How do I enable "Uninterrupted Playback" in Premiere CS6

can't find the option anywhere.
Thanks.

I just read through this also. I agree with the request in Post #30 - however I would be willing to accept a modifier.
After some work I was doing last night, I now see the advantages of clicking "Play In to Out" and have it start at the in point, and if I want to jump ahead to just before the out point, I could Ctrl-click or Alt-click (or whatever) on where I want it to resume without having to hit the spacebar again. Better yet, let me set something in Preferences to avoid the modifier.
I don't actually need it in the Sequence timeline as much as I need it on the Source Monitor timeline while I am making subclips - making sure they start and end exactly where I want them. But it might as well get added both places. I have been editing a long time but seldom made subclips. My latest project has forced me into it.
I also want the software to do what I tell it to do, and this time, I want to tell it to continue to play from wherever on the timeline I click, following the previous command's instructions. Which might have just been "Play", but in my case would be "Play In to Out".
If I click on anything other than the timeline, I would expect the video to stop playing, of course. But if I had a second setting in Preferences, perhaps it could just play until I told it to stop or it came to the end (unless looped).
Sun of a gun. Those darned FCP people came up with something I also need. The temperature in Hell just fell to below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, Submitting a close copy of post #30 as well as a new one for my exact needs, as follows:
-Brief title for your desired feature:
Uninterrupted playback when moving the CTI
-How would you like the feature to work?
During playback in either the Source Monitor or the Project Monitor, I'd like to be able to click somewhere else on the timeline (usually scanning ahead) and have it jump to that point and continue playing, following the previous command's instructions. Which might have just been "Play", but might have been "Play In to Out". Instead, I click ahead and playback stops. Then I have to hit spacebar to begin playing again.
-Why is this feature important to you?
When playing "In to Out" while making subclips, I generally want to play the first part of the clip then jump to the end part of the clip, simply doublechecking that I like the In and Out point where they are before I make it a subclip. When making many subclips out of long clips, it is possible to do this hundreds of times per clip.
My second request is as follows:
-Brief title for your desired feature:
Add modifier to "Play In to Out" button and add keyboard shortcut capability for same
-How would you like the feature to work?
Ctrl-click on "Play In to Out" would play five seconds (configurable in preferences) of the beginning and then jump to play five seconds (also configurable) at the end of the "In to Out" section. Also, add the equivalent Keyboard Shortcut so that Ctrl-Shift-Space would work as it does now, but some other (configurable) key combination would work as requested.
-Why is this feature important to you?
When playing "In to Out" while making sub-clips, I generally want to play the first part of the clip then jump to the end part of the clip, simply double checking that I really do like the In and Out points where they are. When making subclips out of long clips, it is possible to do this hundreds of times per clip.
(Edit: Please note that these are actual submissions. )

  • No video playback in premiere CS6 trial

    Hi,
I am trying to use the Adobe Premiere CS6 trial on my laptop but I can't get the video playback to display at all. There is audio playback, just no video. I can get a paused frame to show if I double-click on the playback area but pressing play does not make the video play, only the audio. Stopping the playback displays the latest current frame again.
My laptop's specs are as follows:
    Toshiba notebook
    Intel i7 2.40GHz
    8gb RAM
    500+ gb free space
    Windows 8 64
    Latest Intel display drivers installed
The video files I am importing in my sequence are .mov files, 1920x1088 @ 23 FPS.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks for your time,
    - Benjamin

thank you. I was crazy trying to solve the problem. I install the drivers
and ..... like magic .... all the problems solve.

  • Laptop with Nvidia gt750m. Sufficient for real time playback in Premiere CS6?

I'm on the verge of buying a new laptop with the following specs:
    i7 4700MQ
    16GB RAM @ 1600 mhz
    1TB 7200 rpm drive
    120 GB SSD
    Nvidia GT750m GPU
    15.6 inch IPS display
I'm sure these specs will be more than sufficient for editing and grading Full HD DSLR clips in Premiere CS6. The only bottleneck in this system might be the GPU, which isn't all that great and has only GDDR3 memory.
Now I'm not planning to do any gaming on it, so I'm just wondering if this graphics card will be sufficient for realtime playback in Premiere after applying the hardware accelerated effects.
This is done solely by the GPU right? This card should be supported for hardware acceleration, but will it be powerful enough?
Unfortunately, there is no other setup possible in this price range that has a better GPU and still has a IPS screen.
Anyone has any experience with this card and the Mercury playback engine?
    Thanks!

