How do I export from IMovie when "not enough room in Heap Zone" error code appears?   How can I correct,  what to Do.."export movie" insteand of Media browser or IDVD?  Finalize movie?  I want to burn it to DVD!

How do I export from IMovie to Wondershare Creator to Make DVD and share hour long movie when I am unable to "publish" movie on Media Browser of IDVD because the error code "not enough room in heap Zone/ " appears and function is aborted.
I shortened the movie, that is no cure...Correcting date info on clips does not pertain.  Why would Apple throw roadblocks in your way without solving problems they create?
A techie made an appointment on the phone and was totally incapable of addressing the problem.
What is a heap zone????

Instead of Share to Media Browser, what happens if you try Share Menu > Export Movie... (choose Large size) and save it to the Desktop?
If that fails try Share Menu > Export using QuickTime...
Then pick Movie to QuickTime Movie, then click on Options... which is just to the right of Export
Under the Video section click on Settings...
Then in the pulldown menu at the top, titled Compression Type: Choose Apple Intermediate Codec. Then click OK. And click OK again, and save it to the desktop. Once the .mov file is created, you can import that into iDVD and most likely it will work in Wondershare Creator if you prefer to use that instead.

Hello, I am trying to process a 90 minute movie in imovie. I would like to process it in regular format and not high definition. Or if I have to process in high def, how do I create more space in my heap zone. The erroor message was processing in imovie, not enough room in heap zone error

I've never set it up since I purchased the computer. Time Machine is off. I'm extremely frustrated. I've tried to export to every possible place and I've tried to share to every option.

  • What does it mean when your imovie formatting process stops due to "not enough room in heap zone /"? Thanks.

I am trying to make an imovie from 369 slides I scanned to my computer.  I have the slides in order with titles and music attached.  The next step was formatting it before burning to the DVD.  About 2 hours into the formatting process, it stopped with a message that said "error" and "not enough room in heap zone /"  I don't know what the heap zone is and what to do next.  Thanks for any help.

I am asking the moderators of the forum to move this discussion to the iMovie forum for fastest assistance with this question.  Good luck

SO I KEEP TRYING TO FINALIZE IMOVIE PROJECT AND... NOT FINALIZE BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH ROOM IN HEAP ZONE?

The experts at a store told me that this usually is a problem of not having enough memory available for the system to finalize the project.  I moved some movies to a hard drive, but still haven't been able to solve the problem.

  • Trying to finalize a project and it says not enough room in heap zone??

I've been trying to finalize an iMovie project that is 12min 35sec but all it keeps saying is not enough room in heap zone.. What can I do about this?? It is so aggravating!! Thanks..

    A. Free Space - On DeskTop - usually top right hand corner there use to be an icon of Your Hard Disk - usually named Macintosh HD. If not then go via [cmd+F] and select it in tool field.
Now after it's selected You can read at the bottom of the frame
number of items selected and - Free Space as here 27,13 GB available
    B. Is there any thing connected to Your Mac - as external hard disks or other devices ?
    C. There can be a problem with iMovie pref file (Very common and especially so if the Mac has been Force/Panic Halted. To test this is easy.
    • Apple Menu and down to System Preferences
    • Accounts - and Create a new one
    • Apple Menu and down to bottom - Log out
    • Log into new Account
Now try iMovie - If it works - the problem is to 95 - 99.9% a corrupted iMovie pref file.

  • Unable to prepare project for publishing The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred.(Not enough room in heap zone / )

    Hi,
I tried couple times to export movie in iMovie but every time failed even after restart. I have 180GB of free space in my mac book pro and have 8GB of RAM. I have gone through the forum but could not find the solution for it. Please help me if anyone know the resolution. Thanks.

You're triggering a memory-handling bug in the 32-bit CoreGraphics framework. Unfortunately there may be no easy workaround. According to a report, you may be able to Export QuickTime and then export again from QuickTime Player, which (unlike iMovie) is a 64-bit application.

  • When I try to export from iMovie '11 I get repeated messages that the project is too big. Why? Is there a workaround? (I have already cut a 40-minute movie into three chunks...)

When I try to export from iMovie '11 I get repeated messages that the project is too big. Why? Is there a workaround? (I have already cut a 40-minute movie into three chunks... the first exported to iDVD ok, but the next one of 15 minutes balked for the same reason -- too long...)

