How do I edit a PDF file on my Macbook Pro?

I'm working on a PDF file as school assignment and one of the requirements is inserting a picture into a little box. How do I do that and then continue to edit other parts of the PDF file so I could write stuff and revise?

I have to translate this pdf file to spanish. i tryed the following " advanced edition -> edit text" didn't work... maybe they scanned the file? tryed: "document -> ocr text recognition"... didn't work either.
I have Adobe Acrobat Professional. i attached one page of thefile i want to edit. Please help me!!!

Have you tried the TOOLS>Advanced Editing>Touchup Text Tool? You will have to have the fonts on your system to do the edit. You might be able to change the font to something else on your system if needed. The file is all text (in boxes) and the touchup text tool should do the job. I was able to change the fonts to Arial (not all of them, there are a few that are still in the old font that are numbers). I have posted the result at http://wadavis.ece.vt.edu/CO2 ophir lenses.pdf. (you may have to replace the spaces with %20)

How do I edit a PDF file using Acrobat 9 - Version 9.4.0
I need to edit - copy, extract text, add text, etc. from existing PDF files to SAVE my changes,
or create a new PDF file from an existing file.
This is very important for me to be able to do my job effectively.
I spent over 2 hrs the last few days, and another hour today, still can't do it.
PLEASE respond ASAP with a solution.
    Thanks in advance,

PDF is an end destination format - although Acrobat is capable of making minor changes to a file (e.g. to correct typos) it is not a word processor or DTP application. Major changes must be done in the original document, and the PDF file re-exported.
You can copy text from a file by selecting it and right-clicking, or you can save the file as plain or formatted text. To make small changes to the text on a page, use the touchup tool - see the help file for more info.

How do I edit a PDF file with Adobe PDF Pack?

Well, you don't. Editing a PDF is a difficult and fraught business even with the most expensive software.
But PDF Pack lets you export to Word; then often you can edit in Word. Now you can make a new PDF. It might look like the original, or it might not. If small changes matter you might be out of luck. ON NO ACCOUNT USE THIS FOR GOVERNMENT FORMS.

How do i edit a PDF file that was sent to me in an email?

Depends on the extent of the edits. You will need Acrobat in any case. If the edits or minor, you can use the text edit tool. For major edits, you need to request the original file be sent or see if you can Save As a DOC or related file type. PDFs are not really structured for editing and you are asking for a lot of grief if you want to do much. Exporting is the best way, or even better simply asking the author for the original (non-PDF type).

  • How can I edit my PDF file on cloud?

I cannot figure out how can I edit my PDF file on Acrobat Pro cloud version.

    Hi abulr60330783,
I've checked your account, and couldn't see what version of Acrobat that you have. You may be referring to the Acrobat DC which Adobe announced this week, but that isn't available just yet.
So, for the time being, you'll need to use Acrobat Pro XI or earlier to edit PDF files. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
    Best,
    Sara

You say it won't let you edit it. What do you mean
    * You don't know how
    * The can't find the tools you expect to find for editing
    * You know how to edit, but you can't select text to edit at all
    * The tools are there but greyed out
    * You get an error message (what?)
    * Something else?

  • How may I transfere PDF files from my MacBook Pro to my IPAD

How may I transfer PDF files from my MacBook Pro to my IPAD

There are a number of methods, including via synch to iTunes on a computer and emailing them to yourself.
I prefer using DropBox, which allows me to store them in the cloud and download only when needed, and send them to the app I choose (plus I do not synch my iPad to itunes). I typically use GoodReader or Adobe Reader, but any app that can read PDFs is typically available in the menu. You would need to install DropBox on the Mac as well as download the app on the iPad. Both are free.

How do I transfer a music file from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone?

If you download Adode Reader (free but very limited) or GoodReader (many features) - you can use file sharing.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes. Select the iPad on the left side under Devices. Click on the Apps tab in the iTunes window on the right. Scroll down to the File sharing apps window. Click on the file sharing app that you are using (Adobe Reader or GoodReader in this example). Drag the document from the desktop onto the file sharing window on the right side - or click on the add button in the lower right corner - and navigate to where the file is on the Mac and select it that way.

  • How do you edit a PDF file

I am trying to edit flyers that are sent to me, and I can't figure out how to edit a PDF file.
    Can anyone help me?

Adobe Reader products (including Adobe Reader Touch, Adobe Reader XI, Adobe Reader for iOS/Android, etc.) are free PDF viewers.  They do not support editing of PDF contents (text, images, etc.).
To edit PDFs, you need a paid product such as Adobe Acrobat XI Pro or Standard.

  • Editing a PDF file with Acrobat XI pro... some "text" is not selectable and vanishes upon saving

    Hi folks.
I've googled around for a few hours, but I'm completely stumped with this one.
I'm trying to edit a .pdf file that was generated from Word 2007.  Mostly it edits fine, but for reason some of what appears to be text isn't selectable with the text and image editor... in fact it doesn't even have a bounding box around it.  When I move around the document or save it in acrobat pro, the "text" then vanishes.
I include a dropbox link to a partial screenshot image which shows what I'm talking about.  You can see that the italic bold A doesn't have a box around it in some cases.
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/42i8xms78lvw12b/Screenshot%202014-02-07%2011.19.07.png
Can anybody kindly shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    Hi Bill.  Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately, I don't have the option of using the original DOCX file.  The author lost it, leaving only the pdf around
I'm using AA XI 11.0.06.  Upgraded this morning.  That's running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64.
I get the boundary boxes by clicking on the 'edit text and images' tool, and they appear.  Or don't in this case
I only need to change a few characters in the file.   However, even just opening up the file in AA and then saving, the "A = " "text" gets deleted.
Could it perhaps be something to do with embedded or missing maths fonts on my machine?  I mean, I don't get any warnings, just can't do anything with the A and AB italic bold text.
    Thanks!

  • How does I resize a pdf file page using Acrobat Pro?

In Acrobat Pro, how can one resize a pdf file page (21.38'' x 26.75'') into one measuring 6'' x 9'', to be submitted as the trim size? Is there a feature that allows this to be done? How does one set all print options from the Application print dialog box to enable one to adjust the dimensions of any customized file page?

I want to scale the 21.4'' by 26.8'' content down to one that can be fitted inside a 6'' by 9'' book.
I have this pdf that was created from the InkFlow app, and I'm using Acrobat Pro to merge three files into one (about 300MB), which I needed to submit to Amazon's CreateSpace, but they needed the trim size of 6'' by 9'', while the pdf is 21.4''' by 26.8'', and I can't amend the source file size of the InkFlow files.
I tried fiddling with the Crop and Print options, but I'm unable to resize the pdf to match the trim size. The problem on my side isn't so much on printing but to resize the pdf file page to 6'' by 9'' to satisfy Amazon's requirement for their trim size. Could this be done with Acrobat Pro? The message that appears is: Full print options of Acrobat Pro, set all print options from the Application print dialog box. Thank for the help.
