How do I get a Skype Icon onto my Android tablet home pages?

Running on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A with Lollipop 5.0.2. I can find no icon or widget for Skype on my Apps or Widget List. So I have to open it by going through the Google Play Store. I thought uninstalling and reinstalling it might put an icon on my Home Pages but it hasn't (in fact, uninstalling it just "uninstalled all updates"). How do I get an icon onto my home page?

I believe iTunes Store movies can only be played back on Apple devices.

Which phone do you have?
Easiest way is to change the storage location to the removable SD card then put that in your other phone (provided it has an SD card slot)
Other options Change storage to SD card then use a computer to transfer to the new phone
Plug old phone into the computer, load the driver and copy them off the old phone to the computer, then plug new phone in and copy them to the new phone
Download JS Backup from the Play store onto both phones (provided the new one is an android as well) then on the old phone use the Device to device transfer method to create a backup, and on the new phone use the device to device import to import the pics.
Whatever you do.... STAY AWAY from Verizon Cloud. Chances are you will never see all of your pictures again and will have tons of trouble getting to them to move or do anything with them. If you want to use a Cloud Storage, get Dropbox on your old phone and new phone, move the pics into dropbox then onto the new phone.

If you mean the Settings > General > Software Update option then that will only show when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 as your tagline suggests then you can only do the update via your computer's iTunes, as described half-way down the page that you posted from.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. A site called Babylon took over my home page among other things last week. Your advice via email to get Firefox from someone else who has it wasn't feasible. Neither was Riva uninstaller which you recommended. This appears to be an attack on Firefox and although I got rid of most of Babylon, it still dominates my home page. I love Firefox but this is bad news. I need it fixed.

Hub bottom bar which used to be accessible when required, now fixed and using valuable real estate - have lost a full e-mail summary from bottom of screen which is not good....

The FB behaviour you are suffering, I sometimes had a similar issue when posting comments to a picture, but it disappeared when I updated the FB app a few weeks ago.
I surely don't have the issue when sending a message from the Hub to someone.
FYI my version installed is 10.6.31.2.
Which version do you have, and can you detail a bit your issue so I can try on my side please?
