/configure anything. long story short i got my system core installed, installed fluxbox, and then installed gdm. unfortunately now gdm loads and wont let me back into the console(even if i try the command ctrl+alt+backspace). why is that bad? because i forgot to add a normal user and gdm wont allow me to login with root.
my question: how do i drop back to the console?

If you are satisfied, you should change the topic to "[SOLVED] stuck at gdm how do i drop back into the console?" so the rest of us know you are happy :-)

  • How can I get back into my email account?

I hope there is a fairly easy solution to this because I'm not good with computers. I cannot receive any emails on my .mac.com account as the reason states "reason for failure 550.5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias". Also it does not recognize my password. When I first got my computer there wasn't a problem sending or receiving mail, however, I have not used the iMac for a few months, and now I have this problem. I appreciate any help that is written in Dummies language.

Thank you Long Lane, but my software is uptodate, and although I have reset my password, still nothing. In "Accounts Info" it lists incoming server as mail.mac.com (which it won't let me change). Is that what it should say? Also "description" is same info as email address. How can I be an illegal alias, I'm the only one that uses the computer

If it's not requested already, you can do so at the SQL Developer Exchange, so others can vote to add weight for future implementation.

  • New to bb. Can I move icons into one folder?

Hi, to the forum. I'm new to BB and I will appreciate some help.
1.- I have a few games, but I will like to have all of them on one folder. e.g. chess, blackjack, etc, under games. Is there a way to do this. I created a new folder (Games) but I do not know how to move the icons into it. I tried to drag them, but does not work.
2.- In the near future I will travel to southamerica and I do not know if I can use my BB with a local sim card. I  owned an unlocked Palm Treo that let me buy a local sim card and used it to communicate in the country I was visiting. Will I be able to do the same with my BB??
    Any ideas or answer.

you can go to your main screen and press the Menu button > The ADD FOLDER >  name it what you want to name it. Then you can click and move  the icons into the folder.

  • Import icons into Logic Pro

How can I import icons into LogicPro for Track headers?

    CRB wrote:
How can I import icons into LogicPro for Track headers?
    According the manual:
Click an existing track icon in the Track Parameter box, and choose the icon you want from the grid.
You can create your own icons for tracks. User-created icons are saved in the following
    folder: ~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Images/Icons.
These icons must have the following attributes:
    • 128 x 128 pixels in size
    • An alpha channel for transparency
    • Must be saved in the portable network graphics format (with the .png suffix)
    • Must be given a filename that starts with a three-digit number
Note: If this number is identical to the number of one of the built-in Logic Pro icons, the
icon found in the user folder is given priority.
You also have the option of directly replacing the built-in Logic Pro icons, which are found
in the /Contents/Resources/Images folder in the Logic Pro package.

  • Drag and drop file into email gets me an icon, not the image. Is there a simple fix?

I am used to drag and drop image import into apple email. Recently I get a "mail attachment" icon for images that have been previously sent in other email. I would like to see the actual image in every email if possible. How can that happen?

Thanks for the help. Dragging the thumbnail onto the album tab works great. Too bad this was not a bit clearer in the previous posts.

have a question mark in the place of my mail's icon and i cannot get into my email. I found my email folder in the library ,but it is not in applications. How do i get my email back ?

you should look in your applications folder to see if mail is still there. the dock icon is pointing to mail being in your applications folder. it has probably been moved or deleted for some reason from the app folder. do a spotlight search for your mail program. if it is still on your computer, move it back to the applications folder and when you click the question mark, it should see it is back and open. The email folder in your library shouldn't have to be touched. you need mail.app itself.

Well, I don't really understand the DnD interface so maybe my chess board example will be easier to understand and modify:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=57&threadID=518707
Basically what you would need to do is:
    a) on a mousePressed you would need to create a new JLabel with the icon from the clicked label and add the label to the glass pane
    b) mouseDragged code would be the same you just repaint the label as it is moved
    c) on a mouseReleased, you would need to check that the label is now positioned over your "drop panel" and then add the label to the panel using the panels coordinates not the glass pane coordinates.

  • How to drag and drop icon in the browser

    hi
i Have A web page that i should drag some responces from right to their correct location in Left.in pc I hold left mouse buttom and drag icon into its Correct place and drop it but I can't do that on the android browser. how should I do that? and firefox is only
browser that support my web page.

Some websites are programed to recognize tap actions instead of clicks, but others design the site to have a mobile version and a desktop version.
However I do not know if this will do this automatically. For example if you have a drop down menu in a form, it will drop down if you tap it on a mobile device and will do the same thing if you click it in a desktop browser.
It is possible to try to long tap then try to drag it, but if the website does not have it programmed, it may not work. There is Javascript UI touch punch that you can check out to develop this capability, but that would be a question for stackoverflow.com.
I am sorry I could not be more helpful.

  • Hi, I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.  Thanks

    Hi,
I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.
    Thanks

You attach files within the app that creates the file or within the app that the file is saved. For example you email photos from within  the Photos App itself. Typically there will be an action icon within the app - an arrow icon many times - you tap on that to bring other options like Share - then Email.
Attachments must be mailed within the apps themselves.
