How do i ensure the new access point is joined the controller or not

How do i ensure the new access point is joined the controller or not

To Verifying that Access Points Join the Controller or not there are two ways as below.
Please go through the step by step to find the APs joined state
When replacing a controller, you need to make sure that access points join the new controller.
Using the GUI to Verify that Access Points Join the Controller
Follow these steps to ensure that access points join the new controller.
Step 1 Follow these steps to configure the new controller as a master controller.
a. Click Controller > Advanced > Master Controller Mode to open the Master Controller Configuration page.
b. Check the Master Controller Mode check box.
c. Click Apply to commit your changes.
d. Click Save Configuration to save your changes.
Step 2 (Optional) Flush the ARP and MAC address tables within the network infrastructure. Ask your network administrator for more information about this step.
Step 3 Restart the access points.
Step 4 Once all the access points have joined the new controller, configure the controller not to be a master controller by unchecking the Master Controller Mode check box on the Master Controller Configuration page.
Using the CLI to Verify that Access Points Join the Controller
Follow these steps to ensure that access points join the new controller.
Step 1 To configure the new controller as a master controller, enter this command:
config network master-base enable
Step 2 (Optional) Flush the ARP and MAC address tables within the network infrastructure. Ask your network administrator for more information about this step.
Step 3 Restart the access points.

How can I set up a guest access point with a Time Capsule and an Airport Extreme? I am using a Telus router with the Time Capsule used as a wireless access point (bridge mode). I don't want the guest access point to have access to my network.

The Guest Network function of the Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme cannot be enabled when the device is in Bridge Mode. Unfortunately, with another router...the Telus...upstream on your network, Bridge Mode is indicated as the correct setting for all other routers on the network.
If you can replace the Telus gateway with a simple modem (that performs no routing functions), you should be able to configure either the Time Capsule or the AirPort Extreme....whichever is connected to the modem....to provide a Guest Network.

  • I downloaded the new operating system and now the Bluetooth in the car does not play my music.  All the songs show the cloud with a red arrow pointing down. How do I download all of them again to my I phone please?

I downloaded the new operating system and now the Bluetooth in the car does not play my music.  The music on the phone show the cloud and the red arrow pointing downwards.  How do I download all the music again to my phone please?

I have an ITunes account.  I got it when I got my IPOD.  I've thought about upgrading, but I didn't see any reason to buy a newer IPOD because they all come with so much stuff I don't want/need.  I don't have my current IPOD filled yet and I really don't need an IPOD Touch that has capabilities that my Droid already has.  I don't need to be concerned with documents, mail, attaching to Facebook or playing games.  I can do all that on my phone.  I just want to maintain my music between 3 devices.
So now that I see it is not to my benefit to have this product---can you point me in the direction to cancel this?  And how do I get my music back?  Will it show up once I cancel my account?

  • How do you move a track region in Garage Band to a new starting point without altering the existing length of the track?

How do you move a track region in Garage Band to a new starting point without altering the existing length of the track? Thanks.

What exactly are you trying to do? You can drag any region by grabbing it in the middle of the upper area with the highlighted name of the region. However, if you move it towards the end of the track, the length of the track will get longer, to accommodate the extra part of the region. DO you want to speed up the region, to shorten it or do you want to trim it? You can simply grab the right margin of the region and drag it, to make the region shorter.

  • How do I find the MAC address of a CLIENT ACCESS POINT created from the FILE SERVICES ROLE

I have several Client Access Points created within the clustered File Services Role.  The only way I seem to be able to determine the MAC address of each of these, is by visiting the DHCP server.
Does anyone know if there is a way of reporting on this from the server (active node) itself?  I have tried ipconfig all, checked the properties of the CAP in the FCS console etc.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
As far as I know there have no original option for query all the CAP MAC address, may you can create a PowerShell command then filter the configuration result, you can ask

  • How can I monitor the active access point + data c...