    I wish I had a mac :-P
Sadly, this is Windows machine so I dont have a non-iOS version of iMovie.  I have 2 ideas left.  The first is xfering the project to my iPhone 4 and trying to export it there (if that works, awesome but geez apple the iPad 2 is way more powerful than the iphone 4.. youd think I wouldnt even have to attempt this).  The 2nd idea is to start at the end of my movie and delete clips and sounds backwards, trying to export each time to find whatever clip is causing the issue (when the movie was 5 minutes it mixed no probem, so I only need to go that far).
    Wish me luck?
Also, is anyone else besides me and the 5 dudes in the other threads having this issue??  Speak up, guys - Apple cant a fix a problem they dont know about.

Photoshop's licensing information might have lost when you restored it to new HD. Re-install Photoshop CS4 and enter the same serial key for PS CS4 which you used before.
In case you need the download link for PS CS4, you can get it from here. Download CS4 products
Let me know in case you still get any issues.

  • Illistrator CS6 Not Enough Room For The Window Error; Windows 7 64 bit

Illistrator CS6 Not Enough Room For The Window Error; Windows 7 64-bit
Recieved the same error on files under 2mb; was able to resolve by MAXIMIZING Illistrator window prior to opening file. If that failed, issue was resolved by closing app, removing settings folder from AppData\Adobe and restarting Illistrator. Now, any file over 15mb is unable to open even when attempting the above steps. Also uninstallled and reinstalled app with same results.
    Please advise.

Hi this has happened to me as well. I have been using a file for weeks and this morning I got this message "there is not enough room for the window".
Can someone help me/us? would this be a bug in Illustrator. I have never gottten this error before...
    Thank you so much.

  • Photos deleted when trying to import to Iphoto when not enough room.

I have tried to download my photos from my camera to Iphoto.  I clicked 'delete photos when downloaded'.  I had an error message that there was not enough room in Iphoto.  When I went back to the camera, all my photos have been deleted.  HELP!

first off - do you have a backup of your iphoto library (you should - if you do not you will lose all of your photos sooner or later - along with all of your other files) - computers, software and people fail and a backup is your only defense
Second - how much free space do you have on your disk drive that has the iPhoto library on it? YOu should always have at lease 10GB free - more is better
third in the future never have iPhoto (or any other computer program) delete your photos - import them and properly disconnect your camera/memory card and wait for at least one backup cycle and then use the reformat command on the camera to reformat you memory and erase the photos
For now you probably can recover your photos using a media recovery package like media recovery - http://freshcrop.com/  AFTER you resolve the space issue - until you do that do not use your camera at all or your computer anymore that necessary to resolve the space- depending on what damage has been done due to lack of disk space using the computer may make things worse
An external drive is probably the fastest and easiest way to resolve the space issue -
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

  • Not enough room in heap room

I am trying to export a movie in Imovie, but I get an error Not enough room inheap room. Can you help me?

    Update directed to dshaffer23
I split the project into two 20 minute segments as you suggested. The first segment finalized, but the second half did not. Then I broke the second segment into two parts and each finalized.
Since the initial first and second segments were of approximately the same size, I would have expected that both would have finalized. There are 302 pictures approximately 600-700K each. I only used fade to black transitions. There is no sound in the project.
I rebuilt a new version of the project from scratch (keeping all the old files and segments in iMovie) and the new file failed to finalize or be exported as a movie. On each of those attempts iMovie told me to close iMovie because of not enough memory memory.
iMovie has been requiring more and more time to open (currently about 30 seconds) to apparently create thumbnails) as more projects have been added. I now have 20 projects with a total of 3,000-4,000 pictures contained in those projects. There are also numerous videos in the events library.
Could it possibly be that all those thumbnail and files are what are  taking up excess memory? If so, can (or should) the projects be moved from iMovie project folders(s) to another location on a drive? (I move finished projects to other drive locations within iMove which creates a new project folder when they have been completed) There are currently only 5 projects that have not been completed.
I completed a large project last year with a project file size of almost 10 GB which I finalized and created a QT movie and imported into iDVD.
I am unsure if I can move files out of a project folder to another folder using finder action that those items could be put back back into a project folder in the future. If I can move them, I experiment to see if that project would then finalize.