    Looks OK.

  • How do I force a download of Premiere CS6?

I'm trying to download CS6 to get Encore. When I click on Download Premiere CS6 from the Premiere page, the CC "app list" launches from my top menu bar (Mac). The app list tells me that my CS6 is up-to-date. Problem is, I deleted the files weeks ago. Somehow CC is not up-to-date with the apps running on my machine, and seems to be blocking my attempts to re-download.  Yes, I dragged the apps to the trash a few weeks ago, rather that doing an uninstall.
How can I force download Premiere CS6 to get Encore?  Tried also quitting CC, but when I click on Download, the CC app launches again.
    Thanks for any help!

  • How can I use an mpeg in Premiere cs6? I converted it to an mov and it still wont work

I am trying to use an mpeg file in my premiere pro cs6 project.  It is stock footage I bought online. It imports but when I try to play it is stuck on the first frame.  I converted the file to an mov in quicktime and it still wont play in premiere. I am on a mac. Please help. Thanks

SATA II is generally just fine, no fuss no muss, for the system. Using PCIe to boot adds problems and most if not all such PCIe SSD cards do NOT WORK in 32-bit Mac Pro 1,1 and 2,1 (and the 3,1 is also sometimes difficult with some cards).
Data uses though are useful, work, and benefit. Lightroom, Aperture, scratch, even iPhoto - all those graphic libraries.
I would rewrite and make it "will the native SATA II drive bays" work, and the answer to that is YES. But not faster.
You have a 4x and 8x slot, so one of those is fine.
It is the reads and zero latency seeks along with queue depth and high 90K IOs per sec that help an SSD shine.
Putting a 250GB or 500GB EVO 840 is the easiest and best return on system improvement you can make for $120-240 (plus $14 for Icy Dock adapter).
Even the 2008 has two 4x PCIe 1.1 slots. The 2009 has PCIe 4x 2.1 slots that share bandwidth and cap out (only learned from stripping SSDs using two PCIe cards and 2-4 SSDs), so they aren't perfect either! ONLY the 5,1 really has the best PCIe design and setup.
Sonnet only supports or recommends their Tempo Pro which is what I bought, so I don't know off hand how well yours works and if it even will. Some cards do require EFI 64-bit, AND 10.8.x or later, and maybe even PCIe 2.0 - but only to work, ie they don't work or not supported in PCIe 1.0... but NOT about the bandwidth.
Booting in 10 seconds is nice. Launching a full dozen apps in 10 seconds (and ready to use) also. Only larger program suites takes 20 seconds now.
250MB/sec is nothing to sneeze at when it comes to boot drive SSD.

  • How do I merge sequences in Adobe Premiere CS6?

    Hi Everyone,
I'm attempting to do something new for the purpose of efficiency. I want to put individual segments sequenced together on individual sequence timelines and then merge them all together. Is this possible and if so how? This would allow me to pull excerpts from an individual sequence and add the clip to a master sequence. Thanks in advance and I apologize if what I'm asking is wacky or unheard of. LOL
Note: Another reason I'd like to do so is to sync footage individually in Plural Eyes application linked with Premiere because Plural
Eyes seems to have a very difficult time to sync all the footage and external recorders.
    Thanks Guys,
    Mike Diaz

You cannot deactivate fonts when the are installed as system fonts. But you can install fonts for some software manufacturer like Adobe for them only in the Application Support in their subfolder is a font.
With InDesign you can also install fonts for InDesign only in InDesign's font folder.
With in InDesign you can also install fonts on a Document level only, if you place them in a folder named "Document fonts" which has to be in the same directory as the INDD file is.
But with the current CC versions you see in the font dialog a star at the left of the font's name. Click on this star, then it will become a Favorite, and then you can click above to filter your favorites only. This will hide all other fonts. This may work for you to reduce the list.

  • How to re-enable right click in Indd CS6?

I upgraded my macbook from snow leopard to Maverick and now the right click in my Indesign CS6 is gone.  Before, when I right clicked, a big menu came up, which I liked.  Now, when I right click, nothing happens, and then I have to poke around for what I'm looking for.  How can I reenable the right click menu is Indesign CS6 for mac?
    Thank you!