My privider (o2 Germany) requires me to use different access points (APN, proxy) on my phone (N80) depending on the type of browsing I want do do (WAP vs. "normal" access), and each of them has a "high cost trap" if I use the wrong one for the particular service.
Very annoying - up to the point that I consider not using the phone for online access at all because I'm so scared to run into uncontrollably high fees.
Anyways. I wonder if there is add-on software for my phone that helps me monitor my data connection, i.e.:
    * show me the currently used access point at the top of the display (yes, I know I can go into some deep menus to look it up, but that's not very helpful or even easy to use)
    * automatically disconnect when the conn is idle for a while (One of the data modes is time-based, meaning I do not want to have it open all the time by accident)
Currently, all I can see at the top of the display is that I have a data connection at all, but that does not give me enough information to know I'm in the right mode for what I'm doing.
    Thomas

You can force a disconnect by pressing the red/hangup key for a couple of seconds when the phone is in the standby state.
And in menu > Tools > Settings > Connection > Packet data change the setting "Packet data conn." to "When needed" and leave the "Access point" setting there to "None".
When you or apps on your phone are not doing any data transfer, then regardless of whether it is a WAP or "full" Internet packet data connection, you should not cumulate any charges.
You can also move the Connection Manager app from the Tools submenu to the main menu, or even to the Active standby apps list (or the softkeys) for quicker access. No need to deep dive into menus for it then.
And for individual apps, you can usually set the default access point to whatever is best to use for that particular app. For the browsers ("Web" and "Services") you can also make them ask you to pick the access point every time you connect.

  • How can we disable the OSX Access Point functionality without disabling all wifi.

Curious if anyone knows a way in Lion/Mountain Lion to disable the OSX access point features.
i have about 50+ macs in our company for iOS development. lately we've had a lot of rogue AP's showing up, people bridging the internal network by activating the "become a hotspot" feature in OSX. this is a *GREAT* feature, don't get me wrong. especially the latency and ease of use.. but in our case its causing problems, and i'm looking at a way to disable the AP features without disabling ALL wifi with something like.
    /usr/sbin/networksetup -setairportpower en1 off
this is a bit too much ,it disables the entire airport/wifi. we want to only disable the access point capabilities.
any hardcore guru's out there have some advise?
    TIA!

Enabling sharing services requires administrative access, so one option is to set this and only give folks standard "managed" access. The Internet Sharing service is a process called "InternetSharing" that runs as the root user and establishes all the appropriate services for the needed connection. You could technically remove or even rename this process on systems to prevent it from being used, or remove or disable its launch daemon. These files are in the following directories:
    /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.InternetSharing.plist
    /usr/libexec/InternetSharing

    Hi Nassem,
    It looks like you ended up with a Lightweight AP (LAP Part#) instead of an IOS AP. This can be fixed;
Reverting the Access Point Back to Autonomous Mode
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272
You can convert an access point from lightweight mode back to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS Release that supports autonomous mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3(7)JA or earlier). If the access point is associated to a controller, you can use the controller to load the Cisco IOS release. If the access point is not associated to a controller, you can load the Cisco IOS release using TFTP.
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, and c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point.
Step 4 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 5 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 6 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 9 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.
    From this doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272

  • User unable to connect to new access point AIR-CAP3502P-S-K9

    Hi Guys,
In my branch there are 8 access points[ AIR-CAP3502I-S-K9 ] connected to Wireless controller which is been working fine since the beginning.. I had to add two more access points to this branch and after the failure, i realised this Access point [ AIR-CAP3502P-S-K9 ] is latest and it needs the minimum image 7.3.101.. So i did a upgrade on WLC 5508 and all 10 access points have joined successfully...
Issue am facing is when NEW users come under AP 9 and AP 10 get associated successfully, but the old users(Projetc Manager) who been in the branch for very long and able to get associated with other AP's [1 to 8] gets associated successfully with all old AP's but not with the new AP's..
Could please some one advise, why this strange behaviour... I googled for answer but am not getting any right solution...

