How do I FaceTime using two iPhones that are on the same iTunes account?

My husband and I share the same iTunes account for both of our iPhones. How can we FaceTime each other?

Pretty easy actually.  I had this same issue a few weeks ago when I got my wife an iPhone.
Go to Settings > FaceTime > int there, it will say recieve calls at "X" amount of locations.  When you open that, you can check and uncheck email addresses and phone numbers.  You can also add and/or remove email addresses.
Once you do this, you will want to go into Messages and do the same thing there as well.  Otherwise you will recieve each others iMessages too.
Good Luck!!  Cheers!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Yes and no.
There is no issues at all if you use two user accounts on the mac, each can sync with one of the accounts.
If you are using a single user account, you can add the second account as a secondary account in settings > mail, contacts and calendars and you can then sync mail, contacts, calendars, notes and reminders from the second account, but not documents and data, back to my mac or photostream.

How do I consolidate purchases from two different ids that are on the same bank account, and eliminate the extra id without losing any purchases? I want my music to match on both ipad and computer.

Purchases are forever tied to the AppleID they were bought with. There is currently no way to consolidate AppleIDs. Sorry.

  • How do I delete songs from my iphone that are not on my itunes account?

How do I delete songs from my iphone that are not on my itunes account?

You mean music that was not purchased from the iTunes Store?
If so, that means the music was transferred from your iTunes library on computer via the iTunes sync process - unless you are an iTunes Match subscriber.
Music transferred from your computer can be removed the same way - via the iTunes sync process or you should be able to delete individual songs direct from the iPhone.

  • When using two iPhones (iOS 5) on the same computer/iTunes Is there any way to choose which songs, contact info., etc. are sync'd to each device?

When using two iPhones (iOS 5) on the same computer/iTunes Is there any way to choose which songs, contact info., etc. are sync'd to each device?

    For each iPhone...
From the Summary tab select:  Sync only checked songs and videos.
Under Options in the Summary tab select:  Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi
If you want you can select: Manually manage music and videos.
Select the music you want synced from your iTunes library, same with Contacts.

  • I have three iPhone 4 models purchased in late 2010 that all share the same iTunes account (apps, music, etc), but I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps?

I have three iPhone 4 models purchased in late 2010 (for my family) that all share the same iTunes account for access to apps and music, but each phone/user still has his/her custom contact list, email accts, and select lists of apps and music from the one iTunes acct library.  The problem is I can only update the software on one of the three iPhones – the primary phone I used to setup the iTunes acct. What is the best solution to manage these devices for software updates, apps? This is probably a common problem with families wanting to share apps and music without realizing the issues created by this approach. As it stands today... the first (primary) iPhone associated with the iTune acct has been updated with the latest software version 5.1.1 and sync'd up with all the apps, music, etc from the one iTune acct, while the other two iPhones are still running on the original software version 4.0.2 and are experiencing problems now. I was advised by AT&T back in January that it would be necessary to setup separate iTunes accts for the second and third iPhones in order to receive system updates. The problem would be how to keep all the apps, etc from being deleted off the second and third phones that were originally loaded from the one iTunes acct. Since this AT&T advice was prior to iCloud coming out, would iCloud be a better solution or at least part of the solution? I really don't yet understand how iCloud works. Hopefully, someone out there can help me??  Please?

  • Hi, does someone know if I can use two Apple tv's with the same iTunes library? Thanks

Hi, does someone know if I can use two Apple tv's with the same iTunes library?
    Thanks

Yes you can use two (or more) AppleTVs with one iTunes library. They can both stream from iTunes (or the internet) at the same time, as long as you have a good working LAN and internet connection.

  • How do I transfer my songs from my old computer to my laptop? They are both the same iTunes account

How do I transfer my songs from my old computer to my laptop? They are both the same iTunes account.

These are two possible approaches that should work to move an existing iTunes library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase are reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where computer has died with no backup then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Is there any way that I can share an in-app purchase over multiple devices even if they are under the same iTunes account?

So there are several iOS devices in my family and on one of our iPads we have purchased an in-app purchase. I also have the same app on another iPad and would like to also have access to that in-app purchase. Both of these devices are under the same iTunes account so is there a way to share this in-app purchase across multiple devices?

You can check here  >  iTunes Store: About In-App Purchases
But I don't think this is possible.

  • Unlinking two iPhones that currently have the same Apple ID

My parents accidentally used the same Apple ID for both of their iPhones. How can I unlink their accounts and create two different, unique Apple IDs for each of their iPhones? And without losing what is currently saved to the iCloud (some of the info saved is for business). I appreciate any help. When I create a new ID for one device it messes up the other one. Thanks!

