How do I erase all the thumbnails in new tab?

I didn't check the thumbanils in new tab for a long time, and now there a lot of these from my history, my question is how do I erase them without clicking the X mark again an again on every one?

If you click the X then you place those items in the blocked list.
That is the browser.newtabpage.blocked pref that you can inspect on the about:config page.
Note that Firefox still creates thumbnails of visited pages in the thumbnails folder when you disable the about:newtab page or aren't using it.
You can create this Boolean pref on the about:config page to prevent Firefox from generating thumbnails for the about:newtab page.
*name: browser.pagethumbnails.capturing_disabled with value: true
You can delete the thumbnails folder in the Firefox profile folder to remove already stored web page thumbnails.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Hey Kjohnston5,
The easiest way to erase all songs from your iPod shuffle would be to restore it to factory settings. Use the steps in this article to to so -

How do I erase all the data on an old imac, so I can safely sell/give it away without any personal information on it?
Joel

Boot with your original install discs, launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, select the HD, erase, reformat, and zero out the data. Once that's finished, reinstall the OS and on first boot quit the installer and shutdown the machine. Give the original discs to the new owner and when they start it up, they'll experience the first time Setup Assistant. Since it's not a new machine, there should be nothing associated with Lion or ML to muck things up.

• How do I erase ALL the files on my MacBook Pro?

I've just gotten a new MacBook Air and successfully migrated all my data from my MacBook Pro. Now I'd like to clean up my MacBook Pro for my son. I don't want to erase all the applications, but I do want to erase all my files. Is there an easy way to it?

Easiest thing to do is create a new Admin account, login using that account, then delete your old Admin & user accounts. All your apps will still be present, but your user data & files will be gone.

• How can I erase all the info on my Mac.

Hi, my mom bought a new computer and gave me her Mac. Since she used it for a couple of years, it has all her information and stuff and this has made the mac very slow. I have a Macbook Pro for work but I want this for my house. I would like that everything is synced.
I don't know how to erase all this information in the computer and start using it as it was new.
I already changed my AppleID for hers, but nothing changed and there's still everything there. I looked it up in a couple of blogs and a lot of them say I should press Command + r, but when I do this, nothing happens.
Can you help me please?
Thanks

It depends how old the Mac is and what version of OS X you have installed.
If you have OS X 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9, you should have a recovery partition. That means that, if you reboot (choose restart from the Apple menu), and as soon as the screen turns black, hold down cmd-R and keep those two keys held down. You should restart from the recovery partition, and see various options such as install, etc. You actually want to use Disk Utility from the Utilities menu to erase the drive, and then follow the prompts to install OS X.
If you have 10.6 or earlier, you will not have the above option, and must find the original installation DVD and boot from it by holding down the C key on reboot. Again, use Disk Utility from the Utilities menu to erase the hard drive, then install a new system.
However, you may be able to regain a good deal of room without doing the above. In System preferences, Accounts (or Users and Groups, depending what version of OS X you have), create a new user and set it as an administrator. Use your name and whatever short name you'd like. Now, log out, and log back in as that new user. Go back to System preferences and delete your mom's old user, using the minus sign at the bottom left. You should choose to delete all files immediately.
This option will keep all applications that are installed, but will remove all personal files and give you a new, clean login.

• HT201274 how can i erase all the settings on an ipod i've forgotten the security password too?

my dad set up my ipod years ago and has since then forgotton the password, i would like to reset it to the original settings but don't have a password, what do i do now?

It's asking you to sign in because you most likely have find my iPhone turned on. If you can connect to WiFi, I'd suggest turning off find my iPhone by going to Settings>iCloud>find my iPhone. Turn it off and go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and setting. That will fix the issue.

• HT1339 I inherited an 80g I-Pod classic (I have two 160g myself). How do I erase all the information that the other person had on it and make it mine?

I inherited an I-Pod classic (80g) and would like to get it back to the factory settings (as if it were new). Is it possible to do so and how do I do it? Do I need to have an Apple store do it for me? I also own two 160g I-Pods so I don't want to go into my computers and possibly mess up those libraries. Any help will be appreciated.

• I just decommissioned my windows pc for a mac power book. How can I get my ipad to sync with the new computer without erasing all the apps and data on the ipad?

I just decomissioned my windows pc in favor of a new (to me) MacBook Pro. When I attempt to sync my iPad I get a warning that I will erase all content on the ipad in order to sync with the new computer. How do avoid erasing all the data on the iPad, and get the iPad and the new Mac/iTunes to be friends?

Best option is to use Windows Migration Assistant as Ralph noted.
Here's a better (updated) link to Windows Migration Assistant for Lion -> http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4796
Or if you only want iTunes (Migration Assistant let's you choose) copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from your PC to /Music/ on the Mac.
FYI: A MacBook is not a PowerBook. PowerBooks were discontinued in 2005.

• HT201274 How do I erase all content and settings on my ipod touch when I don't have my password or the original computer? I can't figure this out and it is frustrating me. I need to completely reset my ipod touch. I think it is in dfu mode now

Did you get a message in iTunes that said iTunes found an iPod in recovery mode? If not then you might have not gotten the iPod in recovery mode. Try using this program to get the iPod in recovery mode:

I have an iPhone 4s, but wifi the option is greyed out. The wifi stopped working on it months ago. Now I wanted to erase all content and setting from my old 4s and it will not connect to the internet, because the cellular data is no longer connected, since I bought a new iPhone 5c. I can't erase my phone by pluggin it into my Macbook Pro, since I can't disable the "Find my iPhone" App without internet. How do I erase all the data and setting on my 4s without connecting to the internet? It is running ios 7

See this https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20131119125513AAtRloc
I just did it. To enter DFU mode, I had to use "method 3" on this post
http://thebigboss.org/guides-iphone-ipod-ipad/dfu-mode
Too bad my 4S is 2 years old. Wifi is dead. I had to upgrade to 5S, but 5S is soooooo much faster than 4S so it's kind of good outcome. Without the 4S breaking down, a stingy person like me would have never upgraded the phone.

• How can I search a word in a column and erase all the rows containing that word?

How can I erase all the rows containing a certain word at once?
Right now I do it manually : I search the word in a certain column with cmd+f, after that it points out where the word is in different rows. And then I manually erase every row but this takes a lot of time when you have 500 row! There must be a way to select all the rows concerned at once and erase them? Thks!

assuming this is something you don't do very often you can simply use the search feature to identify instances of the search term, and select the row, delete the row then search again.
The next level would be to add a new column where you identify that the search term exists in a cell of the row, then you sort by the new column:
B1=IF(IFERROR(FIND("team", A1,1), 0)>0, "FOUND", "")
my search term is "team" change yours as needed.
select B1, copy,
select Column B, paste
Now sort:
Inspect the rows to make sure the rows found are REALLY ones you want to remove. select the ones you want to remove and delete those rows.