Do you have AP Groups configured?
The old wireless clients, are their drivers up to date?

  • Is SQL Server the new Access?

This is a condensed summary of the job market as I've been observing it so far this year and maybe in retrospect last year too.  It may or may not be appropriate to this forum, if you are reading it then so far maybe it has relevance.
But it appears to me as if virtually all new, large-scale work is being moved off of SQL Server and onto cloud and "big data" platforms possibly (but not frequently) including Azure.
What is being left on SQL Server are legacy systems and smaller applications where generalist developers can totally fend for themselves, with the help of a competent DBA platform staff, and just let the power of the hardware overcome any technical
issues.  Most of these apps seem to be whatever fits on a standard version and runs under a VM.  In effect, SQL Server is becoming the new Access!
One additional small attempt at forum relevance: insofar as this market shift might be true, I would attribute it to two engine-related things.  First, the very unfortunate decision by Microsoft that for SQL 2012 licensing for big multicore servers
became far more expensive.  It seems many shops stayed on SQL 2008 for a long time (still!) because of this and have barely looked at SQL 2014.  Second is that frankly SQL Server is not scaling very well beyond the terabyte range without a lot of
high-levels of expertise involved - and especially when cheap management tries to run that multi-terabyte database on 32gb production servers!*  SQL Server's reputation for being easy to use, plug-and-play, may be threatening the success of these larger-scale
apps and is leading to new choices in platform.
Anyone else have any observations along these lines, pro or con?
    Thanks,
    Josh
*and if you think that's a myth, it is exactly what happened at my last gig, leading to $20,000,000 in development being thrown away - and no, they simply could not be talked into understanding or mitigating the issue.

    Josh,
I would think most of this is going to depend on the company, resources, and business models. I added my 2 cents though, enjoy.
But it appears to me as if virtually all new, large-scale work is being moved off of SQL Server and onto cloud and "big data" platforms possibly (but not frequently) including Azure.
I personally don't look at Azure as a big data platform. Currently it has its limits in both processing power and disk IO, has its own issues (such as AD integration, which is possible but takes extra hardware and setup) and has an SLA that you may or may
not be able to live with.
Do I see more things moving Azure - yes, but it's mostly because they are small and is based on cost + expertise. Most of the time there is no in house DBA and it is cheaper to have some other company worry about hosting it, providing the services, hardware,
power, etc. You get redundancy and an out of the box SLA for small applications that are fractions of the cost compared to the licensing + hardware + personnel costs of in-house items.
Remember when everything was run on mainframe, then personal computers came out, now everything is migrating back toward a mainframe feel. It is just how it cycles. "on prem private clouds" are nothing more than beefy hardware with a single purpose all packaged
together (such as offering from HP and Dell) and something a shop of sufficient size can do on their own with enterprise class hardware - again if you have the space and expertise.
This could just be the company that you work for, or someone up higher that hears a key word and latches on. I can tell you that I'm actually in the process of migrating multiple Oracle databases to SQL Server with application upgrades. That isn't counting
the other databases that are currently SQL Server at 1TB+ but it depends on what is considered a small application. To a small company almost all applications are large, versus a large company with 10k+ employees and then anything less than 1k+ users is small.
It also depends on if you're a dev shop or a 3rd party shop. For example, we bought software that runs on a closed source version of MySQL. It happens, that's what they use.
First, the very unfortunate decision by Microsoft that for SQL 2012 licensing for big multicore servers became far more expensive. It seems many shops stayed on SQL 2008 for a long time (still!) because of this and have barely looked at SQL 2014.
Yeah, this made me sad. Following Oracle and IBM was not the way to go, but not our decisions. The interesting thing is, if you read the licensing doc, anything you have with SA can be converted to cores so it isn't a total loss and shouldn't be a reason
to stay at older versions. I still have instances of 2000 running (omfg) that are somehow alive... it's because the software company is no longer around yet we still use that product, not because we don't want to upgrade (read WE as I insist harshly). In fact
I just had an install guide emailed to me about a possible new product and their "supported" version of SQL Server was 2005 SP3, it's all about what they develop on and if they test it on newer versions. Since that takes money most of the time they don't and
it makes me sad with a few drops of angry and then tons of push back until they support something newer.
This is how it will be especially in regulated markets such as stock trading and gambling where products must be "approved" by the boards or commissions before it can be used. I liked to joke that dev shops were 4 years behind, retail and hospitals were
8 years behind and the government still uses pencil and paper.
Second is that frankly SQL Server is not scaling very well beyond the terabyte range without a lot of high-levels of expertise involved - and especially when cheap management tries to run that multi-terabyte database on 32gb production servers!
That is a huge "it depends", I'm not even going to try and lsit the myriad of items that can attribute to this. Very rarely when I am investigating is this an issue to scaling with SQL Server. Most of the time I find two main culprits - the first is a database
design that is terrible and leads to the problems at hand or the other being an application that doesn't properly use the database. When I say properly, I mean HOLDLOCK hints hard coded into application queries and then wondering why concurrency is terrible.
The developers just don't know, understand, or care as their job is to ship a product.
If it makes you feel any better, I have successfully run (for years) a 1+ TB db on a server (2008) with 16 GB of RAM. The database lends itself to the type of workload that doesn't require extremely large datasets in memory and is more of an oltp style with
large and long archives. This is why I say "it depends", because not every database is equal.
Anyone else have any observations along these lines, pro or con?
There will always be a new technology and change in the wind. That's inevitable. Some companies and execs understand this and take caution, some stick to old school (still have AS/400 style batch processing for "real-time" data), some always jump on the
    newest thing. YMMV.
I look at it as another tool available to us.

