How do I embed an audio file that plays through the entire book?

I would like my students to listen to a story as they read it. Is there a way to embed the audio file and have it play through the entire book? I successfully embedded the audio file, but it stopped playing when I turned the page.

Audio is user controlled on a page-by-page basis in an iBA'd iBook.

Are you using Safari or Firefox? It runs as expected in Firefox, but in Safari I too get just the sound, and going to the m4v link causes the movie to download rather than play (it downloads fine and plays in Quicktime once downloaded). I checked some of my own m4v movies, and they were playing fine in Safari. For one embedded in a complex web page, see here:

There was a problem with a Safari plug-in misbehaving very early in Snow Leopard, but I no longer remember the details. But see this archived discussion:

How to listen to an audio file (that's not a podcast) in this app

I have some foreign language learning audio files that I'd like to use the "back 15" button feature of this app. They're not part of a podcast. I haven't found another app that does has this "back 15 seconds" feature, so I'd like to play these files using the iOS Podcast App.
I found a thread that said to use iTunes to change "media kind" of an mp3 to "podcast", but my drop-down just has "music", and following others suggestions to hold "shift" when pressing "Get Info" didn't change that to include other options unfortunately. It was also suggested in old posts that in this case the file permissions may be read only, but that's not the case with my file.
Looking for how to play my files in Podcast App, or info on another app that has the "back 15" feature. Thanks!

Duh... found my error... I was attempting to access the data by referencing the created "root" element. Since <test> is the very first element tag, it's setup as the root element, which you don't need to reference. Changing the alert to alert(xml.data); fixed it.
Now I just feel dumb, lol...

Have you checked to see if all of your browsers doesn't have a web page that is opened that has the audio? (Best thing is to quit all of your browsers to get that out of the way.) If it goes away, then find out which browser (if multiple), and then figure out what page or just close it if you wish.
Once you get the browsers out of the way and the audio is still playing. Then quit other programs.

How do I create a .llb file that holds all the subVIs used in a VI?

I wish to create a .llb file that holds all the subVIs(~200) used in my main VI.
When I open my main VI, and look into the 'show VI hierarchy' I see a lot of subVIs, so to copy all these subVIs into the library file is going to be really time consuming. I am hoping there is an option in Labview by which I could automatically put all these subVIs into one library file?

In your toplevel VI, go to "File..save with options".
Now select "Development distribution", press save, and give it a name for the llb.

I don't think understand the answer. From just the top level VI, do like I said and an llb will be created with the top level and all subVIs. You can also edit the llb (Tools>Edit VI Library) and make your main VI top level. A note of caution. An llb was originally designed as a means of storing VIs with extended names. With modern OS's allowing long file names, an llb is less useful except as a convenient means of distributing a group of VIs from one location to another. This would be done as a final distribution such as an instrument driver or to another developer who would then convert the llb to a folder. There are several problems with keeping the development VIs in an llb. One is that it doesn't work with any form of source code cont
rol. Another is that a corrupt VI in an llb can and has made the entire llb unreadable so unless you are absolutely religous about backups, you made find yourself in deep trouble some day.

How do I get my iphone 4 to play through the ear piece?

I bought an iPhone 4 yesterday.
I cannot get it to play through the headset (ANY headset; I have tried several). I have tried it in the ipod and the phone mode and checked all the settings. The finger tips explain nothing and I can find no other information to tell me how to make it play through the headset. It seems as though I should only have to plug in the headset and I should be able to hear through the headset rather than the iphone itself.
I've had over 25 Apple (hardware) products over many years, and this is truly the most difficult to comprehend or use.
It must be some simple button to tap on.

How to export comps as audio files that start at beginning of song?

Hi all
I'm a failry casual Logic user, looking for some insights from you experts out there!
Right now I'm helping out on an album project which involves me laying down various parts in a different location to the main project. Basically I'm getting rough mixes of the songs which I'm importing into my own Logic 8 project as single stereo files. Then I'm recording my various bits so that I can later send back individual wavs of each track I've recorded.
I've recorded various takes and made a few comps that I want to use for my file export. However, I haven't always started recording at the very beginning of the song, hence my audio regions don't start at the same point. I want to give the producer files that can be pulled into the main project with the exact same starting point.
I've tried poking around in the menus and the user guide to figure out how to do this, but without much success. I've tried "flatten and merge" on my comps, and have then tried drawing some "blank" regions to fill in the space back to the song starting point. I thought I could then glue them together and export as one audio file, but it's not working.
Before I get myself too tied up in knots, can anyone recommend a "right" way to do this?

I'd still like to solve this via option 1 anyway, as it could be useful in other applications (ie when collaborating with systems that don't support the timestamp feature).
The problem is that if I use the pencil tool to draw an empty region, it won't let me glue it to the existing recorded region. I get the error "Folders and Regions or Aliases cannot be merged."
Also, if I double-click the new region it opens in the piano roll rather than the sample editor, which seems bizarre. Surely you can't combine MIDI and audio regions on the same track?? This could be a clue as to why it won't let me glue these regions together though.
Note that in the file I'm currently trying this with, I've flattened and merged my takes, having chosen the one I want to keep. So, I no longer have the take folders visible (and actually, I don't know how I'd get them back if I wanted to, but I guess that's a different question entirely). My point being that Folders aren't in use here, despite what the error message says.

How do I find an audio file that I put on an iPod from a non-iTunes software?

I'm talking about on the iPod itself, not looking at the folders when it is connected to the computer.
I've put some audio files, podcasts and songs, that transfered from a non-iTunes podcast aggregator and songs that weren't in my iTunes library, but could not find them on the actual iPod device. This, despite the files showing up on the device when looking at a list of files on computer screen once I connect to a computer.
Asked this a few times now, and never got an answer. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

- Only iTunes purchases will copy from iPod to computer.
- If you sync manually and do not specify those modified songs to sync they will not sync to the iPod nor will the original version be deleted from the iPod
- If you sync automatically and include those songs or select the modified songs to sync manually, the songs in the iPod should be replaced with the modified songs. However sometimes that does not happen

Put the file in the classpath (such as in the parent directory of com/company/ldap). Then obtain an input stream to that file like this:
InputStream stream = getClass().getResourceAsStream("/settings.properties");
Then use that stream in the properties.load method. Remember to close the stream as well.

I want to display a image of a violin and have a on-off and slider bar underneath that shows playing progress for a short violin tune.
As it is, I have a link to the mp3 file which, when clicked, opens another page and shows the slider bar and start/volume control. I would like it to stay on the same page that the user is viewing when he/she clicks on the violin.
Can you help me with possible link on how this should be done? Or, give me a run-down on the steps to do this correctly in Dreamweaver? Can this be done simply in Dreamweaver or does it need to be done in another application like Flash?

To bring all the different elements together the way you want, my choice would be to do this in Flash. Check the Adobe Flash Forum if you get stuck.
