How do I export a .dwg file so the Search/Find function can be used on it?

I have some .dwg files that my co-worker exported to PDF. It is crucial for me to have the ability to use the search or "Find" function in Reader. There are 11 different .dwg files exported into an 11 page PDF, but some of the were exported with different properties. I can search on 4 of them, but the other 7 are unsearchable. I believe my co-worker user Autodesk TrueView to export the .dwg files to PDF. So my question is what program I should use (I believe that TrueView is capable of what I am trying to do, but I'm not sure) and how should I set up the the settings before I export it to PDF. Thanks.

You need to contact Autodesk, almost no one here is likely to be familiar with what Autodesk can or cannot do.

Apparently Adobe thought that would be more appreciated than a book-wide Search/Replace.

The "Book" feature doesn't even get mentioned under "Sorry, we didn't change that at all." Also make sure to read the comments -- it seems lots of people really want more book features.

The online Adobe account you are referring to, is it Acrobat.com cloud?
You need to purchase a subscription for PDF Pack and then sign in to : https://cloud.acrobat.com/
Select the files saved in 'Acrobat.com' and then click on the 'Create pdf' tab to convert the selected doc files to pdf.
Alternatively you can download the .doc file from the online account and use Adobe Acrobat to convert it to pdf.

If you want the same export settings on some or all of the images you can select all that have the same export requirements and export them as a group.
If all the images have the same requirements then you can select them all and run the export command.

How do I export words and definitions from the glossary widget as XML? I need to use the same glossary in several projects. When I copy and paste the widget to a different project about 1/2 of the definitions disappear. Figured I would try exporting the words then importing them back in new glossaries in each project. Yes i read, and the answer to the main question is still the same, you cannot export, you just can import definitions if you previously have structured them into an xml file. So, first of all it would be useful to warn the user to ALWAYS start from an xml file BEFORE starting populating the glossary. Furthermore, not all users are supposed to manage easily an xml editing, and the widget itself has been programmed to insert the definitions with a simple method, so it would be necessary also to have an instrument to export to xml for importing purpose. Storyline has the same lack, you cannot move glossary from one project to another but you are forced to start from an old project or insert the glossary itself into a master project. You will agree with me that an xml export feature is not something so difficult to add for the widget. In my personal example, i added about 200 definitions, then i discovered that the glossary of captivate 7 does not work well in html5, the new one in captivate 8 is little bit better, but still not working on chrome (at least on ipad it shows, but you cannot show a button over it since it goes always on the top of everything, so at the moment i inserted a big transparent square behind it to close everyting like a lightbox). This widget is still very buggy and need to be improved.

Select "export' while in Windoz/Outlook and cerate an export file, then while in MacOS/Outlook select "import" and select the same file to import. You can use a thumb drive to sneakernet the file.

How do I remove an old file from the Finder Favorites list?

Good Afternoon.
I have a shiney new MBPro with 10.7.1.
On my old machine running Snow Leopard, I had two .xls files I used often that I had dragged to the left side into the favorites. The truth is, I hadn't used them in months, but hadn't bothered to remove them. Then about ten days ago, the Bad Thing happened, and I had to replace my laptop rather suddenly. The nice folks at the Apple store transferred all the data and I was off an running in just a few hours.
Now, I thought to myself, I should remove those two files since I don't use them any more. But how?
If I click on them nothing happens. If I right-click on them, nothing happens. I can't drag them out because they don't drag and they aren't listed on the list of favorites that can be toggled on and off in preferences.
I checked. The files did still exist but deleting them didn't remove their names from the favorites list.
Any suggestions as to how to remove these two .xls files from the Finder's Favorites list?

Files/documents need to be stored/associated within an app on the iPad, unlike 'normal' computers there is no file system which allows you to save files with no means of being able to read/use them. So if you want to store a file on the iPad you first need an app on the iPad that supports that file type.
How you then get the file onto the iPad and into the app will depend on what the app is and what transfer method(s) it supports. e.g. some apps use the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, some apps support the transfer of files via your wifi network, the iBooks app uses the Books section of your iTunes (and the device's Books tab) to sync content, and other transfer methods include email attachments, Dropbox etc. The file is then found by going into your chosen app and opening/using the file.

I have been trying to find some info on how Time Machine handles alias files on the backup volume, but can't find anything on that topic. Neither here in this discussion or at the Apple support pages.
My concern is if an alias file on the backup volume is backed up »as is«, or if it is resolved and the original file is backed up? The last would be most annoying as this will make the size of the backup much larger.
Even though I do not know of folders having been renamed (which will cause that folder and all its content to be backed up again) Time Machine often backs up a surprisingly large amount of data, so I suspect that alias files could be resolved.
Any info on this will be appreciated.

Alias files are NOT followed, AFAIK.

On your iMac launch iTunes and at the top next to the Apple symbol click iTunes > Preferences > Devices and tell me what you see. You last sync should be there showing only a device name. If you have an older backup it will be there as well the difference is it will be the device name with a date and time stamp. Sync and backups are two different things and there is a chance iTunes made a backup the first time you hooked up your iPhone 5.