  • I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes and after syncing the new ipod, I was unable to get the majority of my songs. They all appear with an exclamation point. Even the ones purchased on itunes. Why?

I purchased my daughter the new ipod. I downloaded the latest version of itunes. After syncing the ipod, all my songs appear grayed out. They have an exclamation point next to them. Even the ones I purchased from itunes. How do I get my songs back?

Usually, the exclamation mark tells you that the song was not where the program expected to find it. It may also mean that there was an error with the file itself.
If you click on the exclamation mark, it may give you a reason. You can also double click the file to make it play. If the file is not found, it will tell you. Just follow the prompts to look for the song again. It will ask you if you want to look for the other missing songs in the same folder. You can do it, but unfortunately, the last few updates have made the program blind to the songs that are there and you sometimes have to do the same process for each song.
If neither of these help, I would suggest starting from scratch and reinstalling iTunes. I have had to do that before. Do your best to back up the library and such first.
Sometimes a computer will rename a hard disk (Windows) and all the songs on that disk will be gone to iTunes because it will think it's looking in the right place. It can't recognize that the hard disk or partition has been renamed.
I know that this is a podcast, but the principle is the same. A dialogue box should pop up to tell you just what the problem is.
       I hope this helps!

  • Forcing iPod Auto connect to the the strongest access point?

I have two access points at home, one on the first floor "platinum 1״ and "platinum 2" on the second floor. How can I force my iPod Touch 4th generation (the newest version) to connect to the the stronger access point?
In many cases I am on the second floor where the wifi signal is stronger from platinum 2 but the iPod stay connected to platinum 1 access point.
I want the iPod to change automatically to the stronger AP at my home.
    Please advice

It will stay connected to the current network until the signal strength gets too low to stay connected, then it will switch to another network if available.

This link should provide the help you need.  You are going to have to restore your iPad as a New Device since you never backed it up.  You'll then have to download your apps again (you won't be charged as long as you use the same Apple ID you downloaded them from to begin with.  You'll have to rebuild your contacts, everything.  From now on, make sure you are regularly backing up your device.