How did you go from 10.6.8 to 10.9.X? Did you just do an inplace update of the OS or did you do a clean install of the OS and all the applications. If the former, Adobe apps are not happy with migration on a Mac. They need to be reinstalled. Try uninstalling, running the Cleaner tool and reinstalling from the original disks or a new clean download from Adobe.

  • How well does Canon MXF work in premiere CS6?

I am about to start a documentary project in which the producer wants us to use the Canon XF100. This camera records in MXF format, something I am not entirely familiar with. I know final Cut Pro X takes it but Adobe is our tool of choice. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Specifically look at Canon XF300 and 305 Instruction Manual and start reading from page 40.

  • Need Help Import Project from Adobe Premiere CS6 TO FCPX

Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to export a project from Adobe Premiere CS6 to FCPX.
    Many Thanks,
    Mat

I am trying to transfer a movie project I made on my work computer (MacBook Pro, iMovie '08) to my home computer (iMovie HD, iBook). I've transferred the files using a Lacie, but when I open iMovie HD on my personal computer, it does not let me open the project I desire.
As you have already found, iMovie '08 projects, as such, are not backwards compatible with previous versions of iMovie. iMovie '08's project basically consists of a list of instructions detailing how a project is to be exported while previous versions of iMovie actually rendered physical file segments ordered properly in a physical timeline reference file.
I can import, but not the whole file, it keeps putting items in the trash. I have exported Mobile, Medium, and Large files.
Basically you have two options. You can either import your raw footage (the Event clips) and "re-create" a project in iMovie HD or export your iMovie '08 project, complete with edits to an HD compatible format (e.g., DV or AIC/AIFF) and import this file into iMovie HD. Unfortunately, this latter approach will not allow you to "manipulate" your previous edits.
Basically, I want to be able to open the file in iMovie, in case I wanted to duplicate it or edit it.
As indicated above, you can import iMovie '08 shared/exported files to iMovie HD but you then have to edit them as source files. To remove a previous edit, you would literally have to delete it from your new project in order to add another.
I also want to be able to continue burning copies of this movie slideshow to DVD (I created a DVD project using iDVD).
Previously authored and burned DVDs can be copy-burned by applications like Toast or used to create stored "image" files that can be used to burn new DVDs on an as needed basis in the Mac OS "Burn" folder or using the Disk Utility application. In fact the "image" file can also be created for this purpose from within iDVD.

  • How do I enable playback of music without intermission on the iPhone?

How do I enable playback of music without intermission on the iPhone?

Doing so on a 3G iPhone "can" take several hours. So, plug your phone into a wall outlet, then Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. When finished, your phone should look just like it did when first taken out of the box, with nothing but the OS on it. Conversely, you can connect it to iTunes & restore it as a "New" device. Just don't sync after you restore as new.

  • How do i enable continuous video playback in iOS 11.3?

So I recently upgraded to iTunes 11.3 from i think itunes 11.0 or something. And suddenly my video playlists are not playing continously--that is to say, when an episode ends, it just stops playing, and doesn't play anything else until i tell it to. Is there any way to enable continous playback? I like to play movies and TV shows while i fall asleep, so obviously getting up every half hour to hit play again is not going to work.  For whatever reason, it plays songs and music videos just fine, but it won't play TV shows continously.

    Already found the answer.
    Didn't see the setOERdomainEnv.sh within the ${DOMAIN_HOME}
In there is the option OER_DIAG_OPTION. Only needed to remove the *'#'* and restart the server.

  • I am trying to get better playback rendering speed Premiere CS6

I am new to Adobe Premiere CS6.  I am trying to get faster playback rendering speed from my machine.
    Windows 7
i7 4790K Haswell overclocked to 4.5 (watercooled with Corsair)
    16 GB DDR3@799MHz
Asus Z87-WS (4 double graphic card slots)
Geforce GTX 760 (Primary)  GPU hardware acceleration enabled
    Quadro FX5800
250GB Samsung solid state C: (Windows and Adobe)
    250GB Crucial solid state (Scratch)
    2TB Seagate 7200RPM (video files)
    3TB Seagate 7200RPM (storage)
    Seasonic 1000watt PSU
I am primarily editing GoPro videos with effects like TimeWarp or Twixtor and color correction.
I have tried to run the PPBM6 program with no success. I kept getting failure to access files.
I have been looking at adding a second GTX760 with SLI so they will work together.  And possible removing the Quadro if it is slowing things down.
Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks!