So I basically won't run into any trouble? I
There should be no issues. Its designed to work like that.  You don't change Apple IDs just because you get a new device.

Is there any chance that the phones can fall out of sync?
Unlikely. But nothing is impossible.   Though I don;t see how that would happen. As long as both are signed into the Same Apple ID / iCloud Account they will be N'Sync. (Bad Joke)

If I get a message or buy an app or take a photo on the iPhone 5, how do I get those things onto the iPhone 6?
If you buy an App, you have 2 ways to get it to the iPhone6: If Automatic Downloads is enabled in Settings->iTunes & App Store, it will automatically download to the iPhone 6 when you buy it on the 5 and vice versa if you buy it on the 6, it will download to the 5.
Alternatively, you can simply go to the App Store App->Updates->Purchased and look for the App there and download it. Purchased Apps will not require payment again. i.e They'll be free to download to the iPhone 6 once purchased.
SMS Messages will sync over using Continuity as long as they are on the same Wifi network. Otherwise, restoring the iPhone 5 backup to the iPhone 6 will transfer all messages received up until the backup was made onto the iPhone 6.
Images, can be transferred either through Photo Stream
My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Or any Cloud service you want such as Dropbox, or One Drive.

Also, something i forgot to ask initially: Should I update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8 first or does that not matter?
If you want the Continuity features as explained above you need to update the iPhone 5 to iOS 8. Otherwise its not all that important.

  • How can I stop the sharing on the iPhones that are in the same account because its sharing every thing even text messages

How can I stop the sharing on the iPhones that are on my account because its sharing everything even text messages and its driving everybody crazy

An icloud account is designed to be used by one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
If you have muitiple family members or friends using the same account as yours, then have them get their own Apple IDs and icloud accounts.
If you mean you want to stop the sharing between all your devices, then on any one device, go to Settings>icloud and turn off the services you don't want that device to share/sync.  Or turn off icloud altogether if that's what you want.

  • How do you delete play lists from an iPod that is sharing the same itunes account as your iphone?

Hi, I've just purchased my daughter an iPod Touch, I've registed the iPod on my iTunes account, but now it has all the same play lists that I have on my iPhone - some of the music isn't suitable but I can't delete any of it.  Does anybody know how I could delete the playlists - I don't think songs with the f bomb are suitable for 7 year olds!!! Help PLEASE....

You can eventurally set a different Sync scheme for your daughtere's ipod Touch device when it connects to your itunes.
Make sure you click on "Selected playlists" and then choose which playlists you want synced to your daughter's iPod. The rest will be deleted off her device with the next iTunes sync:

  • How do I log use two apple ID's on the same I mac with two user accounts

I cant seem to find a thread to answer this question.
I have have one I mac, both my wife and I have a user account each, we both have our own apple ID's is there away they can be used at the same time?
As so far I can't find a way of doing this. It seems one user account can only use its apple ID for a period of 90days, If I need to use the other apple ID I have to wait.. as I get this messsage
"You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 61 days. "
Is there a way around this?

Oh...How about one APPLE account, but two different users on the computer- one being administrator, and allow admin privileges if you want, or one be admin, the other a user.
Or- what you can do, is have the second apple account, but only log in to it without involving the computer.
Or break down and get a second computer. On hers, you be guest user and on yours she be guest- then if one breaks, you can still each use in turn.
Or alternately, go to applestore or contact apple to ask...

  • Is there a way to differentiate from two iPod touches that are on the same iTunes acct when using iMessage? When one child sends a message the other gets it and it says it's from our email address.

Both of my sons have iPod touches. I set them both up on my iTunes account. The problem we are having is when they are using iMessage. When one sends a message the other also receives it. The message is labeled as from my email address. Is there a way to differentiate the 2 iPods?

  • How do I pull backup files (pictures) from another device to my new device, and merge multiple backups that are on the same iCloud account?  I have an iphone4 and iphone5 backup.  I want to pull photos from both into my new iPhone5

Have multiple iPhone backups across 2 iPhones and 3 iPads.  I need to pull backup files and pictures off of backed up devices that are not my current in-use device.   How do I do that?  They are all under one apple ID.

If you still have the devices, import them to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083), then sync them to your current device.  If they are only stored in backups, the only way to access them is to restore the device to the entire backup.  Note: you can only restore photos in an iPhone backup to another iPhone, and from an iPad backup to another iPad.  If the backups are on your computer, you may be able to extract the photos from the backup using 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor.