...are you SURE your 760 GPU is "enabled" by PPro, and giving you the option of "Mercury Playback Acceleration" under  "General Preferences" ??? If the "Mercury Acceleration" is GREYED OUT and limits you to "software Only", go to Studio 1 website and learn to apply the well known "hack" to enable your 760 in PPro,OR, download their simple program to do it for you.
...Your machine is POWERFUL....especially with your CPU overclock......you MAY want to increase your memory to 32 GB if you are using After Effects....even PPro MAY run better with 32 GB, depending on your workflow.....most systems like yours have at LEAST 32GB system memory.
.....The GoPro codec is natively HIGHLY COMPRESSED and difficult to process, even for beefy machines. That is why they provide the free Cineform tool,( which used to be an expensive professional editing codec), to convert some,or,all of your footage to a more "edit friendly" AVI codec, which will FLY on your machine. HOWEVER, those new AVI files are HUGE.....TRIPLE the original size and requiring a LARGE and FAST disk transfer system. Right now, your single 7200 drive for your media is your SLOWEST component in the chain. The CHEAPEST improvement for you would be to add another MATCHING 2TB 7,200 rpm drive to your existing one and then use the 2 drives to create a fast RAID 0 directly off the mother board to improve the speed of your "media drive". THEN, you MUST insure that this RAID 0 is DILIGENTLY BACKED UP in case of a drive failure in the RAID. This ALSO means you must protect against an unexpected power failure which could destroy the RAID data if the failure happened during a critical write operation.....so,a good UPS is required.
You can OBSERVE how the various components in your system are performing while performing strenuous tasks by bringing up the "task manager" window and watching the CPU load.... if all cores are PEGGED at near 100%, you are "CPU bound". As you are ALREADY overclocked, you can't do anything other than to TRANSCODE your footage to the free Cineform. Your ENABLED GPU can be observed....real time....using the free MSI Afterburner,( or, similar).  Certain operations are accelerated by the GPU with PPro....not ALL!!  Scaling and some effects will use use the "Mercury Acceleration" while rendering previews AND during export. In some cases, rendering previews,or, exporting can be sped up by TEN TIMES by Mercury Acceleration. Watch the "GPU Usage" on Afterburner to see if the GPU is indeed being used, and if you are "saturating" it to its capacity of 100% with accelerated effects.
Make sure your Windows is fully updated to the current time........make sure your NVidia 760 has the most recent driver and DON'T use the Quadro for now. Set your "Windows page file" to be STATIC on your "C" drive at 24GB. Disable "Hibernation" Set all drives NOT to allow "indexing". Do NOT allow any spinning HDD to be over 50% filled....performance WILL decrease.....make sure any HDD is defragged,( do NOT defrag an SSD ! ). Stop all unnecessary processes, esp. anti-virus programs, while editing. Find out how to best "tune" windows to speed it up at the PPBM 6 and 7 websites.
BE AWARE that the "run of the mill" SSDs use cheaper Sandforce controllers, and are less suited to handle highly compressed digital video files. Samsung PRO models and recent Crucial M550 series SSDs ONLY are recommended for video use. Both these non-Sandforce SSDs maintain high WRITE speeds,( over 400MB/sec), AND maintain their high speeds after reaching their "steady state" condition. Cheaper EVO series and non-Marvell controlled SSDs MAY lose their fast write speeds over time and SLOW YOU WAY DOWN !!!  Test your current SSDs by transferring large video files between them  and watching MB per second that appears under "details" in the pop up window during transfer. Make sure none are slow.....test them with HD Tune Pro as well.
Certain non-Adobe plug-ins and certain effects may NOT use all the CPU threads well,or, may not use the GPU.....forcing the CPU to do additional work. You will have to identify problem plug-ins,or, effects by switching them on and off to see if any cripple your system.
Your machine is POWERFUL.....go to PPBM7 website and read the "tweakers" page to learn more....then, register for free and TEST your machine with their video benchmark test for PPro. It should do WELL.....AND it will help identify if you have any "bottlenecks" which are impairing your system.
Good Luck !!!!!.....THEN, start using CC 2014.....like Patton said : "...all glory is FLEETING !!"......so is the lifespan of former PPro versions !!!!!!
